Well that number didn't work. I can't believe it's this hard to source and locate a damn OEM brake master cylinder. I don't want to go aftermarket because OEMs last forever if taken care of. Anyone want to throw me a bone as to where I can buy a brand new OEM unit?I found some shifty looking...
Well it looks like all these master cylinders are all interchangeable but the difference in prices makes me confused as to the actual differences. I'll likely end up ordering #4 in the list above. I'll report back if it works. I promise! There's too much information on this site without resolutions.
I did a search but couldn't find the information I need. My master cylinder is toast in my 92 TSi AWD and I need to find a replacement.Mitsu ASA shows a few different options for my model car. I'm assuming I will need to order #3 or #4 but am unsure as to the difference. Again, I'm assuming...
I like to follow up my threads with results. There's too much information that dies without any follow-up on this site. I went with the home made option. Thanks wrencher.
Ok. So here's the deal. I have an old fuel sending unit that I will be adding a bulk fitting to to supply more fuel but my electrical connections are kinda looking ratty. I'd like to upgrade them. I just don't know where I can find an electrical stud that will insulate itself from the metal...
I'll keep this short and sweet. The center diff has nothing to do with the front diff. The front diff mediates power between the two front tires. The center diff mediates power to the back wheels in an AWD car.Your car is FWD so by welding the center diff, you're locking it together so that...
The reason most of us hate on this type of botchery is because you took a car that had class, sporty lines, great curves & modern car appeal and turned it into a car with no lines or curve flow that doesn't have an ounce of class left in it. You definitely made it ugly. How anyone on Earth could...
I run the stock HX-35 turbine housing for a Dodge Ram. It's kinda laggy. I've posted up dsmlink logs in the past so I'm sure a few holset guys would know better. I don't notice the lag much as it's not that important in the 1/4 mile and I CAN'T open it up on the street anyway.
Granted it's been a while since I've done a stock rebuild, I've always had to cut OEM piston rings. Sometimes I get lucky and don't have to cut much if any at all but more times then not, I cut them. Factory numbers are in the FSM or even a Haynes manual.
If you plan on modifying a harness, you better know what to take out and what not too. What I mean by this is that if you have enough confidence to modify a harness, you shouldn't have to ask anyone what can and can't be removed.
And I bet you get a lot of the "well at least you have a job" comments from everyone 20+ years your senior. Welcome to my world. I was just about OUT of this place with my new position laid out for me and it was going to be a brand new life of honest work which I enjoyed to do. I was in that...
After 8 years owning a Talon, my dad finally asked to go for a ride. Just prior to this winter, we went out for a simple 2-3 gear pull. The third gear got cut off early due to the stupid speeds. The car was virtually untouched from the week before when I went 11.2@130+MPH so you can imagine how...
Nope. The center diff is in the transmission. If you want to run an AWD tranny, you just have to make sure the center diff is welded together or a VCE is installed. Add that with two AWD axles and you're golden. I even think the axle on the driver side will help combat torque steer.
If you are looking for the easiest method out of smoking, you have to seriously develope a distaste for the smokes.I used to have a few cigarettes on weekends with beers, friends and with j's. After most of my friends quit, the cold weather moved in and I bought a vaporizer to replace the...
This is an old one. Except the punch line is supposed to be, "I had the worst round of golf of my life today, but at least I got laid."I think it's funny both ways since they are my two summer-weekend things to do.
It doesn't take much to take off the end case and crank down (110 ft-lbs) on the nuts. It's about a half hour job. Just make sure you RTV the case before you put it back on.
My compression fitting leak as well. I'm researching compatible fittings and I'll post up what I find and use after. These Devil's Own fittings just suck. I went through two sets of fittings in 3 months. They hold for a while, but I think the meth is breaking down the seals inside and causing leaks.
That would be the single most uncomfortable ride ever in the history of bikes... if that's what you want to call it."I hit a pothole and my 10 foot long front structural member buckled and impaled my body."
I got the overspray of bear-mace. It's similar to pepper spray, except it's more potent. Just the overspray alone had the right side of my face, my right eye and right arm in a burning state for 3+ days. Needless to say, if you actually go through with this... you're an idiot. The ball's in your...
Just don't over torque the studs and you'll be fine. In fact I'd guess that ARP's torque specs are on a low side because many people believe that over torquing is a good thing. ARP likely designs their studs for such an occasion.
There are two sides to the story. Unfortunately you probably don't know the other side of the story. Whose to say he didn't put the boost up and run around the street like a mad man? You don't just toss a rod through the block at 300ish HP unless it wasn't assembled correctly OR the motor was...
Pressure plate is an RPS 2500. They stopped making these plates years ago. It has about 40,000 miles on it and about an easy 100 runs at the strip.Meh, you can call me Mr. Adequate. I don't just buy the latest and greatest stuff because of the times. The old RPS still works with a generic...
I run a sprung 6-puck in my set-up. It engages very smoothly and holds gobs of power. After having it in the car since spring 2005, it popped a disk spring and I was forced to change it last month.
It seems as if you have no slop in your pedal assembly and your master cylinder is all the way out. That should give you all the extension you need to release the clutch disk. You're going to have to look for worn out parts now (ie - pivot ball, bent clutch fork, pivot ball seat in the clutch...
It sounds to me like a disengagement issue for sure. I'd bet money on it. Your transmission is probably fine but you aren't doing it any favors by driving it and grinding it. I'll start off by asking the easier questions;1. Master cylinder adjustment rod is extended fully?2. If you push...
I've been battling uphill ever since I upgraded my fuel system. As it sits right now, I have a walbro 255 in tank that has a 5/16" fuel injection line clamped with a fuel injection clamp. That is then connected to a fitting at the sending unit and out of the tank. Everything is tight prior to...
Your mom's boyfriend is a deadbeat loser and if your mom isn't sticking up for you in the situation, you may want to re-think the relationship you have with her as well.
I suppose I should have mentioned that the 044 pump isn't electrically hooked up. Basically speaking, the only pump working is the in-tank 255. I just need to put the led on for the negative terminal on the 044 when I get home from work to see if it fixes the relief valve issue.
My fuel pressure gauge reads 37psi like normal. I wonder if adding the Bosch 044 inline pump when I did my fuel system upgrade is causing such a restriction, that it's seeing that high of pressure (80+psi) in the lines pre-inline pump but good fuel pressure (40psi @ idle) after the pump. My idea...
I've been having a hard time trying to start my car since the fuel system upgrade and I suspected the old walbro is hurt. I've been getting a lot of leaking past my sending unit to tank seal, even with a 1/4 tank of gas. I found this weird so I did some investigating. I lifted my sending unit...
I lifted the sending unit while the car was started to see where the fuel was coming from. It is definitely coming from a small port on the top of the fuel pump that is right beside the fuel feed nipple. Any ideas if that's normal or not?
