Man I passed you one day in Spencer!!!! Right there at the stoplight in front of McDonalds on the edge of town, we kind of pointed and waived at each other. I had wondered if when I saw you if you were on the forums!

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

I'm located in southern Indiana but I wasn't sure if anyone knew of a good shop or personal mechanic who has experience with DSM's and ECMlink in the Indianapolis/indiana area?

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

Thanks everyone for the advice, I've definitely got a lot of work/learning ahead of me. I really appreciate your input and will attempt to get a thorough understanding of the ECM link software and probably picking the brains of my more mechanical inclined friends.

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

I have an AEM wideband, and it along with the ECMlink was installed by the PO or Brian Terhune who did a lot of work on the car. My datalog will allow me to capture and display the AFR estimate, but im not sure if that is entirely accurate.
  5. Monty7300

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

Ok, I updated my log files to include the AFRestimate which is what I'm assuming you were talking about was missing?
  6. Monty7300

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

Got ya, I'll have to order those.I actually do have a wide band, but it must not be feeding data into ECMlink. I'm not really sure how to do that, either. I'll search a little bit and see what I can find.

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

Ok, well there's something I can tweak. The ones I got from the part store were gapped at .32, I'm assuming I got the right plugs since I had them run the info on my car and pull up a list of replacement plugs?

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

Nvm, I got the logs to upload. The first log is small driving around a few city blocks slowly when the car is sort of bogging down or having a hard time getting going. The second log is me, driving home and pushing the car to get it to reproduce the issue. I really wasn't sure what data I needed...

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

Spark Plug gap is .32 just checked them all when I installed new ones.I 'm sorry, I left that out. I have a walboro 250 and I believe it is rewired. Is there any good way to upload an ECMlink file to the forums?

2G Fuel cut, bad tune, boost leak?

I've looked into it, and done lots of homework but still can't really find anything that covers exactly what seems to be going on in my car. It's a 96 gst with fmic, 16g turbo, 550cc injectors, 1g BOV, ECM link V3, and a full 3" exhaust. I had recently had some troubles with idling in the...

    2G Awful noise from suspension

Thanks everyone for the input, I recently had one of the ball joints replaced on the front right. I'll have to pull the wheels off and look into it more in depth. I'll keep you posted to see how it goe. Thanks again!

    2G Awful noise from suspension

Ok, here's the scoop. Over the last week my car has developed this terrible noise when turning the wheel or you can hear it slightly going over bumps or railroad tracks. Tonight I finally had the chance to get under the car and do some looking into the issue, I picked up some silicone lubricant...

2G Carbon fiber wrap prt. 2!

Thanks everybody, and I can give a bit of an update on the longevity of the wrap. It's been on for about 4 months and has seen temperatures near 0 as well as 80 degree weather and it has held up completely fine on both the spoiler and hood.
  14. Monty7300

2G Carbon fiber wrap prt. 2!

Lol thanks! I can agree, but for the money it was hard to beat. I've been looking for a local used carbon fiber hood that still has a good finish. So if anyone in IN knows of one let me know!

    2G What is this plug?

I can confirm it's not the trunk light connector the light still comes on when you open the trunk. But it could be the alarm switch my car is equipped with it. It goes off sometimes if the doors are locked but I use the key to open the trunk. possibly something up with that. Thanks for the...

    2G What is this plug?

I was looking around in my trunk and found this plug unconnected, I was curious what this was. I also have the low washer fluid light on even though I have plenty of fluid. Is it possible the sensor went out from either wear and tear or hot and cold temps (located in Indiana).

Is anyone around in the southern part of Indiana? Im located between bloomington IN and terrehaute IN, just curious if anyone goes to car shows or track days regularly in this area with their dsm?

    1g BOV trouble/comp surge

Thanks you were completely right, the hole was covered and keeping air from the bottom of the valve. A little cleaning and a new gasket and the thing is back to running the way it should be.
  20. Monty7300

    1g BOV trouble/comp surge

Thanks everyone for the input it's appreciated. I would guarantee that the previous owner hooked it up like taboo speed shop article, my setup looks just likes that. I'll be looking at the Vacuum lines again along pulling the BOV off cleaning it and putting a new gasket on it as soon as I get...

    1g BOV trouble/comp surge

I had a friend seal and put the BOV back on, we were we're working on several projects all at once and I was laying under the car at the time. So I will probably take it back off and just put a gasket on. It is possible that some of the sealant got into the BOV it does look like he got pretty...

    1g BOV trouble/comp surge

To be honest, I'm not sure why exactly it was set up that way. It was like that when I purchased the car 3 months ago, but even with the previous set up I didn't see any compressor surge. I'll do some more digging around and check out all of the lines when I have some daylight.

    1g BOV trouble/comp surge

So this is the story. A friend of mine had an extra SQV blow off valve so for fun we decided to see what it would sound like on the eclipse. We removed my 1g BOV and then realized that the flange for the sqv wouldn't fit so we put a new gasket on the original 1g BOV and reinstalled it. Since...

2G Carbon fiber wrap prt. 2!

Thanks, I would highly recommend the TC bunny brand. You can find it on amazon, awesome price I paid $32 for a 10'x5' roll and it is really easy to work with. It's very forgiving and with a little heat and a squeegee you can contour it around just about anything.

2G Carbon fiber wrap prt. 2!

Thanks lol I would love to do that, and I can't say it hasn't crossed my mind. Unfortunately, my help is going to a racing tech school in Ohio at the end of this month.Actually there is a thread on here where a guy wrapped his entire eclipse with a metallic dark grey and it looked really sick...

2G Carbon fiber wrap prt. 2!

The trunk deck would be so much easier than the spoiler, the material was really cheap too. I have 35$ in my hood and spoiler.

2G Carbon fiber wrap prt. 2!

After wrapping my hood turned out so well, I decided to give wrapping the spoiler a go. With the help of a few friends it turned out pretty well. Would love opinions or feedback! And if anyone has questions on the wrap or the process of wrapping Id be more than happy to help out!

    Carbon fiber wrap

Dsmkauai is right, you want a smooth surface to apply the wrap to. Just sand it down and clean it very good with like a rubbing alcohol.
  32. Monty7300

    Carbon fiber wrap

Here's a pic of under the hood, like I said before I didn't take a lot of time worrying about aesthetics as long as it was down good.
  33. Monty7300

    Carbon fiber wrap

I also opted for a really high gloss option which depending on what look you want, you can order just about anything. Here's a close up of the wrap and you can really see how it shines in he sunlight.Well, I didn't use any water on the hood although I've heard of people doig that. The wrap...

    Carbon fiber wrap

I didn't take any photos under the hood, but I mean I wasn't incredibly particular how it looked underneath I just wanted it to be stuck down really well. You could take your time under the hood too and do the proper trimming and keep it really clean looking. Mine definitely has rough edges but...

    Carbon fiber wrap

No problem man that's what this kind of community is for. Along with the tips so far, you absolutely need a heat gun it makes the process so much easier just don't go overboard with the heat.

    Carbon fiber wrap

Thanks! Yea the price and the quality of th material blew me away. The brand I used was called TCBunny the price was right and it had awesome reviews, I would highly recommend this product to anyone!
  37. Monty7300

    Carbon fiber wrap

Thanks! Yea much cheaper than the $700 hood. About 4 hours in a garage with the help of some buddies, 20$ worth of pizza to feed the crew and about 50$ in materials to wrap the hood and I still have tons of extra wrap. :dsm::hellyeah:

sorry I posted from my phone and the upload isn't going through, I'll update it tomorrow from my laptop.

    Carbon fiber wrap

Decided to wrap my hood. The car is silver with black accents so I thought carbon fiber or a flat black would complement it the best. The material was very easy to work with and the final results surpassed what I originally anticipated! Just thought I'd share, incase anyone else was on the fence...
