2 new sets of acl rod bearings. Never opened. One standard one .001 extra. Both a must for proper clearance. 130 shipped for both. Message or text 5702347387.
for sale is a 95 eagle talon tsi parts car. Has 121k on it. Has rebuilt title from new york. Lots of good parts on it. Includes everything minus engine, trans, t case and ecu. Any questions just ask. Will be on stock wheels. 950 obo. Located in scranton/wilkesbarre pa.
not a bad price, for the engine. but beware that it may be cheap for a reason. it could have issues with compression, bearings, and worst of all the dreaded crank walk. take your time and check measurements twice. use the manual when you can and purchase the right tools for the job. don't build...
They are popular with junkyard lsx builds making over 1000 hp. But those are low boost applications like stated already.
Not really sure if they would hold 30-40 psi. Thats a stress area they werent designed for.
Looks like that is only the housing without any of the pins, that would be good if i can find the crimp pins that fit in it. I only need to use a dozen or so positions so that might be an option, thanks.
Yeah i thought about that, figured it was worth a try to find the sockets first before venturing into ecus. A damaged ecu might be as cheap as the connectors too, how much could one be lol.
Looking to see where i can buy the ecu side(male) connectorsfor a custom syand alone adapter. To clairify, not looking for the harness side connectors, the actual connectors soldered to the ecu board.
with a good converter and shift kit, what kind of loss are you looking at from the auto? a lot of people make up silly numbers like hundreds of horses from auto parasitic loss.
When it comes to drag racing, auto is the far superior option, but since the car will be used for a little of everything i think the 5spd will suffice....for now...
Any work done to the car or is it stock? May want to run a logger to see any abnormalities that the cel wouldnt pickup. Does the hogh idle eventually lower when it gets to temp? My vw did the same thing, sometimes if i would tap the accelerator it would lower right away. The fiav should control...
To high? Im taking the crank out to the shop to have him polish it. Hopefully that takes some off to open it up before i waste another 75 bucks on bearings.
now you got me worried. I think I'm gonna order a set of +.001 bearings and run a little loose. no use getting this thing together and having the main bearings seize because I didn't want to spend the extra 50 bucks.
I asked the tech guy at extreme psi and he said not to run the undersize bearing. The tolerene is towards the looser side of the spectrum and i plan to run nothing but good oil. I think i should be good with what i have.
just clearanced my main bearings with plastigauge and im getting 0.0015. Book spec is .002 min so that puts me too tight. Building a high power engine, should i go with the .001 oil bearings? Acl race.I thibk i was looking at this crosseyed because i just looked again and its between .0008 and...
Then screw it, if your doing it and its not costing much, then in the name of car science do it. Have not seen many if not at all twin turbo 4 bangers.
Mazda used a sequential back in the day ant that was only a 1.3 liter, well 2.6 when compared to a 4 stroke engine. Exhaust and boost pipes fed the larger one and finally the engine exhaust. The gate on the smaller one would have to feed the large one as well to maintain exhaust flow. Could work...
Sounds like my story, no compression in two cyl but love the car. Tore it down and had the block machined, not im looking at a 400+whp car that was barely running when i bought it. Its an easy first build car as well. Mine was a vw and let me just say the germans had the same technology in the...
Oh maybe this will help as well, running a scm61 and looking for 400+ whp. Im thinging the .021 and .022 .023 range for the rings. Please correct me in im wrong.
in the process of rebuilding my motor, block has been machined .020 and 85.5 wisecos will be used. Wiseco reccomends .017 and .019 for top and bottom ring. I have read that these are minimums and should go more, need some real experience input please before i ruin 25 dollar a set piston rings...
I didnt plan on it, i kind of already knew it wasnt a good idea and plus awd stuff is expensive. Like i said a proper setup would be a d50 trans slightly built to maybe a custom ford 8.8 irs out of a tbird. They are dirt cheap out of a junk yard and some come lsd. Not sure i want to hack my...
so while wasting life on youtube I cam across a video that has struck my interest. there are a few guys from new Zealand (I believe) that converted their AWD EVO 1 2 3's over to rear wheel drive by removing the VC and basically taking out the axles and using only the inner and outer splines. my...
Get a fake cat and have them weld it in the dp. They are literally just a shell welded to a straight pipe.

well played sir lol. that's ho I feel. I drive an auto LSX car daily and I really cant stand it... I also think that 400 manual horsepower would be a lot more fun than 600 automatic. just wanted to get an opinion before I did something stupid.
there is an ebay 2G exhaust I found for under 200 bucks.... 3" stainless from cat back... might be what I use to pass inspection every year when I'm not running a 3" hood exit.
drill it and use an extractor. I would use a drill guide so the bit stays in the middle of the broken bolt shaft. if that doesn't work use a bit the size of the hole and use a tap to rethread. you may need to use a slightly bigger bolt. or you can just delete A/C all together. hope this helps.
So I'm building my car right now and the block will be able to handle 600+ HP but the trans will never be able to handle that without dumping $3-4K into the trans. do auto DSMs suck to drive around or could they be just as fun by adding a shift box/kit? I'm looking at 4-425hp if I stay 5-spd and...
yeah i thought to myself lets do this right and not half assed. Only thing i will reuse is the crank and there are plenty of people pushing big power on stock cranks. After i do my trans i would like the option of turning it up without pulling the motor apart again. One thing i learned about...
