Ok I just put down a metal 4layer HG on a fresh decked, honed, hot tanked block and a decked, hot tanked, new valve stem seals head. I did not use any copper spray and tourques to 90 FT lbs with 30W oil with ARPS.This going to hold? Some people say use copper spray some say don't. Anyone...
Anyway you could let me in? I'd like to see if you have anymore of my car? Evo...Your a weekend member anyway when you run. There is no rule that says you have to be anything to use a loaner helmet. :)
Nekoni, can you get me details in how to get into your photobucket album?Anyone else have pics?I was surprised at the turnout. Had no idea there was this big of a DSM following in des moines.:dsm::dsm::dsm::dsm:
Ok I am alomst done. I have one question. The peice that come out of the manual rack and then goes into the steering coloum will not go into it all the way. I can still see the bottom part of the grooves for the spline or whatever. The rack is mounted as high as it will go and beat the piss...
Dumb question, but did you set the timing??? You have to do that it doesn't say the same from when you took it apart and put it back together.Check the physical timing, and also the electrical timing with the crank angle or cam angle sensor.
I have a standalone Megasquirt system on my car controlling Fuel and Spark. I am having some issues with timing and was going to go back to stock ECU timing control. Will 20+ PSI be fine on the stock ECU timing? I have wideband and race gas on in the car to make sure those are with in limits.
Somebody asked you this in the thread towards the beginning and you said they were right. Now it's not right????? Maybe you should really check next time and save yourself alot of hassel.
How about:Your a Dick. You obviously have no idea how the industry works. I am not a writer or idea guy. I design visual aspects of an idea. I'm a visual artist. I work with writers who's job is to come up with names and ideas.I have plenty of my own names but I wanted to get some...
These are prob some of the best ones yet. I was about ready to give you 50 bux, but Flicker Media and Flicker Studio is taken already. So close!!!Seven7 is runner up though. Damn decent sir.
I posted this on about 5 forums I frequent now.I am looking for a name of a company. This will be for my web design company I am working on starting. I need a name. Trendy, Cool. Not something that is like ______ productions, designs, ect...Some cool names already taken.Bleed...
Cometic HG's require and RA rating of 50 to seal. If you didn't deck the block it won't seal unless you figured out a way to get a semi-polished flat surface with out decking the block that I don't know about.
Ervin you put those on your DSM I will come over and burn it to the ground!!!!Keep the stock ones or go gunmetal. We can even paint the stock ones and when you want to sell those stockers.. you know how to get ahold of me.
More thank likelly a bad manifold to turbo gasket allowing exhaust gasses to escape which is the steam/smoke you see. Or it may not be tightened down. Take the turbo off and check the gasket, bet it's bad.
Yeh looking for right around or under 400 HP semi reliable.6 Bolt with EVO III 16G and ALL supporting mods in my profile. Thinking about going 50 trim this winter with shep tranny. Also wondering what compression pistons to go with?8.3:1 or 9.0:1I want to be able to run 20 PSI...
So would using the stock 1G rods be a good option to use with Weiseco Pistons? I thought about getting Eagle rods too but is there really a differance in 1G rods vs Eagle Rods?
I was just about to call you. thanks for the reply nate. I will take your advice and put it back in the car. I guess I expected less wear but if you say its alright well I will listen to you since you have seen more of them after usage than I.The clutch was working good when I pulled it...
Hrmmm...well I may just stick with new 1G ones then. I had ringlands fail on my OEM pistons that had 150K on them in CYL 1. I think it was just weak or detonated really bad. One of the two.Ok well thanks for the input.

Was wondering where people buy their rings from. Stock pistons, standard, for turbo engine. I am looking for some vendors to compare prices and brands.I found this but never even heard of the vendor.http://www.store.partsdinosaur.com/product90.html...
1st off I don't really ecpect them to do anything as I understand this is my race car and well race parts usually aren't covered but this line in their AD..."Custom SBR Spec Clutches! Less Pedal Pressure than the 2600 and More Clamping Force!"Clearly gives the idea that this is a better...
The thing that sucks bad is I told three freinds I thought it was holding ok in my car so they bought 3500s as well so now there are 3 more people locally that have them that are about to find out their own way.I'll call SBR on monday and see if they can do anything. I spend alot of money...
Well I guess right no I don't have m uch good to say. I had to pull the motor due to ring lands on number one taking a vacation. ANd in the process thought I would remove the clutch and see how well this NEW SBR 3500 clutch was doing since no one really has a after review just in car.The...
Someone told me the other day since I put a Mitsu 4 Layer metal HG on my car if I need to pull the head off for work that I can reuse the 4 Layer after cleaning it up. Is this true? Anyone done this?
Ye that is right around operating temps. Your fine there. My car runs like poop in warm up but that may be lack of me doing the right values in my standalone for warmup mode.If yuor car runs harder when in warm-up mode than when at operating temps I would start looking into your tune. Fuel...
Hello.. you look framilar. :)The first place I would go is after that oil pump, take the end plate off and see what has been really done. Also while in there check to see if the block off bearings were installed right so there is no holes where there use to be for the Balance Shafts.
The Crank Case is vented fine. I put it back to stock and still same issue. The PCV valve is fine as you can feel it sucking in air at idle, unless that is incorrect. If the oil is backing up the return line and pushing out the seal on the exhaust side of the turbo I would not get oil in the...
Ok now here is another question I have.If valve stem seals are the issue wouldn't the plugs show sing of oil burning especially if you let the car idle and then pull the plug since at idle is when the leak occurs?I sure think the plugs would show signs of oil. And if they don't could it...
I was reading an older thread where someone mentions to much crank pressure can cause this as well and I got plenty of that. What are some ways of releaving this extra pressure. Wanna try all my options before I buy the miller tool.
I am having a similar problem with mine. I have 5K on both engine and turbo with brand new valave stem seals. Compression is 160 across the board and leak down test is good.I called a vendor this morning and they suggested that I may have a peice of silicon stuck in the dump from the EVOIII...
Good to hear man get a ne whose on there and burp the coolant system and test it out. Hopefully it didn't get to hot and warp your head or something but you should be ok.Good luck.
Well that would be because you have no coolant. But yes that would mean coolant is dumping out before it gets to the heater core. Seriouslly check the two hoses the go into the fire wall. They are a bi*** to get to if you don't take the stuff off the top of the fire wall above those hoses...
