Talon Tsi-Supra-Evo!!!! - $7000http://ithaca.craigslist.org/cto/3017460848.htmlNot sure if anyone posted this yet, if so its probably worthy of a double post anyway. ha ha
Its not .3 over, it is .030 over. The increase in displacement would actually be .03 liters which is totally negotiable. People don't normally bore engines 30 over for performance gains, It is done to clean up the cylinder walls during the rebuild.

You said "What he did, was take some washers and weld them to the joint so it wouldn't flex, he said. " The first link I posted is what the kid did. Welding the trailing arms is a toe eliminator. There is nothing your going to weld to the stock trailing arm to make it stronger. It is a very...
Cheap Solution - Projects & Mods - Rear SuspensionBetter Solution - Jay Racing Active Rear Toe Eliminator Kit For 1G AWD DSM [ATE1] - $175.00 : Jay Racing
I'm Cleaning up the wiring of my 1g. There is a relay looking box on the driver side rear seat area, near the seat belt control box / rear wiper relay. It has part number MB530319 on it. I have searched and can't find any info on it. Does anyone know what it controls? I attached a pic showing...
The groove is from an oil pan bolt rubbing it. There are a few oil pan bolts that are shorter than the others, and are supposed to be used for the front cover area.
I haven't seen anything posted on any of the DSM forums about this event. It should be a great day long event, and the more dsm's the better. I have nothing to do with the organization of this event, I just wanted to be sure everyone knew about it.Here is the event flyer:Here is...
I've done an automatic to manual swap on my 92 awd. You need to use the manual mid plate, the auto one won't work. The auto and manual starters are the same, I'm still using my old automatic one. I'm 90% sure the fwd starter is the same as the AWD starters.
I just recently put my hx-35 on my 6 bolt. I have been using a 2g mass and a keydiver chip with the 16g for a while now with out any problems. With the new turbo my idle air fuel ratio is all over the place. The car constantly wants to stall at idle. Ive tried numerous things but nothing seems...
When I did it i just took the switch out of the console and left it hidden under the console on power mode. Then I bought another power/eco switch from the junkyard and wired it for high/low boost.
The gears look different because the intake has the cam angle sensor trigger plate bolted to it. One has the timing mark on the tooth and the other cam gear has the timing mark between the teeth because there is an odd number of teeth on the gears.
Both 1g's and 2g's have separate control units for the engine and transmission. The reason the 1g's have different ecu's for a auto and manual is the fact that the autos came factory equipped with smaller 390cc injectors. As stated, it is located directly behind the Engine ecu in a horizontal...
It could be that your coolant cooled oil cooler has corroded through. This recently happened to me, a very small pin hole developed inside my cooler which pumped about a quart of oil into my coolant.
When you removed your power steering how did you do it? I have heard alot of different aguements about caping or looping the lines, and if you should drain the rack, or fill the rack with fluid. From your experience what did you do?
Using the bcs as a solenoid for a dual stage boost controller setup should work fine. You mount the bcs under the hood, and run the wires from the toggle to the bcs, not run boost lines into the cabin.
Its not the sender because my stock gauge and my autometer gauge are both reading high. I ran some of that gunk engine flush through the engine, and the oil pressure went way down, but its still higher that it used to be. Im going to use some more motor flush and change the oil one more time and...
I checked it out and the oil cooler isn't clogged like I was hoping it was, I also took out the bolt and spring, but the piston and spring slide freely. Does anyone else have any ideas? Thansks, Kevin
I have a 92 turbo TSi, the other day I went to drive it home from work and noticed the at idle the factory oil pressure gauge was about in the middle, as soon as I pulled out and went above 1,500 RPM's the gauge pegged the whole way to max. I coasted the car home going about 10 mph. I took the...
The EGR valve is normally closed with nothing hooked up to it, and to open the valve, the plunger must move up towards the intake side. So if the vacuum lines are unhooked the more boost you make, the more the valve is pushed shut. If you are really concerned you could run a vacuum line from the...
Im going to do the auto to manual swap soon and have all the parts I need. I have a 4 bolt lsd rear end in my car now, but as said above with the 5 speed tranny I need to change to the rear end of a 5 speed. The 5 speed rear I have is a 3 bolt lsd. Is it possible to use my old 4 bolt axels with...
My water pump gasket started leaking on me so I decided it was time to try retarding the exhaust cam. I retarded it exactly 3.5 degress. The engine idles normal and doesn't sound any different than it used to, but it does feel as though it pulls harder up top where the stock cams and 16g used to...
Im really interested in this. I have stock cams in my car now, and I have an old set of cam gears, so i was thinking of doing what dsm-onster did. I was planning on machining a new hole in the gear to give me around a 3.5 degree retard. From what I have read on the forums, and have been told, 7...
No that whole resistor thing was just a myth that a guy at the track told me. If you want to swap out the 390's with 450's you have a few options.
1)If you have an EPROM ecu you can get a custom chip programmed for the 450's
2)You can just put in an ecu and fuel pressure regulator from a 5...
I have a 92 tsi, with 780 injectors, and an keydiver chip, and an SAFC1. I have been trying to tune it for awhile and I thought the problem was my hacked 1g mas. So I just went to the 2g mas. I reset the ecu and raised my fuel trims up to +30% across the low throttle trims. My low throttle...
Check out this mod http://www.rmtmods.ca/manual%20shift.htm . I did it to my car and it works great. It similar to the "boost box" but with this you have to manually shift the transmission up. You can short shift the gears, which is really cool. But downshifting is highly not recommended while...
I haven't looked at the plugs really close yet, im in school and dont get much time to work on the car during classes. This weekend ill take a closer look at the plugs. The last time I pulled them I saw what Im pretty sure was oil on one of them, but I'll double check.
The last compression test i did was a dry one when i got 165 across all cylinders, I will try a wet one this weekend, and redo the dry one. I totally unhooked the pcv from the intake for awhile so im sure thats not the issue. Im not sure if ill be able to have a leakdown test done for a few...
I have a 92 TSi with about 6000 miles on the new engine, and I keep burning oil. When the car is left idleing the smoke slowly starts to come out the tailpipe, and then after it idles for awhile, and you rev it a big cloud comes out. I had the head all checked out and rebuilt, when I rebuilt the...
I used another tps to get the signal, but you can't use the false .5 volt signal all the time unless you only drive the car on the track, and never want to downshift, or kick down. The mod should only be engaged when you are manually WOT up shifting.
I would think it would work on a 2g, just the wires would probably be different colors, but I can't say for sure because I don't know much about 2g tranny's. But to answer your second question if you try to pull out in D it shifts up to drive or even overdrive if you have the OD button pushed...
I have methanol injection and it works really well, but i will agree with most other people that methanol injection is not a replacement for an intercooler.
yeah, i agree it would be very interesting to hear what those Ohm values are. I also agree that many things are very overpriced, but thats why i preffer to do all my own work, and construct my own parts when possible.
halik008 i agree with you. Back in September i posted about the outrageous price of the "boost controller" on atdsm.com. "Well considering that it is a small box with a knob, and that it only intercepts the signal between the TCU and transmission using one input wire and one output wire, without...
