It's been a while since I did this swap, but crimson is correct. The old plug under the hood needs jumpered to actively start the car and on that same plug the reverse light wires are there. I can't remember the color codes, but my reverse light work. this was on my 95 awd eclipse btw
Turns out the diff bearing was shot, and the diff house got all chewed up, was able to pull the bearing off by hand.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152275563431944&l=5836105590345967890
A few weeks ago I noticed my transmission leaking from the CV axle seal. I replaced that seal a good 5+ times and the CV axle 3 times. Nothing fixed it, I did however notice the diff had a lot of slop inside. Anyone ever seen anything like this...
Thanks for the reply. I don't know what to call it, I'd say the sound is coming from my BOV. Its like a chopping noise as you had sad. Its an old style Tial 50mm with a fairly soft spring. Maybe I need to put a stiffer spring in it? Wastegate is a Tial 38mm with 2 springs inside to acheive...
I'm running V3 lite with an old Maf-t setup and run wastegate pressure 22-24 psi off a Tial 38mm thats manifold mounted. 4" intake pipe that runs in where the stock sidemount is located. I should have the ability to run more boost on my injectors if need be. I'll also run a BLT very soon...
2 years ago I purchased a new FP HTA GT3582R with a T3 .63 a/r housing and am having some issues with surging at full boost in 4th and 5th gear on my 95 2.0l I'm currently running about 22-24psi. The compressor housing inlet on my turbo doesn't look exactly like the one on their website either...
When I was looking for one I was on evolutionm.net I sourced my evo 8 diff for $450 shipped. I wouldn't pay more then $500 but, thats up to you. Ebay has a bunch of overpriced ones, depending on how much your looking to spend. Your looking for any Evo 8/9 rear diff thats not AYC
Pics would show a dirty old subframe with an attempt to cover up splotchy patches of surface rust. lolThe Evo 8 diff is indeed a clutch type. They were also assembled incorrectly according to Mitsu documentation. Power oversteer, rear differentials, fixing the stupidity of being shafted...
FYI I redid my entire rear suspension setup. Poly bushings throughout the rear and re-installed the rear subframe with evo 8 diff/stock pumpkin last night. 2g non lsd axles popped right in just like stock and are secure just like Mitsu intended it to be in there. 95 TSI AWD
I purchased my stock EVo 8 diff off evom forums for $450 shipped.I received it today from UPS and immediately got to tearing it down and re-organizing the clutch plates inside. Installed the ring gear and slapped it in with the original Eclipse bearings and shims. Gonna take it to a local...
Auto guys can use this as well, as you must swap the ring gear from THE original diff to have the correct gear ratio.I'd like to know if the swap was noticeable for a dd. Also launching, does the car seem to have more grip and go?
I searched my butt off thinking this setup wouldn't fit without a spacer between the manifold and head. Just wanted to post pics for reference (as I couldn't find pictures anywhere) as this setup fits like a glove on my 6-bolt. Old school Turbonetics T3 manifold/HTA FP 3582R in a .63 V-Band 3"...
Test drive complete, the new 3g booster/ 3g master completely fixed my spongey brake pedal. Pedal feels excellent!!! Anyone upgrading to EVO style brakes should upgrade these parts it should be manditory!
I purchased a hand vacuum pump and ran about 2 large bottle's of fluid through the system. I pray to god all the air is out as I worked on it for hours on end today. The new brake master really cleans up the bay to : ) Didn't get any test drives tonight, hopefully soon though.. In the...
The stock Evo mounting bolts on the rear calipers are 30mm long. I cut them down to approx. 25mm and they bolted on just fine. As for the rear dust shields, they can be trimmed. I used a cut-off wheel and cut the 90 degree lip off the shields/smoothed and painted them and the rotors went on...
New dust shields aren't mandatory either. I used the RTM kit up front with 3kGT 4-pot calipers and cobra rotors and Evo Rears. On my 2g AWD the front shields were simply pushed back a little so they wouldn't rub the new rotors. As for the rear, they didn't want to bend much out of the way so...
I built one of these for a completely stock/unported 14b I have bolted to my 2g. Actuator came from a HX35, so I'm told. Hits and holds 19psi with no boost controller of any kind installed. Excellent idea!!
Excellent! I'm gonna pull the driveshaft next weekend and line it up under the 2g to see if it fits. I'm pretty sure there is a gap on the yoke like you stated, im sure a little gap is needed for engine movement, but how much is to much and how little to little? I'll measure that gap as well...
I'm likely to part out my 1g AWD in favor of my newly aquired 95 AWD auto. I really want to use my 3" DSS driveshaft, but I'm sure there's gonna be a length issue. Does anyone know if they are different lengths???
Nice to see I'm still talked about years down the road : ) The setup probably had more in it, but ended up selling the car in fear it would fail sooner or later, lol. Now have a 92 awd sporting a HTA 35r and I've never been more pleased. On a budget you can't beat a Holset
WH1E in .55 bolt on housing Had a 3" V-Band welded on the outlet and run 3" back, forward facing filter housing a must~! Old pics but, thats the gist of it.
Yes, I beleive he has the ETS Street Core setup thats only 7" tall.My current car (not the one in my profle) has a WH1E (old HX-40) and I have the Monster SBR/Kinetic Race intercooler kit 12" Tall 3.5" thick and my uicp temps are much higher then his.
I spent half my life in Troy, Missouri. Very small country town. If your looking for car buddies and people to hang out with you'll need to drive to the bigger towns. (about 30 mins out) .
Yes, I did. I had it hooked up backwards at first. The upper fitting is the feed and the lower fitting is the return. The car runs for the first time in 8 months as of yesterday~!
Not sure, but I got it on ebay for like $38 ShippedOIL FILTER SANDWICH PLATE FOR USE W/EXTERNAL OIL COOLER:eBay Motors (item 220419979576 end time Sep-19-09 11:23:07 PDT)
Finally got my parts in and installed them this afternoon. Only question I have is which way does the oil flow threw the sandwich adaptor? I want the oil cooler to be fed at the bottom and return out the top and back into the housing.Fitment is great, I have a good 1"-2" of clearence...
For anyone intersted here's a few pics of my oil restrictor setup on my Holset H1E..063 Nitrous Jet
