It would be awesome to meet you in person some day Chris!
I started visiting this site a looooong time ago before I ever owned a DSM.It still fuels my passion into what my Talon (2nd DSM) is progressively becoming.
Also still my favorite website I visit EVERY day.Thank you.
I have a set of their standard 441 for my 2g Talon Tsi awd. I drove around town with just a normal wheel alignment and the coilovers felt better/more comfortable than a set of Tein "super street" coilovers I'd used before. Then I got the car corner weight balanced and it dramatically changed...
Yessir! I LOVE that racetrack. I cannot wait for the season to start up again next year. I'm currently aiming for a 2 min lap time goal. That particular event was also my first wet track session. 🌧
Here's mine. All cleaned up the day after an HPDE event earlier this year. Currently sitting with a blown headgasket 😓But I've got some pretty cool plans for it this next year.
I never like "just doing what some guy suggests" without some insight or info as to why. After doing some research and investigating, maybe I can help shed some differences between builders...Things I found that differ between them:1. Gear detailing -
Looking at some pics on TRE's...
High Performance Driving Experience.
Essentially you work your way up rank to competing.
I want to eventually compete in time trials with my DSM.https://www.nasarockymountain.com/hpde-2
Hi guys. I go to High Plains Raceway with my 2g Talon. I've grownup here in Colorado and have met many DSMers throughout the years. Many of us come and go, but like me, many of us have been around forever.
I'm trying to attend an HPDE event or 2 this year if anyone is interested in that.
I'd be interested in knowing as well why Jacks is so bad. I'm currently in talks with them to take a transmission to them for a rebuild, using parts I'm supplying.I know their 4-spider center diff rebuilds are not as good as TMZ or TRE but besides that what else?
Take some things for in between sessions.
Like a nice foldable chair, sun protection and something to eat and drink.Depending on how long you are waiting for your next group session, some headphones and music is nice.
Right on man. That looks so awesome! Good thing you have 2 ferocious guard cats to keep it safe : )Does the o2/downpipe connect to anything or is it a shorty exhaust?
Leave that blue connector alone! I think it is some sort of diagnostic plug. I had removed mine from my 1998 GSX years ago when I had pulled my engine out for a rebuild. The result was that it was only firing on 2 pistons (1 and 4) and couldn't figure out why. Tried everything to fix it and only...
Man I don't know how many times I've gone over your pics and stared at this beauty. You've got some legit time, design and engineering into this. Far better and superior than any other fabricators' I've seen.
Super looking forward to seeing the 4 point brace and cross member!
As always awesome parts acquisitions man!
Yeah sounds frustrating not feeling the support where you want it from. You'll get there though, you're much further along than alot of people who only have the "dream".It's quite a build you have going on and not just that but a restoration too...
Thanks for the share! I really enjoyed watching that!
Man that takes me back...I remember as a pre-teen first noticing the 2g Eclipses and Talons on the street. It became the first car I ever really liked. I didn't know squat about cars. Then admittingly, after I saw the 1st movie in theaters...
That's something to look forward to for sure! I could use a DSM buddy to drag along to High Plains Raceway for HPDE. :DCongrats on the new baby! My wife and I have been thinking/planning a sibling for our little girl (mmmaybe next year). Right now is definitely the time to stay home for a...
Right on man! That's going to look so good.
You know, I think we live in the same part of town.It would be cool to get together sometime and DSM it up!
Tip #1 When planning out where to put your latches, the less slope on the hood, the better. On the Invader hood, IMO above the headlights would be good spots.Tip#2 Cover the whole front area with painter's tape (prevent scratching and can mark your measurements). You can flip the latches and...
Thank you sir! I appreciate the kind words. I keep my car garaged so it's not outside all the time but I have daily drived it to and from work. I have no fading or damage to the clear coat. The clearcoat used to make mine is a high quality UV gelcoat.I'm due for a little journal update but...
Aw geez my condolences. I've always wanted a turtle myself but never got around to getting one. (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan since I was a wee one)Maybe it got too cold? Do you guys have a heat lamp?
Every new post is an absolute treat to read. You have a very fascinating method and development process. I participate in HPDE myself and man I love your posts.
Nice, that's not a bad idea. It looks like they also have a synchronized straight cut gear set that it would compliment...

IMHO the spacer is a waste of time.Front solid subframe bushings will tighten up the car but they won't be enough to noticeably increase noise and ride harshness.Harder control arm bushings, tires and of course stiffer damper & springs. These components what will really contribute to noise...
Nooice! Now that's full race setup.@miguelmcv if you look closely at the second to last photo you can see where he has 2 small cuts for a 2nd pair of aerocatch latches, at the front of the hood close to the nose of the bumper. You're getting rid of the hood hinges right Bobby?
