So... The car art part got pushed back again, but we have made progress on the auto body. She had a total of twelve dents that have been fixed and repaired, everything was block and sold sanded after a second highbuild primer spray.Did the first two coats very lightly, will be doing more...
The car art project has been pushed back to 4/17/16, but on a lighter note i finally have all the ext parts i need to make the outside ready and perfect, I will be grabbing my factory oem paint this weekend and will start prepping the parts for paint and clear and install this weekend, finished...
the deadline on this is getting closer and i still have not found anyone to help apply the clear coat or allow me to be loaned the equipment, please help if possible
so guys and gals, I have a great opportunity for my car top be featured in a sharpie art project by my good friends local art studio, it will be held in downtown gresham 4/10/16, the car will be ready to have some of the very best local artists to perform some sharpie art on the car and really...
the new front bumper came in yesterday and i will be gathering the rest of the parts i need to have the car ready for this car art deco project this weekend, the deadline isnt far away so i will be throwing everything i have at this over the next few weeks to make sure the project goes smoothly...
so a friend of mine has provided me with a very unique opportunity. He owns an art studio and has a number of key artists who want to do a sharpie art deco project, they elected my car, the plan is a japo new and old school theme, black on white, the project deadline is 4/10/16, so i will be...
removed the janky ass fan switch in the car and i am almost done wiring the fans properly through the oem relay, thanks to a buddy and this forum is was pretty simple
thx!!! yeah my gst was fun and quick, went and saw my friends gsx project and decided to sell the gst and wait for a decent project gsx. super stoked, just need to get some kinks worked out
honestly if he is a close family friend i would ask if you can take the car to a body shop and put it on a frame rail to check for frame damage and then go from there, i have personally repaired cars that look worse than this but is it worth it?go this route, see what the actual damage is, and...
My friend came over and plugged into the ecmlink, looks like its all messed up and not tuned at all, looks like 650 injectors and wideband and omni sensor already installed, the car has either a parasitic drain from somewhere or a bad battery or bad battery relocation wires to the trunk, the...
So. Some Pretty cool updates.
Pulled the ecu today and confirmed it has ecmlink, put the entire interior back together and got extra parts and panels she needed from the junk yard and have a gage pillar on the way to fix the janky ass one in the car, so the interior is totally done beside the...
Hello all. Sold my last dsm about a year ago at an awesome price, the build was 0 to midnight. I have been trolling around for a gsx and I finally found one.The gst was fun and cool, but it wasn't the best of the best, and that's what I wanted to build, so I finally got a gsx and have some big...
The beast started spitting at full throttle and the srs light came on last night.I guess I'll check for boost leak first and see what's up.Any other suggestions?
ah i see, personally i would try to make the swap easier, but even for insurance purposes a gst is less spendy than a gsx.my gs had a full from gst clip on the front, done write and my insurance is way less for a gs than a gst
I use megan for my supension, quality parts and a great price, fully adjustable and has damper controll also.I've used them on my nissans, toyotas, and mitsu's, and not once have i had a problem
No not really normally white smoke is oil burning and black is gas not burning completely.I think you have oil getting into the cylinder from some point, if it started after the work was done it's probably a error in the rebuild. It might just be excess lube or oil, from the stuff done, how...
great build so far, being a huge datsun fan and eclipse fan i am deff keeping an eye on this.as for a few people dissing the rb series, lame, rb's are fantastic, and the block design stems from the l series motors. including the l28et. a bad ass but very heavy motor.
to be honest, it wouldnt be hard or even that expensive to re-wrap this in new cf, and the multi layer would probably make it strong as hell.i know how to wrap carbon fiber, let me know if your interested and we can get it done in a weekend
might not even need to glass it, i would rough sand it in the crack, resin it, the sand the entire thing down and decide if you want to re cf it or paint it.
i would love to meet up and talk dsm, im also looking for help on a spray booth to use so i can repaint.let me know when i good time to talk and ill give you my number.im also an insurance agent and might be able to save you some cash...E.
Yeah that's toast for looks unless you totally re- wrap over the existing cf, you can repair it and make it functional but that busted cf will always show unless you cover the entire hatch or just paint it
After dcm link I'll be going through the entire body work again with the kiddos, making sure it's perfect, I have a new idea I want to try on the paint scheme
Been driving and working on my 240sx rb20det build a lot the past 7 months, plus I was hit by a semi in my dd and was in the hospital for a month, doing better and ready to get back on this dsm wich is about two weeks away from becoming my dd now
Have some MAJOR updates coming, next project will be dsmlink.Fixed over boost and o2 codes, running great, replaced engine mounts, timing belt, all gaskets. And yes we still have the thumb tac headliner :)
But I don't know to much about waist gates, can someone explains to me where the tubes go and what to look for on the waist gate to adjust boost?I'm not really looking for huge hp numbers, just a cool looking turbo eclipse that is reliable is my main goal here.
Thx for the tip, but I have a little different idea I use to do on my 240sx, I'm going to build a removable cat mount on the frame, slap it on, pass deq, then take it right back off and put it on the shelf for next year
