yeah I don't think he cares about buying cheap, and doesn't have much money, which is why I kinda said he should just get a gst and if anything build that up some. in that case say he gets a 16g what internals/fuel system upgrades would be smart boost probably 10-14 psi

so been having problems with the car but narrowed it down somewhat I believe I have a stethoscope and I am almost 100% its top end, and I put driver seat in to test drive. had low oil psi for a bit then looked again and had none whatso ever. any ideas? hopefully I noticed in time or does that...
so knocking noise started and kind of came and went now at 2k rpm its easy to hear... first thought was rod or rod bearing. so I tried holding at rev where I could here the knock then pulled each plug wire off one at a time but knock never topped so does that mean it has to be something else...
when I held it revving to when the knock starts I pulled plug wires one by one off and knock stayed consistent the whole time. does this make the list of possible causes smaller? like could it still be a rod or rod bearing
as far as rod or rod bearing how accurate is the test where you pull spark plug wire off one by one when knock stops that's the one with the problem? and any easy ways to get downpipe off so I can remove oil pan if needed?
well shouldn't I drain the oil before pulling the pan off? but I really don't think it's a rod. could be wrong so i'll check but otherwise how hard is it to pull head off to look upo there? or am I better off pulling whole engine. I'm comfortable doing it myself so I don't feel like paying...

trying to hook up oil psi gauge, where does the stock one go in on the block? is it easy to get to?next air fuel goes to the o2 sensor on intake?and electric fuel psi I assume goes to fuel regulator but where is that

I had no idea the size of my turbo when I first bought my car either, I knew it wasn't stock but I was able to take enough numbers off the housing to type on google and that helped me to find what I had.
I have the tri pillar mount, and a couple other mounting cups placed to look nice, with bosst gauge/controller. air fuel ratio, fuel pressure, oil pressure, and voltage because with a system I want to keep an eye on that.
I'm Jon I have been working on my 96 gst. trying to get it show room ready. all exterior work is done for a while and the engine has been all re built with a td06 20g and all new everything pretty much. right now the interior is laying in the garage.
have you tried craigslist? even if you go a good 5 hour drive to get it. sometimes it helps. that was how I found mine, the drive sucks cause you want it lol but it's worth it.
It wasn't today, but yesterday I put the door poppers in both doors (shaved handles). also put all new speakers and head unit in. halfway done painting engine.
