Wd40 is like water. Try some break away or some pb blaster. It will still fight you though. I'vealways had to take them off with a giant pair of chanel locks that I have.
the intermediate shaft is different 91-96 then 97-99. 91-96 it bolts through the ac bracket to the block in 97-99 it bolts to the ac bracket. you can use a 91-96 on a 97-99 but you must also use the ac bracket from the same.
There is a little white piece of plastic under the hood on the gear selector it is prob worn. pull it off turn it 90* and put it back on, i also got rid of the rubber in the mount for the shifter cables . go to the hardware and get some washers to fit it, I had to trim mine to fit inside the...
it doent't matter it is a safty recall. they have to do it for the life of the car. unless they put on a revised part. which they do but it is still crap.
2g the mounting flange for the turbo is perftly square evo it has a slight angle on the two sides. see http://roadraceengineering.com/parts/evo/evoman-2gman2.jpg
I also have the 6152. I personally don't mind the lag, but that is just a matter of opinion. I still haven't gotten it tuned right yet, because some ahole decided to blow out my windows and i have a major leak in my wategate, but as is it runs well.
from building motors. I have broken in all of the motors that i have built like that and every one has not had a problem. it was passed onto me from another builder that i knew that built motors for race cars in the 70s. the majority of problems are from machining or not building it to right...
that sounds like an error in the building process. your going to have to pull it apart and re-hone and put some new rings in it. your rings are just about broke in in the first 20 miles of driving. everything that is left is tiny.rules for breaking in a motor
1 no syn oil for 2000 miles...
I just clamped it in a vise and pulled it apart with a pair of vice grips, but I did break the first one. On a side note. I'm prob going to put my pcv system back in place because I don't like the smoke coming out of my hood when i stop at a light, parking lot, ect.
If I read that right you have a hollow pcv valve hooked to a catch can then to the intake. If so then unplug it from the intake and cap the intake side. The pcv valve is a 1 way valve that lets pressure out but not in, if you hollowed it out then you are boosting your crankcase aswell.
my boxer got hit by a car. i found him in the humane sociaty 3 hours after he got out. i was ok untill i got him to the hospital, then i balled my eyes out. he's fine now after about 3500 dollars which was a hard decision (thats more then i paid for my car), and hes still my buddy.
You can only put a 1g maft on a 2g if it is version 2.xx. The same with the 2g on a 1g.EDIT: sorry didn't realize how old this thread was before i posted.
Mine is doing the exact same thing. It gets really annoying when your smoking out of the hood and your g/f says your car smells. heh. I think I'm going to put the pcv back in.
Boost leak tests only test the intake tract, not the exhaust. if he wanted to find an exhaust leak the only thing i can think of is seafoam and watch for smoke.
If your mount is cracked then you can't use inserts, you have to either
a: put an uncracked mount in then put inserts in.
b: replace it with total replacement from prothane.
c: fill mount with window weld. http://www.raktron.com/misc/mt.htm or
d: put peices of cutting board in the holes...
I had a buddy that had micky thompson sportsman pros on his car and they were sticky and wrinkle wall. hooked awesome but they sucked for driving on. he ended up hitting someone because of them. and they did wear out fast. can't say how fast but I don't think he got a summer out of them.
2 g fwd have them 1gs fwd and awd and 2g awd don't. and you don't need to swap ecus. all you have to do is cut the resistors out of the 2g fwd ecu and it is gone.
Another thing is rally racing. How many people die from that when a car goes into the crowd? but no one here has any problems with that. Everybody there knows whats going on. Where I used to go it was the same way. It was blocked off by everyone there, so if anyone did get hurt they were...
I'm sorry for your loss also, but what doe's this have to do with street racing. Maybe the kid was late getting somewhere. etc. At the very most the closest I see it being to street racing is an inexperienced 18 year old kid driving like a tool thinking he can drift his car. drifting dosen't...
It was real notchy, and it didn't shift smoothly into the next gear. It kinda caught from 2-3, made me miss alot of shifts. Since I put the redline in i can now downshift 1st at 60, not that its needed but that tells me that the syncros are working alot better now. Also I put a mix of 1qt mtl...
