When did i say i beat on the car? There are plenty of people who have had great experience with XTD. And, as long as the clutch isn't slipping, it doesn't matter what rpm or power level is going through it.
in 4th gear at a lower speed, starting to boost up.even if it just slipped i can't...
The setup literally has less than 200 miles on it. Its a 91 AWD that i am brining back from the dead, just freshened up the motor, ported head, 272s, SBR cast manifold, E316g, Front mount, meth inj, 22psi.When i first got the car i put in an XTD Stage 3 Ceramic clutch, often called an...
do you know what the brake booster does? All it does is make it easier to push the pedal down. It won't make the car not stop unless you just can't push hard enough. If the pedal is going all the way down, you have air in the lines (bleed it better), a leak, or a bad master. The only other...
It sounds like, if you did a good job on the bleeding and don't have any leaks, that you should start with the master. It'll still push fluid during bleeding, and if the car stops its able to hold pressure, just not all of the pressure you're applying.
who cares? did the stock one not keep your car cool?copper is a better material, but aluminum can be better formed to be more efficient. So the simple answer is aluminum ones are better. That's why intercoolers aren't made out of copper.
take the driver side off and bang out the pass side though the middle.or if you want to pry it, its not so much about prying as it is popping it out. Use something like a tie rod end seperator, something real solid, and give it a quick shot with a hammer. You don't need tons of force, just...
Pushing more fluid will only affect pedal travel, a larger booster would give you a softer pedal and more potential pressure, but these are not limiting factors in brake systems- leverage and contact surface area are more important
LSD and non LSD axles are the same. 3 bolt and 4 bolt are not.The gearing is divided between autos and manuals. So if you're putting an AWD 5 speed in the car you need an AWD 5 speed rear end. Also, this is peanuts compared to the task of converting to AWD. Have you really read up on...
I would get an XTD Stage 2. I run a stage 3 and its a little chattery, and would be overkill for a stock car.A lot of people run XTDs and have great luck with them. A kit from an auto parts store is about the same price, but for some reason because they are on ebay people like to think they...
I run basically the same core with my own piping, which i would urge you to do the same. The core is great, and my intake temps were fantastic. The included pipes are not beaded, so you will have a tough time getting them to stay together. Also, i got a "universal pipe kit" from ebay, and...
3/8" will be more than enough for that pump. A lot of people spend a fortune on enormous braided lines, but it is just a huge waste. If you were to actually watch the flow from a return line at 40psi you'd know what i mean.
It probably would solve this misfire issue, but that would also be decreasing the performance of the car.Combustion isn't an explosion, its a burn. Larger gaps, stronger spark, more spark plugs etc all result in a better running engine, the reasons for it i'm not going to spend the time to...
be careful with the bolts, they usually are not the correct thread.I run this Housing, it works fine and so do the gaskets.Let me know about the j pipe, the one i got from sbr is terrible, hardest thing in the world to install
unplug the suspect injector and wire it to another injector. if the problem goes away, you know the injector is ok.i know on high impedance injectors they can be tied together, not sure about low imp.And to anyone else who wants to come in here and say "it'll misfire since the injector...
:cry::cry:Half of the things i've bought second hand in the DSM world have been either totally inoperable or grossly misrepresented; including here. Don't blame him, blame the other bad sellers out there.
With cam gears on stock cams you can improve spool, but most aftermarket cams are designed to be installed straight up- basically they cut the adjustment into them.Does the AEM have a no lift to shift feature? I'm sure it has a two step. TB and intake mani are good steps, there are a lot...
VCE viscous coupler eliminator, not VSC. If you plan to keep the car permanently as a 4x4, you may want to look at just skipping the VCE and going welded. You can still break the Center Diff with a VCEPersonally, i'd skip the AEM and get DSMLink. Use the money you save for a set of DKS...
that compression increase will do very little for helping spool, and not really worth it. You'll be able to put more boost on the stock compression pistons. There are threads on the swap, search for it. It is not minor, and not worth the work. Lots of fabricationWhy not just use the...
it'll make way more power at 22psi than a 16g will- some people don't want to run race fuel. Just because it can make more power at higher boost levels doesn't mean you have to run it that high.for the original poster, with a healthy motor and good tuning you'll be fine. What are your hp...
I highly doubt anything siezed. You would have heard it before hand. You're sure the balance shafts are removed?Same thing happened to me, slowing down for a light. Got lucky and only bent 4 valves. Highly unlikely that all of the valves survived.
Sounds like you need a new master cyl for the clutch, or at least a rebuild kit to stop the leak. The clutch only works to disengage the clutch, it plays no part in making it grip (unless the slave is stuck or not moving). Check movement at the clutch fork to see how much its moving and its...
With the size of my front mount i don't need to run water to cool off the intake charge. The point of running meth is to increase the octane rating- running pure 117 will give me a much better gain than washer fluid. With the injection setup right i'll be at close to 100 octane on a E316g...
So your car defies the laws of physics? You understand that there is less energy in E85 right? The only way you could have seen an increase in performance is if the car was knocking beforehand, or if the new fuel leaned it out. Adding E85 to a car that's running fine will only lower your...
should i reword this? The higher the octane the slower the burn. Less energy. A car that runs fine and is then switched to higher octane will see a decrease in performance. Why do you think Diesels get such good mileage? Stoich. for them is much higher, or more energy in the fuel.
I know that slowboy lists all of the part brands that go into the engine, and even show you the names and pictures of the machinery they use.I'm sure most of the other builders will do the same.
Just got done setting up my injection system, going to be using 100% Xylene (117 octane) at a 50hp setting. Haven't run it yet, but its triggered by a boost switch.I'm wondering if when its activated, will i get a huge fuel dump and go very rich? If so, would using the AUX wire on the...
If you had actually done any sort of research on E85, you would have learned that higher octane on a stock car will decrease performance- both power and fuel economy.I have a feeling that any gains you would get from leaning the car out a bit will be less than the decrease you'll see from the...
you can, but consider what you're doing.Telling the ecu that your airflow is much lower than it really is, which means its going to be running a lot more timing than it should. Very unsafe and you'll be limited in the amount of boost you can run.I did it while waiting for dsmlink to...
