yes you can, but before you go trying to turn up the boost and buy aftermarket parts, make sure that your cars maintenance is up to par. No need turning up the boost if your car isnt running right to begin with
personally with your nt, I would spend money on a cam. Just rebuild the thing back with stock components. new rings and bearings, get the crank checked for wear. Nothing over the top if you want it to stay reliable
In 1g's motor for motor (no drivetrain loss) manuals have more power. The autos get weaker cams and a smaller turbo. In 2g's they both get the little t25 so motor for motor they are the same
If you are having no problems with the gsx, I dont see a need to get rid of it. Just keep it and put some more money into it. No need to blow the full 10g's on the car though
The swap is possible, but it tends to give people headaches with the driveability. You aer going tohave to swap the harness and mounts out of the car. Also need to put in the new computer of course. The guy that did it locally also said he had to swap out the dash display. It was definitely...
To add, I would do a compression check as well to see what condition the motor is in. Like thesickness said, I would also ask when the timingbelt was last done. If the owner doesnt know/remember, I would go ahead and change it just to make sure it is in good shape.
datalogger should have been your first step. I would think about getting it very soon. We can tell you all day what you need to run/should run, but the only real way to see how your car is handling the mods is to datalog it.
Do a general check of everything on the car. Carfax? compression check? check the turbo over as well? Make sure everything on the car works the way it should. Do not be afraid to get on the car a bit when you test drive it.
THe first time I got pulled over I had just got my new talon. I was riding around with some friends and got stopped because the cop said he couldnt see my dealers tags. He ended up letting me go with a "warning". Accoriding to him the tag wasnt in the right place or something.
