ah i see, personally i would try to make the swap easier, but even for insurance purposes a gst is less spendy than a gsx.my gs had a full from gst clip on the front, done write and my insurance is way less for a gs than a gst

When I rebuild motors I see white smoke for up to a few weeks, then it fades out, it's excess lube/oil.Clears up, and then it's fine

No not really normally white smoke is oil burning and black is gas not burning completely.I think you have oil getting into the cylinder from some point, if it started after the work was done it's probably a error in the rebuild.It might just be excess lube or oil, from the stuff done, how...

thats what im thinking, not sealing properly, allowing oil in, then it burns off at start up.this will produce white or greyish white smoke

great build so far, being a huge datsun fan and eclipse fan i am deff keeping an eye on this.as for a few people dissing the rb series, lame, rb's are fantastic, and the block design stems from the l series motors. including the l28et. a bad ass but very heavy motor.

just curious, wouldnt it be easier to just toss the motor in the gsx shell you have?

to be honest, it wouldnt be hard or even that expensive to re-wrap this in new cf, and the multi layer would probably make it strong as hell.i know how to wrap carbon fiber, let me know if your interested and we can get it done in a weekend

might not even need to glass it, i would rough sand it in the crack, resin it, the sand the entire thing down and decide if you want to re cf it or paint it.

Yeah that's toast for looks unless you totally re- wrap over the existing cf, you can repair it and make it functional but that busted cf will always show unless you cover the entire hatch or just paint it

Have some MAJOR updates coming, next project will be dsmlink.Fixed over boost and o2 codes, running great, replaced engine mounts, timing belt, all gaskets.And yes we still have the thumb tac headliner :)

How do I check the waist gate to see if it is leaking?I need to get the over boost under control so any advice would be helpful

But I don't know to much about waist gates, can someone explains to me where the tubes go and what to look for on the waist gate to adjust boost?I'm not really looking for huge hp numbers, just a cool looking turbo eclipse that is reliable is my main goal here.
