I honestly don't like the sound. I don't like attracting attention, I'd much rather keep my cars potential to myself haha. Not to mention there's actually a power loss when venting to atmosphere
I leaned on my cruise control actuator the other day and the black plastic canister snapped. Would like to buy another one if anyone has a spare laying around.
Here's some pictures I took today. It has the stock intake with some plug inserted and some sealant spread all over. It's not nearly done at all. I'm guessing I could just pop out that plug, smooth out the hole and make something from Home Depot or lowes.
Hey guys, I attempted a to search for this a few times, but the internet is so heavily plagued with "how do I vent" posts that I can't actually find what I need. My wife bought my 95 talon for me while I was on deployment, I'm home now and some moron put an atmo BOV on an otherwise stock talon...
Oh I didn't know that, the diameters were only barely off, I'll post the picture and a link to the calculator I used. I only used his two back wheels to drive it home and now it's just sitting on the original back tire and the donut until next week when I can get a new set. Thanks for the heads...
So on my way to work yesterday, I noticed my tire was running "low". I check it (quickly) and figured I would fill it up on my lunch break just to get me home since I was running late. On lunch I went to go fill it up, and took my buddy with me because he hadn't seen the car and was excited...
He already has a filter, and with his mild goals, anything above what he has or even the stock one will be fine. If you want to do a 14b swap, you can safely turn boost up to 15psi, if I remember correctly, without adding fuel. With your boost controller, exhaust, and intake, you'll probably not...
That's too bad man. Well, thank you for the write up, and good luck to you.P.S. I'm also the owner of a Ford Fusion and it's definitely the more luxurious reliable of the two so I can understand that haha
I just wanted to make a post to say how awesome this board is. I've been on a few more forums including for diesel trucks, 2g Ford Fusions, LS motors, and I've browsed several others. I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the wisemen, mods, and all of the members who make an amazing...
Is this still a thing? I'd be interested in one as well. I don't like pillar pod gauges either. Ac vent/controls are better, but I'd like to keep that stock if I can. This looks like the best option for tasteful gauge mounting in my opinion.
That's kind of cool! I didn't know that. Depending on what emissions testing you have, you could do a stealth delete. It's big in the diesel truck world where you basically hollow out the cat and throw it back on and turn the check engine light off
The 2g NT (non turbo) motor isn't a 4g63 it's a 420a. So no, that wouldn't fit because the motor sits in the vat differently. However, it is just a cat and I'm sure if you get one, an exhaust shop could probably cut and weld it into your exhaust.Do you have to do emmissions testing where you...
Hmmm. Is there any way you can have the code checked? Does it do it while in neutral, or only when driving? It's possible. I'd would get it patched up or replaced soon either way.
Not trying to be rude, but I just don't want you to be made to look like a fool. Don't go around splashing your BOV in people's faces. That duramax likely could have easily pulled out and smoked your entire car leaving you to clean up after him. Just saying, leave the daddy's money diesel truck...
Agreed. If they were all the same price, I don't know if anyone still would choose anything over that haha. Does anyone know the average full spool rpm of a 68HTA? I know it all depends, but does anyone have a ball park answer?
I also really like everything I've heard about those. Same install as 16g, moves more air, seems the same or similar spool, doesn't seem to be anything bad about this turbo.
Anyone around Jacksonville NC feelbkike helping do a timing belt job in the next month or so? I've never done one and would rather learn how to do it by someone with experience than pay $700 for national speed to do it.
I'm confused, how exactly is it possible to get 300whp out of a stock fuel system with a 20g... And psi is not a direct correlation to horsepower, so I'm curious how you got those numbers.
What do you mean by "not fun"? Looks like injectors would be the first thing I would get along with tuning of course. You have alot more power hiding behind those small injectors. And you'll need a bigger fuel pump like a Walbri 255lph with an adjdtabke fuel pressure regulator. Here's the...
Can anybody help tell me if this is a chinabay turbo? I see that it days td05h on the compressor housing, but the not much else I can see.https://fayetteville.craigslist.org/pts/6176908451.html
Ahhh. Didn't see that it was automatic. I've never read up on them so that's probably why I've never heard about trans coolers. Sorry if I seemed like I jumped the gun.
What do you mean by "all that power"? Sounds like you don't have a very specific goal and you just want to throw parts at it. But to answer your question, a new/bigger clutch never hurts, especially since our cars are starting to be thought of as "old". The shifter bushings also wouldn't be a...
I'm also confused by the rich/lean mix up. If you think it's getting too much fuel, that's called running rich. If the car isn't getting enough fuel, its called running lean. Maybe it has bigger injectors and hasn't been accounted for in the tuning.
Crank case vent system was the first thing I thought of. I come from the diesel world and the ford 6.4 powerstrokes had a really bad blow by issue so bad, you could take the oil cap off and if you tried to hold a piece of paper over it, it would blow it all over the place. I took my intercooler...
Yeah, atomization is something I didn't even consider. I agree I would like to pick the right size, but I was curious and saw that this topic hadn't been covered very much. Plus I like disecting things further than what someone says will work b
Awesome! FIC hi-z line is actually what I'm considering. Don't foresee wanting to go bigger than 1000cc in anything less than a few years. Just out of curiosity, what is it you meant by people having trouble with tuning the older injectors?
First post so please, if I'm breaking any rules or making myself look stupid because I missed something in my all of my searching, my apologies. I have read alot about picking injectors based on flow, IDC, measured airflow it is intended to support, and so on. For example...
