The cluster setup is pretty bad. I used the factory Mitsubishi sender. The autometer gauge has a whole setup process you do with a momentary switch to get the gauge to read the correct voltage for proper fuel level.
Thanks guys! ErikTande, your the reason why I ended up painting the car. I love how your GSX looks! My sister lives in Colorado so maybe I'll get to see the car in person one day.
Thanks guys. So next I worked on the passenger side door so I could put my trim on. In some of the pictures you can see my passenger sideskirt was in poor condition. I found one on ebay in Pennsylvania but the seller didn't want to ship. Talked to Paul over at JNZ and he got me the last...
Here's the write up http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/upgrading-a-1g-interior-lighting-to-led-using-sharphid-kit.429154/Well.....It's base coat time. I was nervous because of the flat finish but after the clear coat went on it ended up being amazing. The paint matches the door jambs...
one of the final pieces to finally get the car started showed up.After running all the sensors for the gauges and buttoning up the harness I was finally able to try to start the engine with speed density. At this point it was time for me to sit down and learn some stuff about dsm link and...
Got the transmission back from Jack's and I'm pleased with the quality of work! Ended up with the stage before going dogbox. Here's where converting the car to an electronic speedo happens. I removed the cable that runs into behind the dash and bought a 2g awd speed sensor off ebay. It's a...
That was all for the cluster at the moment. I wanted to install my -8 fuel feed line and my -6 return along with wiring to the fuel pumps so that's what I did next.ACT is literally 15 minutes away from where I live so I called them up and asked if I could pick up a clutch kit directly from...
So now the motor is in the car. It's so much closer to running it hard to not be excited. My next purchase for the car was an exhaust manifold I found in the classifieds.
Took the manifold and turbo to work to find some hardware, slapped some nuclear grade anti-sieze and it was time to
utilize...
She's timed and ready for the factory timing cover and jays racing alternator relocation kit.Now thats purty!Got the motor mounts, now it's time to drop the engine! The motor is finally home!!So all this takes place over the course of 3 years. Don't think I have an endless supply of...
ARP Cam bolts came so I could put the gears on the cams.Bought some EDM Tails from a user on here.Headgasket, Valves, MAP Behives, retainers, guides and locksWhile the head was at the machine shop I found a non power steering rack at the junkyard.Cleaned it up and rebuilt it...
4 bolt rear, got the axles and cups as well. Also got together some revised lifters, eagle rods and an eagle crank.BJ ended up in town with some shop after disappearing from the face of the earth. He literally gave me an intake manifold that I started polishing.Decided to go with a...
Been on the site for a long time and I've been meaning to do a build journal for awhile now. Here's what I've done over the course of the last 5 years. This is my second DSM, I had been laid off so I parted out my first one. Here's the rundown on my current GSX. Bought the car for $800 dollars...
Thanks, I still need to wire it in. I'll probably do the same thing I did for the turn signals which is get some 12vdc LEDs and complete some circuits.
I have the RTM Kit on my 1g and run the Evo 8 Enkies. The spokes clear the calipers just barely without any sort of spacers, just to give someone an idea.

For my gas gauge I used this Auto MeterIt has a preset for Mitsubishi Eclipses. I also bought a new sender/float and tested it on a bench to see if it was accurate which is was.
Your Speed sensor is electric. 1g DSMs are cable driven and 2g DSMs have an electric sensor. For my cluster I used an Autometer Cobalt Electric Speedo. Since I have a 1g, I had to use a 2g speed sensor to get it to work. 3 wires to hook up, quick 2 mile calibration and my speedo works
+/-1mph...
On JNZTuning's website it's under "Axle and Brakes" then select "Universals & Rear Axle" Click on "Rear Axle and it'll be under "Propeller Shaft". You should be able to find what you need after that.
Like stated above, JNZ has oem parts. ExtremePSI has stuff as well. EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance PartsVfaq.com has a ton of information available if you need it. Jafromobile also has a few videos (Driveshaft 101 to Driveshaft 105) demonstrating how to take the...
This is true, but the fact that the car is warming up almost instantly on the gauge leads me to think that its the actual sending unit for the "gauges." Should have been a little more clear. It's a little wierd that the car is instantly overheating upon a cold start. When I've experienced this...
How long does it take your car to warm up on a cold start? A buddies car would be already warm within 2-4 minutes after a cold start, turned out to be a bad Coolant temp sensor.
If any of you have been wondering about BJ's Cylinder Heads, he's now in the Antelope Valley. I Went and checked out the shop earlier today, here's his non official website.bj's
i want to go but all i lack is a transmission, i finally got turbo and all supporting mods but the transmission is killing me. Maybe the next dyno meet for me.:dsm:
