Hello, my intake manifold seems to be missing a large vacuum fitting on the backside of it, I am looking for a replacement and would appreciate if someone could tell me size of the thread and maybe where i can pick up a stock one, or maybe a part number? Thanks.
No update, the problem still persists just have had no time to work on the car. Although I did change the engine harness to a new unmolested stock one. It didnt change anything. I emailed Tactrix for help, he told me that there is a problem with my OBD. thats what the whole problem is, EcuFlash...
Have you tested fitment with an evo tranny? If you cut and replace the mounting tabs on the frame for fitment of a 3g trans, the evo one may be different and potentially in the stock 420a tranny location as I have heard. Which would require you to then modify again if you ever go AWD, which isnt...
I realized I had not uploaded the entire log from my ECUFlash log window, here is the complete one:[13:49:16.290] EcuFlash Version 1.44.4671

Hello, I have had a very busy couple of weeks, finally got around to hooking up EVOScan and attempting to log, no dice, I got an error similar to the EcuFlash one:Info: OpenPort 2.0 Found.
Info: OpenPort Firmware v1.16.464
Info: Battery 5.032V
Info: Initialize Vehicle ECU...
Info: DSM...
My car is not running yet, my ECU is not prepared to run the current setup on my engine, I have bigger injectors, turbo, etc. Thus my need to modify my tune.
Hello, I have been trying to read my ecu with ECUflash but I get a pop up error while doing so.
I have a 1999 Eclipse GSX with a verified flashable 99 black box ecu.
I have installed ECUflash and Ceddymods correctly.
I have the HEX and XML files in the correct folder.
My vehicle selected is the...
Well that just put me over the edge, the prospect of this becoming AWD is far beyond exciting, I really hope that you can document the important details here.
If you are getting new front knuckles maybe you should look into the JDM/EDM Galant knuckles so you can use evo brembos as a bolt on affair, just a suggestion!
I am apprehensive about posting, but I am having a few questions about getting started using CeddyMods. I have read numerous pages of all of the large ECUflash threads, but the amount of random ecuflash information in them makes it daunting to read. I know there are some people here with deep...
Are you asking if you need a 2000 pound lift to hoist an engine out of the bay? If so you are plenty good with a half ton or 1 ton lift. Also you shouldn't need to pull the engine to replace a cam seal.
You don't understand how long I have been waiting for this. Wow! That looks spectacular, please post a bunch of pictures of different angles. Please go into detail as well. Phenomenal job man congrats!
I've done it! #1 is the Pulse Generator and #2 is the ELC 4-speed Automatic Transaxle Control Solenoid Valve! Thanks for the help guys, I will upload the proof that these connectors are what I say so that people can possibly use them in the future.
Thank you, I also realized from some research after you identified the connector that the reverse lights are there as well, great to know.I have identified what the last 2 connectors are, #4 is the A/T fluid temperature sensor and #5 is the Kickdown servo switch.I hope these connectors can...
Where does #3 plug in to the car in the engine bay, is it on somewhere in the transmission? Any chance for a picture of that in the bay?Edit: I've confirmed that #3 plug is Nuetral safety switch plug, thanks. As for the others, I am not sure if you even looked, probably not, but they are also...
Sounds good, I will try and take some reasonable pictures in the morning, there is no more loom on the wire harness so everything is kind of everywhere at this point.
Based off of this thread: http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/2g-engine-bay-electrical-connections.298047/#1 is neither the main fan or A/C condensor fan.
As for #3 and #4 if you are talking about the Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge Unit and the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor those are not them.
I have a 1999 auto gsx engine harness that I am making into a tucked harness, I was using the Engine Bay Connector Identification thread and it was amazingly helpful. Unfortunately it was missing some connectors that are on my harness. The harness is stripped and I have no way of knowing the...
Hey UrbanSmoker you said you used a MK3 golf radiator, I also need a rad that fits inside of the radiator support area as that would fit my turbo and manifold perfectly, any chance you can tell me which one you bought. I looked at your profile, it fits great. As for weight reduction I know...
With your wheel on and bolted down and the front tire jacked up, if you try and push and pull the wheel toward you and back into the wheel well in a shaking motion it is the wheel bearing for sure. If you are in an area where the car gets rusty it could be your brake dust shield hitting your...
You said you are using a Forward facing oil filter housing? If so, the FFOFH has a pressure relief hole around where the gasket surface is. This hole has been reported to cause low oil pressure as it is not on any other OFH that comes on a dsm. The low oil pressure problem can be fixed by...
Does anyone have the part numbers for the, what I believe are rubber, pieces/plugs that go on the manual trannys? I circles them in red, my tranny didn't come with them. Also what are they called and do ones from a 420a tranny work on ones for 4g63s.
I have got to say you really did a top notch job on this body work for both the rear bumper and the side markers. I am thoroughly impressed with how much the side marker delete cleaned up the side of the car. It truly is the small things that count. Great job.
This is some serious bad luck, I started reading from page one and was so happy to see you had fixed your car, then I saw the dates and was wondering why in the world this post was bumped.Come to find you did it again lol! Repacing the radiator supports is not that big of a deal, I replaced...
If you are considering a diesal swap, the best way to do so would be to use a Mitsubishi engine and drive train, anything else and you are over complicating things. Why use anything other than Mitsubishi parts when Mitsubishi has exactly what you need. From 1991-1997 Mitsubishi Chariot had a...
Using the 2.0 cable you will also be able to use CeddyMods to flash your ECU if you plan on upgrading your car later on, it is free unless you wish to use speed density then it costs around 20 bucks or so.
Just like JusMX141 said, Do what ever you want. I implore you to do so. Thats the point of owning something, it's yours and only you can do whatever you want with it. BUT, there is a reason some, including myself, will advise you to not use the 420a, we want to see your car and yourself do well...
Welcome to the DSM world.Putting an eclipse 4g63 into a GS is ridiculous it requires cutting and welding of mounts and frame pieces, its kind of silly. On the other hand Evo 4g63 engines have been put into DSM's with literally no modification to the body of the car, you will have to modify...
If you still haven't found out where it is coming from I suggest cleaning everything up, turning the car on and letting it run without driving it so that the wind doesn't blow oil around. By doing this you will be able to narrow down exactly where it is coming from.
I understand you "hate" hard lines, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with hard lines especially if you prepare them correctly before putting them on. Full braided stainless steel lines are going to be extremely expensive but if that's what you want then you need to make sure you have...
If you are removing the spring from a shock absorber you are definitely going to want to use a spring compressor. Here is a great video created by one of the members here.
This is the newbie forum, so I believe it is allowed. Just a word of advice to OP, it's best to over shoot your goals as far as parts are concerned so if you decide to change your mind about what you want from your car you can very readily do that while only having your block built once. Also +1...
