I'd go against having wheel spacers. I've had a 1" wheel spacer on my car and had one fall off while driving. Thankfully I was only going 20-30mph.

Alright so I finished mine last night. I didn't even use the elbow that came with the kit like I had planned to use and cut off the flange. I just used a 90 degree coupler and put a 3" gm maf to fill the gap. Everything fit perfectly.

You might not want to do this but my exhaust used to hit my lower rear tie bar and I cut a coupler and tied it to the bar. Perhaps you can do this to the pipe?
