I've followed the exact proceedure many times to program the garage door opener on my GSX, but it never seems to work. What I do is what is listed in the user manual, and it get the very fast blinking lights, but the door never opens/closes when I push it after that...any help is appreciated.
This post is regarding my 1992 GSX. I seem to be having a serious problem... my axle bearing bracket keeps breaking. A few months ago the bolts that held the bracket to the block broke clean off and the bracket came loose. I didn't notice this for a few days until the front left wheel started...
usb-to-serial setup for port 3, dsmlink set to port 3. I have changed this to other port numbers just to check. Yes, car is on while trying to connect, both engine running and just on run.
double, triple, and quadruple checked. Connections secure from laptop to obdII. I'm pretty sure that from the obdII port to ecu it's going to be alright. Do those wires go directly into the ecu?
I posted this on the dsmlink forum, but just in case I figured I'll post here too...I have everything set up for dsmlink, but the ecu won't connect. Says it times out. I don't have a serial port so I'm using an adapter, but with it I can connect to my palm pilot, so I know that the adapter is...
I have a palm v and the 3.1 os on it. I went to the palm website and it says there isn't an upgrade for the OS. is there a way I can put on 3.5 so it can run this software of is there another option for those running the 3.1 version of the palm os?
You have to get the complete package. I highly reccommend diamondstarmotorsport.com as they are a sponsor of this site, have great prices, good support, and who I have used (most of my car parts and upgrades have come from there).Talk to them and the'll get you everything you need. The...
Both of the installs were with an ACT 2600 and street disc. I'm kinda against pucks, and really like the feel of the street disc. For $100 it's a deal...and me612 is exactly right: he'll wish he charged more. It's about $40 to resurface a flywheel on average. You can find both cheaper and...
yeah ever use a dremmel? smells the same. Well, look at it from another point of view: it's another mod on your list that you'd need. Just unfortunate that you didn't get to select the time to do it.I just did one this weekend...good luck.
with a slipping clutch you'll also lose boost...do you smell clutch at all when you pop your hood? With the 2 clutches on dsms that I've fixed so far there was a DEFINATE smell of clutch burning indicating it wearing away.
you have to make sure the splines line up correctly as well. One idea would be to have someone rotate the driver's side wheel and let the differential rotate the axel to match up, or just rotate the axel it's self until it goes in. If that doesn't work, inspect everything and make sure that...
well what we did was get a winch and take off the hoood. that way we could manipulate the trans and not worry about it falling on our faces. once lined up it was hard getting the input shaft into the clutch, but with enough fidgeting and manipulation it finally went in. One thing to note...
what's the easiest way to insure it's lined up? It looks it according to the bolts but it won't slide in. also to turn the shaft can't I just turn one of the wheels with it in gear (or the input shaft for the xfer case)?
Na...don't do it in your engine bay. One place I have heard of it used was on body parts though...like if you scrape often in the front you can rhino line the bumper to keep it from cracking. Other than that, I think it'd be best to keep in the bed.
thanks 91turbo...but I'm done with it. I'm just waiting for a deal on dsmlink. Besides...tmo is dead for all practical purposes.kpt...actually it does. Thanks.Bigg - not sure how much yet. For just the chip, I'd let it go for $100...after all I have $150 in it.
I got it all wired and everything...I really don't like the way it functions. My car runs like crap with it in...but maybe it's just relearning and all. I switched back to my old ecu and ordered dsmlink. Thanks for your help.
I have a 2g, so where is the clutch wire on the ECU? I'm having trouble finding references for it. My manuals don't list the individual connections to the ECU.
Yeah...I read that. With the limit it bounces all over the place...2750-3250. Very inconsistant.I put my old ECU back in for now...and it looks like I scored a deal on DSMLink so I might not screw with this at all and just sell it. I appreciate your help....it's just been a long day.
RPM range for it are 4000-6000 rpm. I'm limited to 3000. Valet mode says 3000 as a limit. I don't have security however, as you mentioned before. I don't have the clutch wire yet, but I don't see how this would engage a 3000k rpm limit.
Look...I obviously don't have enough information on this which is why I posted in the first place. Don't be a dick because I'm requesting some help on something I'm having difficulties with.Guess I'm on my on with this one.
The code is reset after not having power. It's definately rev limiting at 3000 which is what the Valet mode does. The website does not show how to set the code or change it.
I installed the ECU with the chip (I found it's a stage 3). The check engine light never blinks, and it DOES have security features. Right now it's locked in Valet mode and won't rev over 3k.I f the checkengine light isn't blinking, how do I exit security mode? Also, how do I set/find the...
but it's still crappy descriptions. It shows how it works, but not how to set stuff like security codes and all. Also how to setup rev limit and shift rev limits.I don't want the security feature turned on....the website doesn't say how to disable it.
I posed this question in the newbie forum, but I think that was the wrong place. I have a socketted '95 eprom with a TMO chip installed (not sure which one). I don't have any manuals or documentation on it at all...so how do I use this thing? I know how to switch the ECUs, but how do I get the...
On DSMs the bolt count is the number to secure the flywheel. On Chevy Engines the bolt count is the number holding each crank support...kinda interesting how the bolt count isn't a standard.
Thanks for the help guys. What sort of price should I be looking for to have someone install if for me? I was thinking of offering one of the guys a side job so they get the full pay...For doing it myself..I think I'd sooner shop around first. I need my car and it can't have much down...
my amp is sercured next to my spare tire...can't see it and there is enough room there so it doesn't overheat.Looks clean and most importantly, doesn't take up valuable trunk space.
I can solder....do basic stuff like that. Hooking up an SAFC I could do. I have zero experience in alarms though, and have no idea where the wires they specify are located at. I do have all the shop manuals, however. Is it pretty basic to get accomplished and what is a reasonable price for...
I bought a car alarm off of ebay with just about every feature possible. Remote start, 2 way remote, remote windows, etc.I was quoted at a car place for the install to be $600.How possible is it to install this myself? It came with a nice help guide for the install as well as afew...
Muscle Cars are domestic sports cars with typically high displacement. I cannot think of a muscle car that's not atleast V6. (unless you want to consider the original corvette, but I don't personally think of that as a muscle car).DSM has jàp in their blood :dsm: AND is low displacement...
my car got broken into last night...the anti-theft system worked, but now I want extra security.I decided to check out ebay...and I know it's cheap, but is it good?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2451577795&category=33721
I took out my dash and put it back in...the tach, spedometer, and temp guages aren't working. I know that means I must have missed a wiring harness, but where would this one be?I suspect the ECU, but that's behind the radio and a pain to get at if it's not there.Suggestions :)
