No smoke should eliminate it being a fuel problem. More than likely its eletrical due to it being exactly 6k rev. I know it sounds weird but un plug the ecu and smell the pin connectors for burnt electrical.
Have you pulled the brakes and compressed the calipers? If not pull the fluid cap and start with the furthest from the master cylinder. If they compress make sure you grease them before they are reinstalled. Be sure to pump the pedal before driving.
Some joker wrecked the paint job on the ride I bought. He had a vinyl wrap over the rare blue then did a poor job of removing it. After that he claims to have sanded it then hit the entire ride with canned plasti liner! :beatentodeath:
To get into tight sanding spots there are alot of different tricks depending on the surface. You can wrap your s paper around different shaped objects to get into tight spots. There are different size wire brush kits for cheap too. Solvents can be useful as well, just use accordingly. It might...
If you like you can come check it out and maybe give me some pointers. I have a decent platform to start with, but by the looks of your ride you might be embarrased to roll with me lol.
I like the way yall think, and I totally agree. I'm not trying to make this discussion a Cwalk spam fest. If anything I would like to get the point across that if some one has a drive and a goal to do something and is looking for certain answers it shouldn't be such a pain being that this is...
So what one is prone to walk? Split or flanged. Also do you guys have any leads on a short block? I found one that a member posted for sale for a hundo, but i get the feeling there will be no response.
After being told that my idea of overhauling the 7 bolt that's in my car due to a spun bearing is a waste of time and money by numerous people here, I have become confused. Not having an explanation as to why other than crank walk. I'm under the impression that for a few hundo I could replace...
Oh man that's a great question. The car needs some parts and I've been strapped for cash since the holidays. It spun a main bearing so it needs a crank, rods, and new timing . Once I come up with that it would take about a few days. It seems like every time I find the parts for a good deal the...
My input would be to pull the timing cover and check the belts and pulleys for wear and play. As far as the sparking behind the crank pulley sounds like the crank sensor is grinding. With the timing cover off that would be the ideal time to check it.
I like the Idea of a rebuilt 6 bolt motor. Is there ECM issues? I am looking at replacing the crank and all teardown seals, possible rod replacement and a through cleaning. Even though the cause of the spun bearing is undetermined i'm confident enough in my mechanic skills to decipher what...
Wow Quick response thank you for your time Burst! I will definitely check out your recommendations. I'm probably just gonna rebuild the 7 bolt thats in er. Not looking for a racer just a cool daily that can get outta its own way.
The car looks as though minor performance mods have been done. IE balance shaft delete, three inch exhaust, drop kit, performance clutch sticker lol, turbo timer, AC removed, KnN air box upgrade.
I suppose the proper method is deductive reasoning at this point.
I'm in north Texas. I've recently bought a 95 talon tsi fwd. The car has a spun bearing and has left metal shavings throughout the oil passages. I'm frugally repairing this car and joined this forum for suggestions on a solid rebuild without selling my unborn children to get it back on the road.
