In my opinion I wouldn't do that. I have a friend of mine with the $2,000 Dominator computer from Holley. He's been to two or three tuners. They cannot get the car to rev over 3500 RPM. Andthis is on a common Ford 302 engine not an import. While I'm sure you can get a Holley to run our cars...
Why would you attach a 18 volt battery to a car?a car should never see more than 16v at any given time unless its modified for it . I hope you didn't fry any modules.you could of put another car around it and attached jumper cables.
Get a 2g TPS it has the IPS built in to it unlike the 1gs.
The 1990 TPS will not work without clever ingenuity but no matter what you use, a pigtail will need to be made.
I'm currently having the same issue with my car. It runs fine normally.I get on it it feels like It's just wasting time from 4500 to 6k rpm. it 6 know it feels like it won't go past that. Except I changed alot of stuff on the car car ran great just the way it is without the intake and fp exhaust...
Yes clutches, pressure plates, and tob(throw out bearings) are the same for any eclipse or variant from 90-99 with turbo engine. Na flywheel and entire clutch setup is different from turbo
First of all great job and as a guy with a colt with a 4g in it. These cars are crap when it comes to rigidity. Now i am ot criticizing or saying you did anything wrong. i have a question why didnt you got to the strut towers with the cage. I see everyone join the strut towers with bar and then...
If it were a 1g fwd you could use entire driveline with a few modifications. 2g not so easy.2g have roll stop mounts on transmission. 1g have the rolls stops on engine just like the colts.I have this swap done on my colt and man its fun. awd would be great but it's a big task. Like stated all...
bring it to my job. remove the ntls and launch go to a flat surface press the clutch and rev to see if the car rolls forward. you "SHOULD" (this is not me telling you to do so) be able to bounce on the limiter and the car stay still on an even flat smooth surface. the clutch is like that its a...
Please do me a favor when you split the cables. take alot of pics for me please so I can update the write up. And if you need me to help walk you through pm me. Also can I use some of the pictures you have already uploaded to update the write up too
http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/1990-shifter-cable-fix-need-extra-set-of-shifter-cables.494675/
I explained it pretty well but I didn't take many pics as I was stuck at work and had to get it fixed.Im gonna update it soon as I found it better to cut out the old no good cable. To keep the...
look at the cables in the inside. where it is attached to shifter base if the tube looking black plastic that covers the shift cables are the same legnth. then they are 90 cables. the front to back cable for the 91 and newer has a longer plastic which would then be wrong to use on 90. i made a...
I believe he still has those adapters around. he is not doing tunes from what I understand. Unless you want to change what you have and not a first time buyer
I have a feeling it's not i had the same issue.when I put the 91+ ecu in my car. At a certain rpm, or past a certain percentage of throttle.the tach went dead on my old car until I put back the 1990 ecu.the 1990 really are a bastard child.but they make a chip you can install internally in the...
ok make sure the palm and the palm desktop have the same user on both. that should be where the issue is. if you have to, reset palm. save wanted data first with mmcd tools
if you dont mind loosing a gauge in the cluster then take one out and install a 52mm or 2 1/16 gauge where you like. i did this with the factory oil pressure dummy gauge i put in a glow shift oil pressure gauge. felt more at ease. i can get pics tomorrow.
I used a stock 1g rubber intake pipe. used a 1g k&n filter screwed to the 2g maf with a thin piece of sheetmetal in between the 2. No pics as i sold the car
you cant take the 4 bolts out to get the damper off. arp arent you average bolt. not gonna be able to drill it that easy.that being said the surface is hard and getting through it is a b****. get a black 3/8 socket or one size smaller but for the impact gun and hit it until your hear a solid...
OK, I like a lot of people here have a 1990 (odd ball) talon.
My shifter cables were giving me issues for a while until one day they finally gave up. I couldn't get the transmission into reverse, second was tricky to get but got it every once in a while. I had an extra set of cables from a...
If you want some local bearing suppliers can order them for you. that's what I did. I ordered 2 of each. Came out to 40 and change I believe. just in case I messed one up but its super easy. Before you take the return spring off ,draw a line on the coils in the same directon as tha shaft. zip...
Idk if it was done how is the pedal assembly.I know you basically rebuilt the whole car but I have to ask. Maybe the master to the pedal assembly may need a little more adjustment. There is a video jacks does where if you can't push in the slave then it's too far.
i had really really bad injector seals and i dont have a boost guage hooked up yet but the car ran like crap on boost. would sometimes stall in between shifts when boosting and throttle seals are shot getting those soon and other little stupid leaks. throttle seals are usually bad especially if...
Can I suggest the knuconceptz battery terminals great prices and prices are not bad either https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JK9FTZI/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Qc8Avb19SP2JHlet me know what you think
As stated before there are many many different variables to account for. it all depends where and when it's being used Examples below.Track (tires grab way better) turn it up to 3500 for street tires I'd say 4000 for slicks. that's accounting for a good burnout.Street after a good burnout...
If they are both 3 bolts Just change the center diff. If you're going to a 4 bolt then you'll need to swap everything over. If your rear is healthy then I would say swap the ring an pinion and while you're at it properly shim it and make sure they are contacting in the right area on the pinion...
after the screws are removed give it a tap(towards the back of the car) from the door side with your hand should come ou t. its slides toward the back of the car to unlock
Dsms don't have a vin stamped into the firewall. There is a firewall plate that's its not in place. Turns out they removed all the vins but one hidden in the trunk I'll post pics up when I get home
Turns out I was right on, with my feeling. The car was tagged (vins were cleaned off and the put a dash from another car). to make things worse. the person I purchased the car from will not give me what I paid for the car. Now the car is not worth the 650 I payed for It. I'm so freaking pissed...
peace of mind because there is only one place the vin is visible. that place is quite easy to change just by swapping another dash or new rivets.I don't want to be the one to find out someone swapped tags on a car I bought. i do not think the guy I bought it off of is shady. but who knows the...
I'm mainly looking for the peace of mind. Of having them where I know they go. on all my other cars it was stamped into the firewall. I'm gonna check and make sure the others match the dash I think that's more what I'm afraid of finding another different vin somewhere else.
ok i bought a car from someone who buys dsm cars and parts them out (dsmpartout.com).the car only has one vin tag (dash). the car was painted and they did the door jambs same color. idk if at the same time the rear driverside 1/4 was replaced or if it was before the paint. any way i dont have...
