I still have a 1g aluminum radiator I bought from Ken Bacon (Indy race cores) in about 1999 for my third Dsm at that time, oh Im getting old. Going on 15 years, 15 Dsm's and three Evo's later I sure am starting to feel the generation gap between the fresher Dsm crowd I run into these days and...
I just bought a Translab TL-175 shift kit and got it today. In one of the plastic baggies there is a piece of paper with this note on it:"TEMPORARY SUBSTITUTION: "SILVER SHIM SPRING" not included. Drop BALL down into valve bore of upper valve body casting in place of the shim spring...
LAME. I went out and bought some huge sunglasses and a big hat just for today! I already have the cooler in the backseat of my car too! Oh well, maybe friday.Carissa
Well we haven't had a DSM that runs in quite some time. Both of ours finally run so we will be at the Mukilteo meet, but the 1g doesn't have any fans on it so we probably won't be driving that in this heat. We'll probably end up bringing my 2g.Carissa
Man, I wish we didn't live in BFE sometimes. Bryan doesn't get off until 5:30 so we probably wouldn't be there until 7 or so. How late does it go?Carissa
usually smoking on decel after warming up is worn valve guides. The low cylinder is rather odd though. Have you tried a little oil in the low cylinder and retesting it?Bryan
So has anyone actually used a 94mm eagle crank? I dont see a std 150mm rod with a 94mm stroke and a 3mm raised pin being a difficult combo to put togeather?Bryan
You better get your ass up to Seattle and I dont want to hear anymore crying about "it might rain!!!!!!" I cant belive you told me that on the phone...It might rain????????? the Evil Eagle aint sugar yknow she will survive!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Well to be real picky You would want to use an Evo III exh mani with the factory fire ring to prevent gasket failures. seeing this is a Honda I think it will be fine unported manifold side.
Bryan
3065 2.3l spools quick good power. Johnnytsi rocks a 3052 2.3l. Seems to work just fine 11.16 for him. I moved to a gt42r just wating on my manifold and such.

Watch out for Wiseco's there have been issues with them cracking skirts. With no scuffing, wear, or improper clearance so dont get deffensive please :) Ross proven time and time again.

I have had this happen to a few of my friends cars and I swear to you I tossed a new belt on them and did a cpmpression test all three times they were fine. I have no idea how but everytime so far heads were fineWTF Toss a new belt on it and do a compression test before you rip into it it may be...
On a 90 ecu its a little tougher. Someties if there an early unit they just have a goofy sticker so this may not apply, but typically in the lower LH corner I belive it was there will be either an A an M or an E. The E is a good way to tell its E-prom. Of sourse if you look inside and there is a...
The only thing I have noticed is driving through parking lots and having to feather the clutch more. But no stalling really but I do know your not the only one so dont be too concerned. If possible try rasing you idle mines 1050 for example this may take care of it, its worth a shot.
Bryan
This is actually the exact tool I own/use. Works like a champ!!! worth ever penny.

HAHAHA thats awsome. I thought he was done with boosted stuff after his dsm adventure. His old 50trim lives on skunkedtsi's car(tyler also) and has turned 11's so far. Kinda strange how things turn out. Well if you see him tell him I said what up! And someone setup up a meet on sunday for christ...
Oh shit man that was a LONG time ago lol I have not talked with Tyler for a while last I heard he was working at a Napa up there in b-town. I dont remember seeing a GVR4 when I was there though.

The use of copper spray is up to personal preference I have alwasy used it on the OEM 4 layer gaskets with GREAT results, its available at almost any autop parts store in their sealer or rtv section its usually manufactured by permatex. Absolutly NO RTV!!! do not use rtv on anything if you can...
If your head is warped or out of spec you are going to need to machine it regardless of your gasket choice. A composit gasket is typically more forgiving than a steel type gasket when it comes to surface irregularities, however I have intalled the OEM 4 layer gasket many times on un touched...
I have had to repair a DNP manifold that was tapped without a bung that blew out. A bung is a MUST for reliability reasons you dont want to have to worry about repairing a stripped out hole in your manifold.

Well to be honest I have held over 35psi on the stock composit gasket with arp headstuds on my fp3065 with no failures. We have also run an fp3052 at 33psi with a 50 shot of nitrous will no ill effects. The mitsu 4 layer I have never found the limitations on and I am using the new Fel Pro on my...
That is a pretty quiet pull for showing such a lean condition. Is your o2 sensor really old by chance? Slow reacting while oscilating between lean and rich readings at cruise are good signs of a tired o2 sensor.
Bryan
I could see this happening but I have the mitsu p/n for the td05h/td06 20g so I would lean away from this as a common practice. But as stated above a compressor cover will be needed or some machining of td05h(b16g/18g) cover can be made to fit a 20g compressor wheel search "bastard 20g".
Bryan
Too be honest its not a varient it is a gt35r with the smaller E cover and precisions Mitsu bolt in housing. Not trying to be pickey just wanted the correct info out there.
Later gents :)

It is a hit and miss deal with Cometic gaskets in my experience. I have used the OEM 4layer along wth MANY others and never had problems with them great bang for the buck. Another posibility is Fel Pro's new addition to the 4g63 MLS headgasket world, a bit pricey but looks to be great quality...
The ACT2600 with a street disc is a proven winner. I have run many of these clutches with nothing but great results. I say dont try and re invent the wheel, rock what works. I have used the SBR3500 I will not get into specifics but I have had less than favorable results with it and went back to...
