I'm getting p1500 CEL "generator circuit malfunction" coming on. I have voltage between "13.5-14.5v"I wired as follows.Stock Black/yellow wire to terminal "L" on GM connector
Terminal "S" of GM connector wired to distibution block at B+.Other 2 wires from stock harness are not...
I have adopted a plan close to m3oke on dsmtalk.com, I'm using a modified Audi rotor with a 32mm thickness, shaved 10mm off the caliper mounting. And fitted this under my 17" mb battles with no spacers. That was my personal goal to mount these beneath my 17" rims any way possible. Someone else...
I have about 2 pints of POR15. Anyone on here have any experience using it? I was planning on using the POR 15 after cutting all the rust out my passenger side strut tower and using it as a sealant. The drivers side doesn't have any visable rust damage yet. I also haven't really gotten in...
Quickly bolted up the CTS-V caliper last night. It did not come loaded, like I thought it would!! UGH! So I'm going to have to locate pins and springs and pads. They do fit underneath a 17" rim. The only huge problem is how far they stick out the CTS-V caliper's are very wide, wider than...
I'm mean obviously there is going to be more vibration probably not felt, but your bearings will not be very happy. I don't think it should keep you from driving it in a bind. But I would take care of it immediately.
There is nothing else that holds it in. You took the ballbearing out of the center diff to remove the output shaft out correct? Is the trans in the car or out? If the trans is in the car and you haven't taken the output shaft out most likely the shaft is stuck in the T-caseWhat happened to...
The stock EVO 8 knuckle mounting bolts are about .5" closer the inside of the rim than the stock 2g knuckle, meaning the caliper is pushed further away from the knuckle center. As we all have seen the EVO 8 mounting holes are directly over top and interfer with the 2g holes. The bracket he...
Yes, I'm on 17" rims. I have MB battles with a 38 offset, the spokes bend outwards so I think they will be more acomidating to the caliper than others types.I've doing some math and the CTS-V calipers sit approx .5" out further than Evo calipers when mounted up. Its gonna be sooo close.
Apperently, there are only 1 of the drivers hand side SS Brembos in the country, and 4 right hand side Brembos. So the CTS-V calipers are looking more of the choice.Update: Just went over to GM and ordered one CTS-V caliper for mock up. Should be here in a week.
Hmm that does look close. I guess the only way to find out is to try. Good work with the overlay it does make 1" look pretty minuscule, in my mind it seemed larger, hopefully that picture proves correct.
I'm not sure but it seems that the 13" rotors he put on his vehicle are correct in diameter, not the 14's unless a bracket is made. They way I see it. The CTS-V's caliper is bolted further away from the center of the knuckle on the caddy so it allows the 14" rotor to be bolted up. It seems...
Hey Glenn,I just read through the whole article here lots of good info, my old alts. on its way out charging 12.9-13.0. :barf: So i picked up a Saturn Atl. last night 16 bucks at the U-pull it. I haven't gone out to the car yet and inspected all the wiring colors but do you think you make...
You guys look like you had a great time.2 years in a row I have missed this meet because of a busted car. But I shall make it to E-town tommorrow. I got my car back up and running again last night. Be on the look out for my car come over say hello. How she sits as of 20 minutes ago.
I'll stop by this weekend and do some brainstorming this weekend with you. Be around? How long did you drive with the new turbo on for? When a turbo on mine blew up it took at least 200+ miles for the oil to burn out of the exhaust. Yes, after 20 miles I could idle the car with no smoke...
Well, I have figured it out. Looks as the thrust washers/side shims inside the center diff were worn out. This was wearing the output shaft. And finally so much play between the spiders broke the cross shaft and mangled the spiders. I honestly can't believe it went as far as it did and...
Alright I have located these part numbers thanks to Tim in another post. Here's a quote:The complete center differential is not directly sold as a complete unit from Mitsubishi. It comes in pieces only. Here are the part numbers for a 2G:Center diff case: MD741919
Pinion gear kit...
Okay, So after doing more research. Most Likely I'm going to remove my center diff. and inspect the side shims and try to just replace the worn shims. I know some have had no problems, but with 200k miles, I daily drive this car way more than I race it, I don't beat it. And I don't want to...
Update again Twicks if your still out there I know its been a little while but your input would be greatly appreciated. Okay so its 8 months later and 10,000 miles. The splines have stripped out again. So I have talked and called a couple other trans re builders. And I'm trying to understand...
Thanks 99,.424" is 10.78mm so all the tools I brought home were to large. I used the old 90 degree snap ring pliers. They worked a bit awkward thats all. I'll just pick up the tool sometime soon thanks.
Yah, I was looking for the distance between the two holes on the eccentric pulley.I just grab all the special tools I have laying around. I'll try them out when I get home and let you guys know what happens. If not Jayracing will be getting a call. :)Thanks for the help guys.
I'm at work, I don't have the car in front of me. I would like to get the tool before I get home, save myself alot of driving.I have a couple T-belt Eccentric Tensioner pulley's tools here. Does anyone have a Jayracing or OEM eccentric tensioner tool that they could measure the outer and...
Snow, Isn't that second pic an Extreme 2600 pressure plate though? My old pressure plate was a 2600 heavy duty and did not have the raised oval bumps.I think only recently have ACT changed and introduced the extreme 2600 pressure plate. I guess it really depends on how old that pressure...
Update!!Yes, Tony I was able to install my spare transfer case and limp to the dealership/garage. I received the 23 spline special thanks to Mike!!After I pulled the end case and removed the VC, witch I had to removed with a puller, really stuck. I removed the old T-case shaft looks...
Thanks Jack, do you know if 91-99 trans share the same 23 spline output shaft. I tried to check CAPS but they don't show you that shaft, The show all the other, input, intermediate, all the gears, no output shaft. There is a guy that has one but it looks like he has a 1g. So I'm really...
While driving tonight my output shaft to the t-case stripped. The car sits as of right now in a parking lot..ugh the 95 Tsi AWD with 193,000 miles it. I removed the t-case and the output shaft still has some splines about 50 percent what it used to be. The T-case looked to be about 25 percent...
Here are some pics from today. It was alright. A couple quick cars. The one the took the cake was the STI that hit second gear and the hood flew up :barf: I felt bad. I didn't take a picture i have been there and felt bad for the guy. Some of mine before the trip.
Alright i'm putting on my timing belt on the 6 bolt engine on the stand right now.I have put the belt on and taken it off about 10 times now trying to figure this out.The dowel are are 12o'clock. The 2 inner cam marks are alined at 3&9o'clock. But what about the outer marks on the...
02 sensors create there own voltage from about 0-1v. Same thing with knock sensors. There is no reference going to them. Things such as TPS, MPD sensors have a 5v reference supplied by the ECU
Hmm.. good info guys.. Yes. I am not using DSMlink. Just an AFCII and a logger. I am in New Jersey so i run sunoco 93oct. So I can not phyically advance my timing without messing with fuel side. I need dsmlink..lol. A couple more pulls today its hot and humid out here right now...
Alright I don't know if the pulls I did last night I was imagining things or what. But today on my way to the girlfriends house. I didn't bring the logger with me but 3rd gear pulls from 3k the wideband into boost read 10.3 to 10.9 to redline. I didn't change any setting from last night. I...
Thanks guys, is 39-40lb's/min a respectable number givin this set-up?I feel that in that pull considering I only went to 6200rpm, I think i would have got another degree or 2 of time by 7000rpm. I had to stop I thought I found a good place to do some pulls no traffic at all but tonight i...
I have been doing some logs.I have been trying to figure out why 3rd gear doesn't get full boost 24 psi till around 4400rpm. In 4th i will get full boost at 4100rpm. So i have an internaly gated SBRg50. I tightened up the adjustable actuator. And I have been getting some spike issues but...
