There is many theorys on why and how it fails, but i know some people that have over 120k on there orignal 04/05 engines. But the new 09's do have the 2nd design of the OMP, and havent had any issues "yet" as you said.yeah, its not so bad, im on the new engine, it has 6k on it when i bought it...
Call IPT trans in NJ, and see what they can do for ya, shift kit and extra goodies for the auto. I had a AWD 2g and let me tell ya, 320hp with shift kit and let me tell ya, it was a fun ride...but if you must go to a 5spd, trans, with matching tq (if awd) front axles/rear end (if awd)...
I fell ya, Sold my AWD AT and got an 04 Nordic Green Mica RX8 4sp/4port auto... What year is it and how many miles? 04's run out in a few months, 05/06 etc, been reading up(past 6months), and planing on a few upgrades my self. BUT...I LOVE IT, so i know what you mean.
yeah well, when your 14b break in turbo desides to let lose and blow oil all over the place, and you need your car running, i had to spend it on a Evo3 and such lol... but I'm stoked to see what they look like so when yours comes in, grab a few pic's for us others to drewl on etc... But come...
wicked, now if only this was about a month sooner, i've already spent my tax money lol, but its sure nice to see them for us auto guys, deffently will pick up them here in the spring when i drop the 2.3 in :D
ok,I've pulled my hair out for the last time. this past monday I thought my 14b blew, and it was a oil mess nightmare.Ordered new feed/return's(yes 2, different story) and gaskets as well as an Evo3 from Extreme. All came fine etc.I installed the feed line adaptor with the washer...
88... more like a 98 ;)but yeah there was a local 97 Spyder that just needed a head gasket and a super clean up job for $675, i would have gotten it if the taxes didn't take there sweet time getting back...Good find :D
^ is right about the gloves, i have to in the winter or they would go frostbyte faster than normal people
< Is waiting for UPS to show up with parts to get the DiSM back on the road
V Probably waiting on parts too..
well the trans is going to need to be droped to get to the Tq. and to some thats a pitta but for me, meh a few hours.as for the end clutches, you can do that with the trans in the car. IPT sells the kit, and the book to walk you threw it, and there is a site out there that has a nice guide...
when i built this back up, i used grey gasket maker for the tstat housing to block, no o-ring. Now on the waterpipe ends, yes there is new orings but the leak is not coming from that, i checked that, at least i can see/get to for that matter. Wed's it goes to the shop, and they are going to do...
thats where my friends are saying (have this posted else where) but its hard to say, going to rent a pressure tester, and have a few extra eyeballs to see. I hope its just lose or something its to dam cold out to mess with it.
all my DSM buddys are 3hrs away, and the local ones here are jerks and riced out....with me not working, the wife working and both of us in school and just comming out of the Christmas funding, im flat out busted broke lol.going to call advance as i seen one online for 52 bucks by Stant...
yeah thats a problem, dont have the tools to do that, so its a shop job and im flat out busted till tax time, and that was going to get me a new turbo lol... key word "WAS"
Ok, i've been fighting with this car since i got it back on the road two years ago.I've fixed everything known to these cars for the rebuild and its just stock with a 14b. I plan on doing an upgrade but as always with these blasted cars, something comes up to stop thouse future plans.I...
Your orginal part number was MD185539 but that was superseeded by MD308587.
Build date 10.3.94you can use the later 2g one you just have to trim the inner part of your lower timing belt cover or get a 97+ belt cover. Thats what i did. saved some money.
im really starting to think that this 14b is on its way out. Its like a hairdryer and could be my soul issue with this idle and temps. Went to the car wash about 11 blocks away so about maybe a mile if that. I get there and the idle is bouncing around , wash the car, bring it home and its...
yeah i could of just done that, but its not what im going for. I had a stock SMIC to use till i get paid, the wifes gst (currently down for trans and engine rebuild) had a jpipe for the stock SMIC so i used that but it doest work with the FP intake. So thats why im hunting down a different jpipe...
i sent them an email. i'll wait a few (maybe a day or so) and give them a call. I'm still buggin about the side mount, i just should hack the crap out of the 2gb talon bumper and put my fmic back on but a one man operation stinks lol.
i got it, 1/8npt fitting, i have a tap/dye set, and thankfuly it worked. Another big issue is the Jpipe. It doest like the FP huge intake. I had to use the wifes stock one for now. I dont know who made the jpipe but it was on her car, it needs pulled to the front right corner about 1inch to fit...
yeah thats what i thought but i dont know any welders etc.....so ill see if i can get the nipple out of the old pipe and drill and tap , and maybe Jbweld??? i just want my car back lol
ok, i've read every thing about supra SMIC's and well i have one now.but funding is low and i cant get the new SMIC pipes from extreme psi so i have to do with what i have. The fmic piping i have , the one pipe off the jpipe has a nipple and i use that for my EBC for a boost source...
yeah that guide brian and his brother did, helped me figure out what that one connector was for (purge valve) same color wires, but different connectors.
ok, i've looked and found some info but not to the point of "ok thats what im lookng for"Im putting in a AT trans in my wifes car, Converted from MT. Its a 99gst. I got a few AT parts but they are from a 96 AWD. Shifter and cables no biggy, there all the same.BUT the Tcu is out of an...
a few connectors on the 95 will not connect to the sensors in the 97. BUT depending on the year they might, as im doing a MT to AT swap in a 99 and got a 97 harness and the purge valve connector is different so you may get lucky in that since, but you have a CAS as the 95 doest so you may need...
brining it back from the dead.so some brakets, and flipping the one side end tank is all that is needed? I have a 2gb talon bumper that i do not want to hack up , as i have the PR front mount and a eclipse bumper before, but i dont plan on going to the moon in this thing, 18g maybe the new...
it depends on the build date. I found that the break switch for the pedal was used till early 97 and then they changed it over , different mounting and switch for the breaks.check the build dates and the wiring.
2g's you do not need to change the ECU. Unless you want a 95 Eprom ecu. Auto or manual are the same. You are confusing the 1g's with the 2g's.other then that, grab DSM Link and your other mods will work nice for what you are looking to get.
hey you never got back to me about the spoiler and the rear. Guy hasnt come picked up the front , and if he doesn't i'll let ya know. Make a deal or something.looks good!
wow, thats a bit of info, but a simple picture would help me lol. I dont plan on atempting what these brave soals have done, mad props to them.a picture would tell me quicker, and the more i read into it, i think its fine but just need to double up, the prev's owner said every thing worked...
ok, I need a pic or someone tell me if I'm missing something...have a 99gst that im rebuilding for the wife, and notice that one of the fusible links AKA big A$$ fuse was busted/blown and the other missing. So i got them and noticed that on the 60amp that there is only 1 wire to the box facing...
it wasn't ment as a put down, i say bring it!! i showed a few people and well they now shut their traps when talking down 4g63's and us 4cly's guys... :hellyeah: :hellyeah:
