I have a 1994 Talon with a professionally rebuilt 4G63 6-bolt engine and head. It was driven approximately 2000 miles on the rebuild, then I took the body apart to do some body work. The rust is all repaired, but I did not get the car body put back together, as we started a family, so the car...
What cam gears are you using? I used the 4G63 timing cover with my G4CS/4G63 head setup, but I had to use adjustable cam gears and set them correctly to get the timing right.
It is. The part that is a pain is when you have to pull up the carpeting on the passenger side, and pull out the airbox so you can get at the firewall pass-through of the wiring harness, and unplug it there from the in-car wiring harness. But that was still easier than adding wires for all the...
I agree. Once you look at the wires you would need to add, and those extra gadgets from the firewall, it looks easier and easier to just swap the turbo wiring harness with everything attached. That was the conclusion I came to.
Sounds like you have it covered. I too bought a new turbo fuel pump, radiator, and exhaust system for the turbo car, but had to modify the muffler a bit because the exit was partially covered by the bumper on the ES. There were a few gadgets from the firewall I had to transfer over as well...
I did a similar swap on a 94 Talon ES. I took the engine and transmission out of a 91 Laser RS Turbo FWD and swapped them into the 94 Talon (including wiring harness, axles, and front suspension). The shift linkage and transmission mounts from the ES bolted up without any trouble. I also had...
I would have to check when I get home from work for the exact port I used, but it is on the oil filter housing. I don't remember it being a problem. I used the whole oil pump assembly and oil filter housing from my 4G63, so nothing was really different in that regard.
Saw this custom job on my way to vote the other day. It is difficult to tell how big it is in the pictures, but it dwarfs a standard size pickup and sounded like a semi tractor.
Yes, just use insulated copper wire from Radio Shack or somewhere. I crimped a standard female 1/4" spade terminal on the end of it, and that slipped nicely over the stud sticking out of the sending unit.
I was looking at some Ralliart floor mats on eBay too, like these:MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE RED FLOOR MATS CARPET 5PC SET JDM - eBay (item 250491368723 end time Dec-24-10 18:16:01 PST)I know the red will get dirty, but she likes that color :-) I was more concerned with whether or not they fit...
Well, I had a bit of a computer failure since then and lost the writeup. I will see if I still have the pictures, maybe I can put it together again :-)
Well, it looks like it would be about $200 each to get them here, with their estimated air freight shipping (tool cost plus shipping to here, in one box. There might be a customs fee too, who knows). Then they would have to be shipped out to whoever wants one. Maybe if a larger quantity than...
Well, a few months ago I sent an inquiry to the company that makes these valve spring tools, and I have gotten 2 replies from them! In the last one, they told me that I can be a distributor for them (I'm not looking to do that), and I have to order 5 sets minimum. They even gave me a price...
I have at least 5000 miles on my G4CS with no balance shafts or oil squirters, and everything appears to be doing fine. Even my butt, which gets a massage daily :p
Looks pretty fun :DMitsubishi Announces the 403HP Lancer Evolution X FQ-400 (The Torque Report)Too bad it is only going to be available in the UK. The price leaves something to be desired as well, at about 50000 pounds, to start.
The motor will only draw as much current as it needs. If you use a 50 amp circuit breaker, that just means it has 50 amps AVAILABLE. If you connect something that only uses 15 amps, then it will only use 15 out of the 50 that are available. You won't fry your motor.
I am sure you figured it out, but to get 240V you need a dual pole circuit breaker in your box. There are 3 rails in there, a +120V, a -120V, and a neutral (0V). The dual pole circuit breaker connects to the +120V and the -120V rails, so you would connect your air compressor to these when you...
But, can they do that under this bankruptcy filing? From what I read, it sounds like the Obama administration is making this a special case filing, in which the Union contracts would be the last thing to go, if at all. I think this should have been a straight Chapter 11 filing with no...
Also, Bruce Roller, the "Dinosaur", is very helpful. He personally answers any email questions you may have, and will custom make any parts kit you want. I really liked the personalized service I got from them. He even sent me the gasket set for the timing belt cover (that long rubber strip)...
I have used the Parts Dinosaur timing belt kit 3 times already (on 3 different cars), and am happy with it. The belts are SA Gear brand. I bought one of their balance shaft removal kits too, but the stub shaft is one of those with no oiling groove in it.
I think that is the same one I put on a couple of cars, both a 1G and a 2G. The fit was ok, the welds look ok on the outside, but on the inside of the outlet, where all the pipes come together, it looks pretty rough. The bolts they send with it are crap, and aren't even the right thread. I...
I followed Aeromotive's recommended fuel system guide when I installed mine. I have a filter before the fuel pump (protects the pump from debris that might get into your fuel cell) and another filter just before my fuel rail. Here is a link to their guide...
I totally agree. His elitist attitude sickens me, especially when the government has no business even getting involved with these companies. Also, isn't this "bankruptcy" not even a standard one? Isn't it a special, government protected, "bankruptcy"? I thought that the one thing that...
Some stainless steels are magnetic. The 400 series of ferritic stainless steels are magnetic in all conditions, while the austenitic stainless steels (like the 300 series) become slightly magnetic when cold worked.
