Okay so I have a 1999 Mitsubishi eclipse gsx, it has a 95 computer with a ecm tuning chip (like that when I got the car).
Right now everything mechanically and electrically seems good. But my air to fuel ratio is all over the place (has a gauge).
Right now it's hard to start, and it has NO...
Hey guy's, so I got my car running again the only issue I have now is it's throwing P1104/P1105 code's, also it's idles extremely high when it's first started like 2500-3000 rpm then slowly goes down and sits at 1500 rpm, Don't know if that's a separate issue or related.
Any help would be great...
Looking for some tips and y'all's experiences.
So I have a bunch of rust on the underbody of my 99 gsx, want to know what steps to remove all the rust and prevent from rusting again.
Sand/prime/paint/oil coat etc... Idk.
And sorry no, I do not have and pics at the time.
I have a 99 GSX. the person who had it before me took out the computer and put in a computer from a 95 with an ecm tuning chip (idk why), but when they did they cut into all types of wires, it's a very sh**ty job it's not wired right.
So I was wanting to know the correct way to do the swap so I...
Okay so I have a 1999 Mitsubishi eclipse gsx, I'm trying to get it inspected but I'm being told it won't pass because it has a 95 ECU (with a ECMLink tuning chip). Do I need to put the original computer back in?
Well I'm in the military and stationed in California and my car is back home in North Carolina so I can't do a whole lot, but I do still have that original piece if you know someone I could have it sent to to get repaired or new one made.
In desperate need of a fuel neck on a 1999 Mitsubishi eclipse gsx. I can't find the right one anywhere, and the dealership say's it's been discontinued. Can someone please help me find one (and I've already tryed Miller import)
Just did mine. Best way I found is to go from underneath, all you have to do is take off a bracket and the knock sensor is right there. Then I did like y'all and cut a slit in a socket (I had to use a 1-1/16), but I used a air ratchet (didn't have enough room for a wrench) and it came off easy.
right now the service engine soon light is on and no scanner i hook up will read anything.
got the laptop hooked up to it and connected but cant find the Misc tap that guy was talking about.
99 gsx
tried to hook a obdII scanner up to it to read the codes to get it inspected and put on the road but the scanner's pop up an error code saying its not connected so somethings wrong between the ECU and connecting port. I go to see if i can figure out whats wrong with it and there are wires...
Not worried about budget. I would love to do it my self but I'ma be out on a ship for months at a time so not gonna have much time. Wanna go ahead and get that part knocked out while I'm gone.
Oh yeah i know all of that. just taking it one step at a time.
and to answer your question, both.
i want to do the most i can with this car, and like you said put a GTR to shame/get that 7. 1/4 mile
so what do you say would be the first major step? right now its almost all stock.
my goal is to build it better than any other.
the most I've seen anybody get out of this engine is 550hp.
that's why i want to know whats the best engine/trans for a AWD that i could squeeze in it. i know I'll have to do some fabrication.
so i have a 1999 Mitsubishi eclipse GSX with a 4g63t, im gonna completely rebuild the car. but instead of just building that engine, i was wanting to know if anybody knew of anything better i could swap it with. whats the best engine i could put in it?
