i just want to know if 2g cams are better than 1g? and if they are will they fit in a 1g head without machine work? :dsm:

I finally finished my 6 bolt conversion. I was driving it for about 40 miles an then the CEL came on. I hooked up a obd2 scanner and it read out p0300, p1400, and p1500. I know the p0300 is a random misfire and is probably caused by the CAS re-wire but i don't know what the others mean. Any help...

bring the axle to a machine shop and tell them to press it apart, believe me, you can't get it out by yourself

you have to get it pressed out. Any machine shop should be able to do it

alright, i checked those four grounds, they are all clean and tight. When i try to start it, it just clicks and the grround wire from the starter to the battery jumps and gets hot. what else should i check

yes, the ground wire was getting hot. How many grounds are there? i checked the battery ground, exhuast ground, and the intake mani. ground. I think i might be forgeting one.

When breaking a bolt it is all about the leverage. Let the tool work for you, don't work for the tool. like babell2 said get a cheater bar, I use the bar from my jack to add leverage all the time

I didn't rebuild it myself the first time. I also thought about plugging the oil squirter holes but then I decided not to take the risk. Honestly I wouldn't waste my money with a 7 bolt. you could probably find a used 6bolt short block for the money you would spend on the 7 bolt.

OK, bad news, I got the head off the talon today and I guess the #1 rod snapped, the piston is sitting in the bottom and has four deep indentions from the valves. The other three pistons look good. ANyone know where to get a cheap 1G rod?

ok, so I hooked up the solenoid and checked it and it won't hold vacuum. So i just bypassed it for now until I get a new one or something. Could this do any harm, running it with out the solenoid? Also this vacuum hose all the to the left on the intake manifold keeps popping off and causing it...
