That was probably my red tsi. I only went to the inlet show but it was parked there all day Saturday. I have been taking the talon since 2007 and my other DSMs since 2002 and rarely see other DSMers there. I too am usually looking around for some variety all while being laughed at in the process...
The fact that I dont have the money or time to finish the talon and the quote below sums it up. I love the talon and it is definitely my dream car, but the fact that its hard to get certain parts and the cost make me want to sell it and like DSMs from a distance rather then owning one. I have...
I know I know its pointless but still I want it and I can find it at all. I was wondering where I can find dual exhaust for a 1995 gst/tsi? thanks for your help
Without quoting your pic, what application are you using for part numbers and exploded views? I have a Chilton manual and the factory Chrysler shop manual and evtm(got both for free from the closed Chrysler program when I was in ford asset). But Id love to have a digital version for kicks.
Now you say the springs are 7 years old right? Try taking a damp paper towel and wipe the springs to see if there is soot or dirt on them, as it is quite common for springs that old to have some sort of debris especially for a DD'd car. After doing this you might find out they are actually red...
At least he/she revived his/her own thread. When I get into the suspension of my 2g like that, I plan on buying all the bolts and moving pieces too and just replace the whole setup. Why you ask? Well the previous owners didn't take car of the car and it sat in PA rusting out. When I did my...
I ordered a 3in o2 eliminator turbo back exhaust a while ago and as I'm assembling the system I notice the front o2 bung is on the down pipe and not the o2 housing/eliminator piece. Oh well no problem, just have to mount it different. But they sent me a test pipe instead of a high flow cat and I...
First of it was my fault for not looking for you having a 1g. As for the flow statement I got a "glasspack"/test pipe off ebay that was claimed to be 2.5in a few years ago and it was ~2.3in actual diameter.
Gooberlog, now thats a name from the past. You getting back into dsms? Last time I saw you was the Extreme dyno day. Im in the process of fixing up my 1996 tsi AWD.Anyways back on topic. The muffler being "under the seats" wont make a difference inside. The only sound from a functioning...
Not boosting or very little boost was a symptom of my turbo failing. I would say fix the exhaust leak and go from there. But to be perfectly honest, unless the leak is substantial then you may have a bad turbo.
Sorry to semi resurrect this thread, but I had/have the same issue. It would blow blue smoke after warming up, would stop on boost and smoke while driving around town under vacuum. I took the intake off to find pools of oil everywhere in my intercooler pipes, intake pipe a little and a nice pool...
I plan on a totally built and tuned motor so this makes me feel even better about my turbo choice. If they can pull 11sec on a evo3 like that makes me think with a built engine, ported and polished head with cams and all the support and tuning that I should be doing just fine. Id love to see...
You are correct sir, I plan on 93 octane 18-22psi range when the fuel/tuning mods funding gets approved. For now whatever the wastegate is set at (Im thinking its in the 10-14psi range).
I said I wanted to be able to max, but not actually max it. :p As for the purpose of this car, I plan to occasionally go to the local drag strip for a run or two and possibly do some light autocross for fun. As for the cruising you are correct in that its NOT street racing, rather a nice drive...
Exactly. I may just go for the dejon since it is rated for around 400hp. I dont plan on maxing the evo3, but Id like the option. This way its a direct bolt on, I get my sleeper look , and no chance of a power buldge. Thanks for all the help, its been a while since I was hot and heavy with...
Although Ive never been against modding a part, Id rather take the direct bolt on. The only one Ive seen for sale so far is dejon tool's SMIC. Ill look into hahn, but the issue is I havent seen it for sale for years.
I just bought an evo 3 turbo setup(not an ebay knock off) with all the exhaust needed to more then support this setup (evo3 ported manifold, 3in o2 eliminator turbo back with 3in highflow cat). Now Im working on the intake side of things. As it stands Im using 2.25 IC piping, 1g TB ported stock...
20psi + stock SMIC + stock 2.25 in exhaust = your problem. Those extreme limiting factors will cause knock, and retarded timing that will kill the seat of pants dyno. With your setup Id run as low boost as you can until you can actually support the turbo.
Ok I am about to rebuild everything in my car and I know Im getting a quaffie(dont know how to spell) but my clutch is another thing. I have heard great things about centerforce dual friction, act2100 and the act 2600. But I also heard that act2600 helps along cw in 2gs and I also heard that...
Ok I just installed a act 2100 and act xact flywheel about 1 1/2 weeks ago...how many miles did you break in your clutch and what were the results?
Andrew

I know this question is probly beat to hell....but I wasnt around here when it was being asked. Now I have read all the faq and vfaq, and I wanted to know what kind of turbo I would need for low 12s 11 sec times with decent low end tourqe so I can drive on the street. Now I am not looking for...
Yeah I have 3 people when I bleed it. One person pressing the clutch me on the bleeder, and someone adding fluid. Im going to flush the entire system out on friday and see if that changes things.Im sure there arent any leaks (but as always cant be 100% unless you use an adative and check)...
Ive bleed many clutch and brake systesm in my day, and its been done so many times its getting old. Ill try it once more, but I dont think thats the issue.
Ok this is the first time I have asked for help with a car issue Im having in a VERY looong time.Car: 1996 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD
Mods: UICP, LICP, Greddy CBV, Cone filter, and free mods.
Symptom: Clutch pedal is VERY soft at very random times.
History: Both clutch master and slave have...
Ok I know its not the best intercooler but right now I have a 1g ic in place, and its working fine now. I was wondering, for anyone who has experience with them, would a starion fmic with hard ic pipes, bov, cat back, and mbc set at 15; cool and flow enough for a t25 and a short while on a big...
OK I had ATR exhaust on my old GST, when I went to see what prices were for an O2 eliminator turbo back atr system I saw one vendor that was out of stock and no other vendors that seem to carry ATR. Have they gone out of business? Or did the system lack popularity and fall off the face of the...
I do also believe there is jail time possibilities too. When I was a tech the state inspector at the shop took it VERY seriously as any pass throughs would be the end of his career as well as many other bad things.
no events this weekend as its my buddies bachleors (spelling?) party. Fast? well yeah considering my last car was a 199 Audi A4 1.8t quattro automatic. This is my 3rd DSM though and also my final as it is my dream car/DSM.
kinda old but I raced one in my stock gst about 3 1/2 years ago kinda got me on the launch by a few feet, then I reeled him in and put him away pretty nice. But I was shocked at how those suckers haul for a family car... :rocks:
Ok I did this a LONG time ago and the car has since been sold and am now A/T. With that aside, I am going to review the ACT setup I mentioned above^^. I Installed this on my 1995 mitsubishi eclipse GST back in early 2003(saving the install instructions, as this site already contains them). The...
sound clips? When I went with straghit pipe all the way back it was VERY loud, and didnt sound as good as I thought it would, but that could be because the exhaust was facing up in a cavern underneath me car. So Id like to here this coming from out the back
yeah those prices in Canada suck, sorry to hear that. Thats like $2.50-2.75 in American which last time I checked blows really bad.... I feel really sorry for you 91 octane guys even though 93 aint too good anways...oh and to the guy about 140mph pulls please tell me your kidding???
the best Ive gotten is 214 for like 11.5 gallons. I know my gauge is messed up, but still. My old modded gst running pig rich and untuned would usually reach close to 400 miles to a tank :rocks: . But now with a/t and awd it kinda blows, especially when I pay 2.60 a gallon for 93 octane :barf:
I had a megan racing and the thing fit, looked , sounded and performed like a champ :rocks: . Installing it was like night and day with the car. I would say go with megan racing, I have neard some bad things about tsudo
