No, that is the wrong motor.. You could check around FB groups for a ready to drop in motor that wouldn't cost even close to what you were quoted, I have personally heard some not so good things about Pruven and DSM (pretty fair shop depending on who you talk to for Audi, BMW ect but not DSM)...
Hello DSMTuner brethren,I need some advise regard a 4GCS 6 bolt swap in my 92 1G AWD Laser, it seems neither the Upper Cover (holes don't line up) nor the lower cover (it doesn't fit at all really, a few holes line up but its a very tight fit) can be used, am I incorrect in that assumption...
Trying to sell a GST for $20k is craziness, I have a 92 1G AWD with 33k original miles, would love to know the market for it; if a 35K mile GST is worth $20k.. :thumb:
This car would be a hard pass, there are plenty of better examples out there, this car is worth about $3k max.. If you are a newbie and know nothing about DSM's I would wait and keep an eye out for something better.
Hit the FB groups "DSM Classifieds, DSM CLASSIFIEDS, DSM Junkie" along with BAT and other search tools and as Pauley said don't hesitate though, as the days of picking and choosing and paying low prices are coming to an end for both the 1G and 2G platforms; especially the nice ones.
Are you required to run one? We are "required" to in VT but I have never ran one and I have never received any grief for it.. Maybe just keep the front plate in the car and take your chances?
All of the cars you are looking for are on FB groups, join DSM Classifieds ect and you will see plenty of cars come up for sale, many are in CA which is not too far from you..
Seems you are really infatuated with EV's, is there a particular reason why? Tesla's make me want to puke, I have not found any equivalent whatsoever in the car world that would ever make me give up my 4/6/8/12 cyl sound that I experience when being around gas powered cars.. :hellyeah:
Go here, you will find the information you are looking for, as pointed out this is a DSM forum, not an Outlander Forum, I doubt many here have ever even owned one.. GL with your build!!https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mitsubishi-outlander-10/
34k original miles on mine and I have the original numbers matching engine also.. (It's currently under the knife with a a 2.4 build via Sasani Fab, but I have all of the original parts including the seats). I say please bring on these skyrocketing prices, it's about time that good clean...
My bad, I missed the part where the mechanic had said it tested 140 PSI for compression, it could still be an issue though with a jumped belt being 1 tooth off though correct?
There are some really good step by step videos on the interweb/dsmtuners, seek those out and bookmark them and when ready, you will find the job you thought was going to be dreadful really wasn't that bad at all..
Did you click the Ad? It was presented as a 1 owner clean car with "major maintenance just done" >>> ***Only 1 Adult Owner Since New >> ***Stock Except For A K&N Air Filter & Stainless Steel Muffler >> ***Major Service Just Completed. Including.....New Timing Belt, Water Pump, Valve Cover...
Calm down skippy, I am just telling the OP to use common sense, the 420A is a terrible engine and the cost to Turbo is not worth it when considering the end result.. I in no way will nor have I discouraged anybody from building whatever the hell a person wants as long as they have the skills and...
As the other replies have stated, its a pretty expensive venture without much reward, if you really want something Turbo use this car as your daily and find a GST or GSX if you can afford it, you will be much better off in the long run..
The old adage "look around real well before you leap" comes to mind here, your best bet is to read up on the plethora of information on this site and try to do the work yourself, unless you can afford to take it to someone that knows their way around a DSM... OR you can cut your losses and let...
Meh, DSM guys know what this is, as it's a one off "concept car", the only thing rough about it is the top which is being replaced from what I understand, so it's worth whatever someone will pay for this kind of "niche" DSM, to compare it to what the asking price is for non concept cars would...
I would highly recommend that you replace all of the timing components if you don't have proof that is has already been done, you can get a nice kit from Extreme PSI and while you are there grab the centerforce clutch they have, it will exceed what you have planned...
A 2006 Eclipse GT is a totally different car than the DSM badged cars, I would search for a forum that supports this year and ask your questions there, if you are asking if $1500 is a good deal on a trade-in for a 420A equipped 2G then the answer would be yes at a dealer, the most you would...
"All/Complete maintenance" should include changing the timing belt and components ASAP, especially if it's been sitting for 2 years.. Welcome to the addiction!!
Just so you know, when you get up to 600+ WHP, it's not a "street car" anymore per se, it's more of a drag car.. Sure you can drive it on the street and such here and there, but it's not really a "street car" anymore, YMMV and people can correct me if I am wrong, but I think 500 HP is the sweet...
Need to measure the mounting depth of stock speakers and search for the same on a site like Crutchfield for compatible speakers if you don't want to modify to fit..Another option is to scrap the dash speakers and go with some separates in the doors along with 6x9's in the back..
There is a plethora of information on this site, please do a proper search and look for thinks like this, it should have all of the answers you seek.. GL with the build!! https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/basic-horsepower-ugrades-2g-4g63t.480196/
