pulled the clutch master cylinder, it looks like it leaked pretty bad out the back (in car side) so I'll order a new one this friday, looks like another 2 weeks without my car....yay mitsubishi!:barf:
107k miles on it, I found some wetness on the carpet, so I think its the master, the slave looks fine. I'll check it later when its not so cold outsidethanks for the heads up guys!
car has been driving perfect since I got, had a ACT clutch put in not too long before I got it. All the sudden on the way home last night it was really hard to get it into gears, and just as I pulled into my space, the pedal lost about 75% of it's stiffness. this morning the pedal is still the...
It's somewhat normal to smell burning rubber with new belts as they break in. also, don't get wd-40 on your belts, it can cause them to fail early. I'd take it back to the shop you had it done at, and have them fix the metal sound.
yeah I had so much on my mind that day it somehow didn't even cross my mind till a week later when I need clear rtv for something else. I was like OH CRAP this same tube I used on the water pump! oh well, I'm not pulling it apart to swap sealant, so I'll have to hope it holds up for a while.
there is a little ball, and spring inside. Basically as you twist it, it makes it harder for air to pass, limiting the amount of pressure the wastegate sees, holding it shut for more boost. you don't really need to spend 70 bucks for this effect. so ebay mbc's usually work pretty good.
I just drove it around, and it seems ok....temp didn't get quite as high, and the rubber smell was present, but not as bad.any way to check the bs belt without removing all the belts, and the crank pulley? I really don't want to do all that, and find it's still intact.the more I think...
nope haven't checked that yet, I ran out of daylight. thanks for the idea though. I'm gonna check everything out sunday most likely. even if the balance shaft belt broke, it still wouldn't explain why it would start to overheat all the sudden.the water pump pulley is spinning freely, and...
I just did my timing belt/waterpump/bs belt last weekend, and the car has been running better than ever until today.I was cruising home at like 25 mph. Stopped at a stop sign, and all the sudden the revs seemed to feel really loose. For a brief moment the engine seemed to sound like it was...
yeah do it soon if you are unsure of the last time it was done. I bought my eclipse a few months ago w/ 105k on the clock, and the timing belt had NEVER been done....so I replaced it last weekend. it's not that hard to do...just time consuming.
I had a wrx, now I have a 95 GSX. If I could have afforded to keep it, there is no way I'd own the gsx right now.that said, I do love the eclipse, it's kinda like a baby wrx.
I installed my Turbo Timer today, and the ecu got reset from having the battery unplugged. when I finished, and started it up, the car has a really bad hesitation under 3k rpm until it warms up.
once warmed up the car drives like normal. I'm sure everything is hooked up correctly on the TT...
My car is sluggish to start up in cold weather. especially when left for a couple days with out starting. Is this the battery going out, or a symptom of something else?
