Maybe the first time it was asked. Not 13 years after!Coming to a serious tech forum near you: "How do I #### my wheels?"Edit: You can't say "cack your wheels?" That's a real word. Should I have said angled?
Seriously, why don't you go cruise the newbie forum and read the 1000000 threads about fitting a 4g63 engine in a 2g RS, even though people have known you can't do that since 199 f*cking 5. If you deleted all of the stupid posts by people who forget to search before asking a question, you would...
Not necessarily. You can also use the FPS, BCS, anything that DSMLink is capable of controlling via the Nitrous Control panel. You can set RPM conditions for it to open. The other method (if you don't have DSMlink) is to use a RPM switch to control those things. You could also a Hobbs...
How can you get ticketed for paying the price somebody is charging? If it says 2.00 on the pump and I pay 2.00, that's legal! And if you find a deal like that, pay cash and cover your lisence plate!
Rust, rust, rust. Make sure there isn't any rust on that car. I bought one in Carmel and drove it for a few years, I just took it to the junkyard since it was so rusty that nobody wanted it. These are old/beater cars that people will drive in any weather, especially snow. Some of these have...
No, no, no and no. Color and barrel length make no difference in legality. "High capacity" (10+) mags might not be legal in Cali but that doesn't mean the guns aren't. Sights are never drop in, just like car parts. Every gun sights in differently, not just by boresighting but by how it...
You mean like the WRX's and rally cars?
1)I think the only benefit to doing that, is it protects the intercooler from rocks and debris when they're racing on dirt roads.
2)The hood is in a low pressure zone. You would need a big cowl - think STI huge
3)I've always thought the V-mounts they run...
Or just run injectors properly sized for your setup. Run Meth injection if you want to push the boost past what the octane rating of your fuel would allow.
I'm running the full 3" system, no cat. I haven't gotten a CEL for that, or for my emissions equipment (it's all gone). Now that I think of it, that's because I have DSMLink. I guess it's going to depend on your car.
Weeeelll... now that I think about it, you have to take the recirc hose off to do a boost leak test, since you're taking the intake pipe off afterall. My bad.
That's my setup right there. I used to have a Supra SMIC with a Dave Brode UICP, but that thing was a boost leak magnet. If you do the above route, make sure you get the BOV and TB flanges decked. They're all warped when they weld them. Oh yeah, do the Dodgegarage mod on the 1g BOV.
Negative. The BOV should hold in boost at all times, until you shift. It should not be open under boost, no matter if it's recirculated or not.To the OP - Do a boost leak check to 30psi. I'm not sure what BOV you're using, but if you're using a 1g, do the Dodgegarage mod to it. It will...
JB Weld can be drilled and tapped, so I'm betting that its formed a 'gasket' and is sealed around the threads of the bolts. The bolts will probably also just thread back out of it.
I've got a power inverter hardwired, and secured under the passenger seat. I've been using this really, really old Gateway that sucks nutsack. It's got 200mhz, a 10gig harddrive, and an expired copy of Windows I keep re-installing. Oh yeah, and it has a dead battery, so if you bump the power...
A few quick Wikipedia links. What sort of specific questions do you have about widebands? Are you going to be logging this through DSMLink, or are you just looking for a stand-alone gauge?Oxygen sensor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaAir-fuel ratio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
That, or you could run an external off the O2 housing. That way you won't need to get a new manifold, or worry about welding your internal wastegate flapper shut.
DSMLink won't throw CEL's for emissions, so I always check my DTC's to see there's anything seriously wrong. I'm not going to drive if it's something important.
Ls1 Camaro or Trans-am, then do heads, cam, intake, headers, etc... supercharger... Then swap the entire drivetrain into a FD Rx7 after I wreck the Camarobird.
I know I say it all the time, but the best, easiest, friendliest, ... best tuning solution is DSMLink. You use a latop to tune, not a little electronic box or anything. You can save multiple ECU setting files for race gas or E85 or pump, whatever. It's kind of expensive though, but it is...
Do you mean your turbine housing or your compressor housing? The compressor housing is what you would want to clock to get the discharge lined up for the FMIC kit. You can do that by removing the internal snap ring that holds the cover on. Make sure you get a GOOD snap-ring plier set. Not the...
Coltboostin is running twins on his 2.4 RX7. I can't remember what kind of power he laid down on the dyno, but it was definitely impressive for cheap/free turbos.
SSautochrome makes them in dumped and recirced versions. I had the dumped one and absolutely hated it. I wish I would have gotten the recirced. PM me if you want mine.
You're talking about getting a turbocharger for 100 bucks. Even if you have to rebuild it, it's still worth it. I'm not really willing to buy a used turbo and then piece together a setup, so I'm going to buy a brand new HX40 pro for 850 with the bolt-on housing. I consider that a pretty damn...
I would imagine that the bolt-on housing will be a joke for a turbo as big as the HX52, so he's probably going to use one of the stock T4 based housings. Advantage - more airflow and power. Disadvantage - spool. That's about all there is to say about going to a bigger turbo.
I just picked up the head studs and gasket, since I'm doing a headgasket job. If I was doing an engine rebuild, I would go with ARP everything, but the OP only asked about head studs anyways.
Eeehhh.... no. I just picked up a set of ARP's and a Cometic as a combo for 160. The 6 bolt version is 150. That's through Extreme PSI or MAPerformance. If you're paying over 200 for headstuds, you might as well go with some L19's or A1's.Edit: To make clear, that was ARP's and a Cometic...
Dude, this is the lounge, not the tech forum. I don't think anybody's life is going to end because they don't know which key unlocks which feature on a car they don't (and never will) own. How about you go change your tampon and get back to us.
Mine fit right in with a little bit of wiggling. I'm not happy with it though. I wish it was a full replacement like the driver and passenger side. I might end up getting some hard plastic and cutting new replacement mounts for the front and rear tranny mounts.
Don't ever say I did nothin' for ya.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/276786-ss-autochrome-fmic-kit-install-w-t25-automatic-tips.html#post151344572
I used to have a dumped internal on my 18g. It ####ing blew chunks. I love driving my car so much more since I put on the Evo 3 O2 housing. One of these days I'll go back to a tubular housing, but it will have an external wastegate in it.
Pull the head to replace the blown headgasket with ARP's, Cometic, and then have the head decked/refinished. Then I'm replacing the timing belt/water pump when I have everything off. Oh yeah, that's just to get the car back on the road.Hopefully I can do a SMIM, new TB, tubular exhaust...
My bad, I didn't realize that you had direct experience with these kits. I didn't pick that up from your post. Some people (including myself when I first got the kit) might not realize that some adapting has to be done to run this. I just wanted to make that clear. It's not really a bad...
Keep in mind that you guys are running different generation cars. I guess it wouldn't really matter too much with stripped interiors though. I guess the best choice would be to run a sheet metal dash, and drill holes to mount gauges right in it.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Does anybody have a line on a Cat-looking shell? Maine doesn't do a sniff test, so I just have to pass a sort of visual. (headlights and ball jointsROFL)
Hold up. Are you saying that you're missing two of your three fuel rail plastic.... things (mounts) and that it's not bolted down securely? You better fvcking fix that right quick.
Here's a better question for you. Why does Prothane only make INSERTS for the front and rear transaxle mounts, instead of total replacements like the driver's and passenger's side? I've heard rumors of Bushur? making total replacements for those, but never really found any for sale. Oh well...
