  1. Holy Shit Imma Get Owned!!11

That's no drink - that's you jackin' off in bed. Who the hell would post something like that?!?! Geez :barf:
  2. Huge DSM Resource

    ..............BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  3. Greddy type s tuning

It's probibly too loose, and when hitting higher boost, you're losing air (power) through the BOV. How I tune mine is I tighten it too much - rev then engine from the engine bay (push down on the throttle cable) and listen to where the air escapes. When it's too tight, it will go back out the...
  4. What do you do when you park?

I have heard this story from multiple people.... This guy had his DSM for a few years....with nothing but the usual issues you'll get with a modified car. He moved into a house on a little hill with no driveway - it was right on the street (think san francisco, but not as drastic). He parked...
  5. How much boost can a big 16 hold

It is my understanding that you NEED to have a fuel pump to run a big 16G. Once you have a pump, you can run 16lbs daily, reliably - I am. (This excludes race gas, of course.)
  6. How are Autometer gauges

I had an autometer boost gauge for ~9 months. I reciently replaced it with a greddy. WOW - the greddy is not only faster by far, it is accurate. Turns out, I was running 2 more lbs than I thought I was. I would never go back to autometer. Some people swear by them, but I would go...
  7. 97-98 Vs 99's

I too have found that most things show as 95-98, but they always work on the 99, not sure why they do that. The only differences I know of is the white faced gauges, and the option for black leather. They are mechanically the same as the 98s. Guys, feel free to add if I have missed any....
  8. My 1Gen wont make boost while reving?

With my big 16G I can rev to like 4K RPM and hear it just fine - depends a lot on the BOV and weather you're venting it or not.... What brand boost gauge do you have? You're not talking about the stocker, are you?
  9. Engine sounds unsafe at high RPMs

Mine sounds just like it should - it's a nice sounding rev all the way to 7500 (fuel cut). The only thing I can think of is an external WG will do that, or an internally gated, but externally dumped exhaust will do that... Just some suggestions. Did you buy the car used, and already modded...
  10. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

Well then, your new BOV is leaking. That is the only way a BOV could possibly help with boost creep....
  11. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

Yes, the turbo is ported, but the WG side is not (to my knowledge). That's more than likely my next move - port that out.Oh, and congrats on a non-creeping setup. :thumb:
  12. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

It shouldn't have a problem if you set it to 16, there just wouldn't be any additional lag time. I am using the stock 02 gasket, but a different exhaust manifold gasket - the stock 02 gasket it a perfect size....
  13. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

So - set the shit for 16lbs and call it a day.
  14. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

I got mine from RRE - the shipping kicked my a$$ though - it was like $24 or so after shipping. :thumbdownMy 02 housing can't be ported any more, porting the WG area of the turbo is my only other thing I can think is a possibility. Time to pull the turbo off again...
  15. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

    It's a tubular style @ 2.5" - I don't think it gets much better flowing.
  16. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

Yea, and no cat. Check my profile for all mods. I'll bet we're pretty similar....
  17. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

I have no lip - I ordered the larger 7cm gasket, so that's not the issue. Any other suggestions? All are welcome.... :)
  18. tps my culprit?

Well, a TPS will run you about $150 or so ( http://www.dsmparts.com/tps_isc.htm ). I have an extra one I can let go for $75. Washing under the hood can cause issues with your CAS, MAF, and TPS, so if you think that washing it caused your problem, it is probably one of those 3. From what I...
  19. Creep, Creep, and more Creep

POSSIBLE PROBLEM DIAGNOSIS - IF SO, MOVE PLEASEStock injectors, denso 190 FP, read profile for complete list of modsI have had no issues with creep at all, until I recently installed my ported big 16G with 34mm flapper. The T25 would hold 16lbs perfectly. After I got the 16G installed...
  20. Rev matching, double clutching, heel and toe

I too have always rev-matched while downshifting. It feels much better, and like Siberian said, if you rev-match all the time, and then don't - it feels like you are abusing the car. I have a dodge stealth that I have always rev-matched with and it has 137K miles on the original clutch (and...
  21. 14B or no?

SnowWhite might - just might - be a GIRL....
  22. 14B or no?

Definitly - it is well worth it. Was the turbo having any problems when he swapped it out? A little suggestion - make sure to not skimp on the install kit. I did and am sorry for it. Don't want to mention any names, but my kit was $220 and a huge piece of shit. I had to bend stuff to make...
  23. Bad Gas Mileage [Merged 9-6]

It seems like you guys all have really low gas milage. I get 300-320 per tank (from fill till the light STAYS on). I fill up with 93 octane and I have a HEAVY foot. I hit 5-6k RPM regularly, and cruise 2500-3000 - mostly stop and go stuff - very little interstate driving. Check my profile...
  24. loudest/ best bov without venting to atmosphere

ON A SCALE FROM 1 - 10 (10) My friend has a tial vented (obviously) and it is LOUD (10) .... I have had the following on my 2G: (with sunroof  )(1) Stock 2G BOV recirc. with stock snorkel and internal dump tube= barely audible BOV, quiet, but audible spooling sound(7) Stock...
  25. 16G > Stock Clutch?

Thank you all for your answers and comments. Going off of what I have read here, and what I have been told by friends, I think I'll just give it a shot and go for it. The only problem I have with replacing the clutch is the "C" word. I fear CW and really don't want to do a 6 bolt swap anytime...
  26. 16G > Stock Clutch?

Actully I got the car about 6 months ago, and they said the clutch was just replaced like 6000 miles before that, so I would say the clutch now has about 15K miles on it.... I don't know what brand clutch was put in, I have no way of contacting the previous owner. I got the car through a...
  27. 16G > Stock Clutch?

I am on the stock clutch, and stock turbo (T25) and have a deal going with a guy for a big 16G. Do you think I will need to replace the stock clutch if I upgrade to the big 16G? What about a 14B? See my list of mods to decide - I have heard mixed opinions. (If I do get the turbo, I will get...
  28. 6g72 swap...real or not? [Merged 9-9]

Check out www.dsmtimes.org. There are actully 3 that have run 7s. Click on "fastest"
  29. 2nd to 1st gen engine swap...........

I've read somewhere that the flywheel is heavier on the AWD....
  30. Is this A good Intercooler Piping Kit?

Personally, I'd stay away. I know a guy who got those, and what you can't see from that pic, is that that elbow is a complete 90* angle. It's not smooth at all. It's just 2 pipes welded together. Not to mention that there are no beads on the ends of the pipes, so under boost (or enough...
  31. new talon vid... in the snow

My god that looks like fun. Wish we had snow here to do that with....wait, no, no I don't. But it does looks like a lot of fun! :thumb:
  32. 1G Sunroof whistle fix....Loud!!

My 2G sunroof does the same thing. When accelerating, (even daily driving) all of a sudden around 35-40MPH, it will just sound like it popped opened. I'm not even going to get into what it sounds like on the interstate. It is really annoying and I too am looking for a fix.
  33. Gauge cluster problem

Not sure about the A/F gauge, but I have my boost gauge lit by the cig. lighter's light. I just cut the wire leading to the cig. bulb and ran some wire up to the gauge. That light only comes on when the parking/driving lights are on, and it works like a champ. Plus, I never really cared for...
  34. High pitch noise from motor being sent out air filter, not sure what it is?

I have a 1G BOV as well, and when I let off the gas anywhere from 10in of vacuum to ~3lb of boost, it squeeks (beeps...whatever). If I barley let off the gas while still in vacuum, it hits several different pitches and sounds like a goddamn windchime or something. Kind of annoying, but I've...
  35. datalog cable?

    :thumb:
  36. datalog cable?

I too have seen that cable - but it will not work for palm'n'stein or anything like that. That cable is used for a specific device made to read directly from an OBDII port. You need this - http://multiplex-engineering.com/products.htm. It's the T16-003 one. It is used with a hot sync cable...
  37. impossible???

I drove 8 hours round trip for mine...Totally worth it. :D I searched for about 6 months and finally found the perfect year, model, color, miles, and most importantly, Price. I knew I had to have it, so my wife and I trecked down there and got it. Made a little weekend vacation trip out of...
  38. What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

Don't forget he's got a 2G. Is a 13b an upgrade from a T25 is the question. I know a 14b is an upgrade, so I would assume the 13b would be a bit better, but I'm only assuming. He probibly blew the stock T25 and got the 13b cheap....but then he'd have to get the J pipe and all that - doesn't...
  39. My new intake...

When I did my intake (also my 1st mod) I also did the "snorkel" pipe that goes from the MAS to the turbo. MY CALIBRATED butt dyno says ~10hp w/ no other supporting mods. I could feel the car pull more, and not struggle so much in the higher RPM range - plus is sounded a lot cooler :D ...
  40. Whats your vac read???

  41. headlight cleaning [Merged 5-8] fogged hazy scratched crazed headlights

I found this to be very helpfull. The following link is for a supra, but you can figure it's generally similar to ours. Hope this helps. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/headlights/index.html -Joey
  42. 95-96,97-99

Another very very important thing is that the 98s and 99s were a lot less likely to crankwalk than the 95-97s. I would get a 98 or 99 for sure. -Joey
  43. Odd Shifting Problem

It's never popped out of gear on me. I've read about that Scyncroshift before - I'll definitely try it. Another thing - because I recently bought the car, it came with a little warranty - 3mo. 3k mi. I'm still within it. I brought the car to the dealer and they blamed it on the new clutch...
  44. Odd Shifting Problem

I have searched, and read, can't find anything too similar to my problem. I have a 99GST w/ 89k. I reciently got the car ~1 month ago. My understanding is the clutch was replaced ~3-4k miles ago. I find it hard to shift into 1st and 3rd. It doesn't really matter if I'm gunning it, or...

  46. dummy light question

Well I think I see your searching problem - you didn't search for "wasington monument". -Joey
  47. should this happen

When I first got my bone stock 99GST, I could easily chirp the wheels in 2nd. Are you shifting fast enough to keep the turbo spooled up? If you don't let the engine get in the upper RPM range, or you shift too soon, the turbo will have to spool back up, and you'll get some turbo lag, so you...
  48. Steering wheel "grinds" when turning, do I need power steering fluid?

It may also be your CV joints. Does it "grind" real bad when you accelerate and turn at the same time? Try turning your wheel to one extreme (right or left) while stopped, then give it gas and see if you hear the joints clicking. If you start off straight, and it doesn't click, it's probibly...
  49. dummy light question
