If not the same brand or series, then im sure machining would need to be done correct? I guess what Im asking is what are the measurement that need to be taken into account. I have access to machinery.
What would be to be done to swap an exhaust housing on a turbo in order to use it for a different exahaust manifold and dp? For example if one would want to use a big16g on an sr20det, i would need to use a compatible sr20 exhaust housing for it to bolt up to the stock manifold and downpipe.
Can anyone recommend a submersible fuel hose that can withstand e85? I used the regular rubber hose that came with the walbro 255 kit. Recently took the fuel pump out and small rubber hose was hard as a rock and the and the whole pump was starting to slide off of the pickup tube.
As Maes said your question has already been answered. To answer again, Even if you do the screwdriver test and the piston is at its highest point, doesnt necessarily mean that your timing marks are lined up. The most likely answer to your issue is that the balance shaft is out of sync and needs...
So I just had an issue in my fuel tank and had to drop the whole thing on my 91t MR2. This is a huge pita! I bought the fuel pump off a member here and bought the install kit on ebay. The kit did not fit right but figured I could make it work, well it worked...for almost a year. In the last...
I have a gen4 swapped 3sgte and the tuning options are non existent. Many mr2 guys are running hondata in earlier gen 3sgte. I thought why not run dsmlink on my gen4. I'm wondering what parameters does the dsm Ecu need from my 3s to be able to run this system?
Im trying to replicate these bends for ic piping project. This will be my first attempt at making my own piping. For the most part my guess that the top pipe is a 3" intake 45* angle. The bottom 2 pipes seem like 45* bends but the big hook part im lost. Could anyone confirm or have any input?
Im the turbo MR2 community there has been a shift towards running without a bov. Having been part of the DSM community for over 12+ years and gaining much of my turbo knowledge from dsm's this just sounded strange to me. I would like to hear from you guys as to what you think about not running a...
I picked up a pair of Corbeau fx1 pro's and just got around to installing them. I also have a 5 point harness that goes along with that. When I sit down Im pretty much sitting on top of the sub belt hole. So if the sub belt would be fastened it would need to wrap around my junk as the belt comes...
I have the hallman evo pro mbc and just recently picked up the in cabin controller. For the life of me though cannot figure out how to install the add on to the boost controller body itself. I took out the spring, ball, and adjustment shaft from the bottom. Here are some pix of what i have. The...
What gets me is that it comes and goes, shake isnt constant as it would be normally as a wheel balance issue. I cant think of how the shake could just be intermittent.
I've had no luck from the Mr2 forums, so I came to where I always know I can get some help. Over the past winter on this mr2 I've replaced all ball joints, struts, tie rods, bushings, and even new wheels and tires all road force balanced. My problem is my steering wheel shakes at 60mph +. The...
I just picked up a gtech pro competition on ebay. It came with old firmware installed and gtech no longer has the newer firmware up on their site. I'm wondering is anyone here has the firmware handy or know where to get it from?
Since my turbo had thrust play, shouldnt my thrust plate/collar be in pretty bad shape? What else could cause the play? During disassemble process i kept pulling the shaft in and out to see if i could locate the culprit and noticed the collar in the oil shield to be moving in and out as i did...
LOL Justin you're good! Close but its a CT20b the CT26 much better cousin lol. But ya this is the only damage that is done turbine housing/wheel are fine.
I have never been a PTE turbo fan ever since they started making crap for dsm's with the scm turbos. I went through 3 of them twice rebuilt by them. After last rebuild I sold it to a friend and he suffered the same results, as well as couple of other local guys who were in on the same group buy...
Is this turbo done? It had some thrust play and there is some light scoring on the comp housing and you can see that the comp wheel had been rubbing on the housing. Will a new comp wheel be needed?
Here is the inside of the housing, very light scratching could bearly feel it. No scoring at all...
Will a turbo with in out play be repairable with a rebuild kit? I was told that in these cases that machining will usually have to be done to the shaft itself. How do I know if machining of any kind is needed while i have it apart?
I'm looking into getting a used turbo that need a rebuild. I know the oil seals are bad and it has in and out thrust play on the shaft. Can the in out shaft play be fixed by using a rebuild kit? Do most rebuild kits include thrust parts?
The gtech was pretty damn accurate i remember using that thing back in the day and it was always within a .1 in the 1/4 mile. Never tried the dyno function on it. I would have assumed that technology has advanced within the last 7 years or so.
I'm just wondering if its possible to wire up the aem wideband to be able to datalog via emanage blue? I would like to be able to see my af ratios power rpm to make tuning easier. By the way this is not for my dsm its for my mr2, I ask here since mr2 forums are about useless.
Go to an autozone and rent a coolant pressure tester. It will pressure up your coolant system and if there are any leaks it will start spraying our leaking out.
That mechanic is a moron or installing them wrong if he can't torque them right. You are making the right decision with arps but wrong decision on the mechanic.
Well for the last month or so I've made 4 would be transactions. Me and the seller agree upon a price and I promptly send payment. Every transaction then will issue a refund a few days later with no explanation. Is there some sort of scam going on? I get my full refund but I just find it strange...
I bought some illuminas quite sometime ago (over 5 years) for both my dsm and mr2 so I no longer have a reciept or even remember the vendor i bought them from. I know that these have a lifetime warranty, as this was the reason i purchased them. Now time has taken their toll on them as the fronts...
What are the differences between a regular piggyback such as the safc and dsmlink? Not taking about features but in the way they work. Generally everyone says piggybacks suck but many love dsmlink.
Im wondering if anyone has this and does it work w/ dsmlink? Im in the market for a wideband kit finally, and this looks right up my alley. I dont need a gauge or display, since I would just be reading the a/f ratios off my laptop if this were to work w/ dsmlink. Would this be the kit work...
