  1. Made 859 whp on my Talon with a PTE 6266

We are at about 500-600ft above sea level.EDIT:Just looked it up and apparently Winona is 664ish FT.Reviewed the log from the 152 run and at the top of 4th the car is flowing 79.8lbs/min shown in DSMLink. As far as posting a log, no offense but seeing we spent a lot of time on the dyno...
  2. Made 859 whp on my Talon with a PTE 6266

10.2 @ 152 opening run, rolling off the line and missing 2nd! HahaNot bad for never flooring the car in first or second on the street!More to come.
  3. Made 859 whp on my Talon with a PTE 6266

I completely agree... We were hoping for 77x like the other local here made on the same turbo. When he shot by that with no issues, we were very surprised as you can see by the video and me jumping for joy like a moron in the back ground. hahaha... Was pretty excited to see all the hard work and...
  4. Made 859 whp on my Talon with a PTE 6266

It made 740awhp on a Dyno Dynamics... They are usually a lot lower than dyno jet and mustang dyno's. In shootout mode (comparable to dyno jet numbers) it came out at 859.Mark Leasures Evo with the same turbo made 656awhp on the dyno dynamics at the same shop. He also dynoed at MAP on their...
  5. Considering a 2.2

Custom pistons will be cheaper than rods. You can get a set of custom pistons for 5-700 depending on the options you add.My pistons were $750 with just about every option I could add. A lot of which you would not need. When going that route... Find out what size wrist pin the rods will...
  6. Bov problem!!!

Explain your logic here...At idle, 1g/2g stock BOV's and other BOV's with light springs will remain open at idle. The vacuum from the intake manifold pulls the valve open at idle to allow air to bypass back into the turbo when recirculated. If venting to the atmosphere, this is a loss of...
  7. The DSM Shootout is close... where are you staying?

I will be camping! Most likely in an RV. :)
  8. What was wrong with this piston!

Thats why you take the block to the machine shop... Have them figure out how much it needs to be over bored, order the pistons, when you get the pistons, take them in and then have the block machined. :thumb:
  9. Considering a 2.2

I would give Marco@Magnus a call about the rods. I know he has built a few 2.2L engines and I know he deals with some custom sized rods. The Magnus I beam rods are available in 150/156/162 and I believe he custom orders them as well. They are from Australia so it might take a little while...
  10. The Official "What's this DSM worth?" Thread

But you cant make 400whp on a 3052 @ 27psi? (Stated in your profile)Just curious on your logic here...
  11. The Official "What's this DSM worth?" Thread

There is no possible way it dynoed that. Maybe they might get close if nitrous was used but no way in hell did they dyno that on 18psi.16g's maxed out are not rated at 420whp.You could always take the car and sell the SBR engine and parts out of the car, make money off it and put another...
  12. What was wrong with this piston!

Piston slap... Usually when the cylinder walls are a bit larger than the piston and out of spec, the piston slaps a lot more. This happens with wear overtime or improper machining/assembly.
  13. Where's Shep?

His car will most likely be down for most if not all of this year. He is modifying the car a little! ;)
  14. WiseMan Needed ### help!

Dont cut the plug off... Just use a jumper wire to test it. That way if its the sensor, just replace it and you can still plug it in without a hacked harness.
  15. I need a Bare block

Easy there turbo... He never said it was a 2.3 and in his profile it states "stock" so thats what I took it as, if you couldnt see it from my original post. From what I read and what he has told me, it was some guy that had the block machined and then assembled it himself. So there for if...
  16. Remove sway bars..track only car.

I've rode in and driven a few cars without them, including my own... Its not that big of an issue on the street unless you are on the freeway at high speeds. At the track if you are trapping 120+ the car gets a little loose when hitting the brakes after the trap.No need to remove them to find...
  17. I need a Bare block

Piston slap doesnt mean that your block is bad/needs a rebuild.Who ever built it, probably didnt check the piston/cylinder clearance and its probably a little loose. Balance wont cause piston slap either.Looks like someone just wants some money. Just run it until it wont run, seeing I'm...
  18. Tonight was intresting night

You're going to burn down my can huh? What exactly is the police going to do, except say, "Thanks, we'll keep and eye out" and never f@cking drive by your house again! The oil draining was a joke. Get over it.It happened to me about 4 years ago and was the result from some cocky little...
  19. Coolant gone. . . but to where. . .

If there is white smoke, usually that means coolant is getting into the combustion chamber/exhaust as stated before.Check the throttle body to make sure that isnt leaking coolant into the intake, I've seen that happen before.Just a thought, if for some reason no coolant is leaking into the...
  20. Tonight was intresting night

I agree with this...I was the one that suggested the Oil draining. Its a decent idea, ####s some shit up, but its kinda like kicking him in the nuts. :thumb:If you want to kick his ass, might as well do it. :rocks:
  21. Jdm Mitsubishi 4g63t Motors ?

I have ripped apart a few of these so called "JDM" motors and they were filthy! Valve seals were shot, shit load of carbon on the head, sludge throughout the motor. These motors are not pulled then sold right away. Another thing to think about is, it would take at least a month to get to the US...
  22. PST Carbon Fiber 2g 2-piece Driveshaft, It's Arrived!

That wont help much if he is trying to find out the power difference between the stock drive shaft and the PST. :pI am also interested in a part number.
  23. Compressor Surge or not??

Is the BOV opening? Is it stock or crushed? Make sure there is no kinks or cuts in the vacuum line that runs from the intake manifold to the BOV.
  24. engine/tranny install with drive belts?

Yes you can. It can be difficult, but its possible. You wouldnt be able to have the A/C belt installed and if the power steering pump is not bolted onto the block (left in car) you would need to put it on before you put the water pump/alt belt.
  25. Repair Time: Clutch replacing..

I would go with a upgraded clutch, there are quite a few vendor/site sponsor companies that carry a replacement clutch for your car. Check them out.As for how long it will take. For the unexperienced I would estimate a weekend. Once you do it, it will go faster the 2nd/3rd/4th/1000th time...
  26. washer pump and wiper motor???

Check the fuses as well as the wiring under the dash could have came loose.
  27. 1995 GST will not run. Please Help!

Check the TPS (throttle position sensor). I've seen them break and stick at 100% throttle causing the car not to start.Does the car try to fire? Sputter or anything? Change the plugs, they are probably fouled. Compression isnt low enough to make it not run.Usually if the plugs are soaked...
  28. Clutch replacement, what else to change?

OEM!!!! A lot of people have had trouble with the ACT TOB. Some say its OEM but I have reason to believe otherwise.Oil pan gasket can be done with tranny on. If anything, replace the rear main if leaking. I wouldnt mess with anything that isnt bad "yet". Like the saying goes, "If it aint...
  29. discuss

How low is your car/exhaust? What I've seen happen is the staging lights arent tripped until the back tires roll by, there for you knock off a good amount of time.Looks cool at least! :D
  30. exhaust manifold setup question?

Its quite easy... I believe a few companies even make block off plates for a few different wastegate flanges. Either that or go to a welding shop around you and have them make something to block it off.38-40mm flange would be very simple with a bolt on block off flange. A 44mm would be a...
  31. Cordless Impact Wrenches

I love them... Very handy, even the impact drill I have works great for everything. I used it to put a roof on a garage about a month ago and there were places where I could only reach with one hand and putting a 3" screw in with a drill would have been near impossible, the impact drill makes it...
  32. Clutch replacement, what else to change?

Throw out bearing... Grease the input shaft that the TOB rides on. I would replace the Fulcrum ball (pivot ball). Clutch fork really isnt necessary but if you want to you can.Make sure the flywheel has been resurfaced or brand new, locktite on the flywheel bolts is a good idea. Remember to...
  33. Need wiring instructions for IAT sensor and 5 bar map sensor.

Go to www.vfaq.com and click on electrical and select 2g ECU pinouts. You want pin number 72 for the intake temp sensor. The sensor is a bi-directional sensor so either wire can go to the sensor wire. The other wire goes to a ground. (look under the dash for the color of the wire in pin 72...
  34. Need wiring instructions for IAT sensor and 5 bar map sensor.

IAT sensor hooks to 2 wires on the MAF harness.5 bar MAP hooks to the 3 wires that run to the stock MAP sensor on top of the intake manifold. I'll find the wire colors and report back. :)
  35. deal or no deal

Thats a great deal... You could part it out or sell it and make a lot of money off of that. The interior alone is worth that price. Not to mention the 97+ bumpers/lights/sideskirts.Great daily driver. I love the black interiour. I want it.
  36. Fed up with internal gate...Is conversion to external wastegate worth it?

Wastegate off the O2 housing is very common and works great. I ran one for a few years and never had a problem with it. Some people suggest porting out the wastegate hole on the turbine housing so you allow the wastegate to flow as much as possible. Not sure how installing a DNP manifold would...
  37. Help.....I bent the lil arm on the auto tentioner. Is it still ok?

Well, be thankful you caught it now instead of having the timing belt break/fall off or jump a tooth. $80 tensioner is a cheap fix if you think about it!
  38. Help.....I bent the lil arm on the auto tentioner. Is it still ok?

When it comes to the tensioner, I would buy a new one. If you use it and it fails, thats a lot of extra money that it will cost you to fix whatever happens inside the head. I would suggest getting a new one just to play it safe. By bending it, you could cause it to leak or fail later down the...
  39. Not Quite Done... But I've Started Having Fun

Nice purple timing belt queer! :pI think you need a cage and a built motor, along with AWD! :DLooks good.
  40. Think your day sucked? Check out mine!

The front is usually the Feed on the turbo for the water inlet/outlets if you are looking at it while mounted in the car.Sucks man, now its time for a FP3052 or GT3076!EDIT: The air coming out of the coupler was most likely a backfire through the intake due to it being rich.
  41. Roll Cage installation

This was the 2nd Mild Steel cage that I've done. Although I've put a few mild steel roll bars in.There are 3 of us working on 2 Chromoly RWD drag cars in the shop right now, 1 is a RWD 1g, the other is a RWD Evo 8. There is a lot more extensive work that needs to be done. Here is the gallery...
  42. Roll Cage installation

Thanks guys... I try to do my best at everything I install/build.Yes its MIG welded. I tack weld the halo and rear bars to the main hoop, tip it forward and make sure I get the weld all the way around it, then tack the front bars, door bars and rear bars to the back, along with seat bar and...
  43. Roll Cage installation

Car is done and was delivered back to him on Sunday. Turn out very nicely and you can definitely tell it has better handling!Hope you like the cage Doug, pleasure doing business with ya. :thumb:
  44. Hooray for new tools...!

Its a infrared temp gun. They are great for checking outtake and return air temps from the Furnace/AC. :)I have the same Fluke Clamp meter. Works awesome.
  45. Roll bar/roll cage design

Yes, thats is what it will look like.
  47. Ludachris, How's The Baby?

Congrats man... Hope everything goes good and the baby is healthy and well.
  48. Roll Cage installation

I never said you did... I was talking about what IslandTSI said.It turned out very well. Better than my own personal car that I put a cage in.
  49. Roll Cage installation

How does that work? There is no way you could get the cage up that far. Do you have any pictures of it? I personally thing it would be ugly that far into the windshield. It doesnt looked hacked... I'll post some pictures tomorrow or Friday.
  50. Roll Cage installation

I'm not sure about auto cross, road racing, or rally, but this cage will be certified to 8.50 or slower in the 1/4 mile.
