    1G Tuning a 1g eclipse no dsmlink

You have to define what "tuning" means to you. Can you make it faster? Sure, but you can only go so far with MAF and the stock ECU and the options are limited. I wouldn't really call this tuning. and for that you'll need Link, some other compatible software, or a standalone system (which...

A few (very) more OEM driveshaft yoke kits and U-joints.

Are the OEM spiders significantly stronger? I spent last week trying to figure out who is supplying aftermarket U-joints for these cars, and I think Moog 389 and Spicer 5-1503X are the right parts, but I am not sure how good they are, as I know these companies have multiple tiers of quality as...

AWD Spyder - Fast for cheap attempt

I bought a PSB-1 and I have ECMlink but the more I think about this, the more I am not sure how to make everything work together. Can you offer some details about what you are doing here? Are you actually using the boost cut relay from the PSB-1? How are your wideband and MAP sensor getting...

Wow. This is amazing. I never envisioned myself paying this much for a water pipe, but I'd say money well spent considering most of the alternatives. Great product!

What happened to the 1000 DSM FAQ site?!

I have uploaded a mirror of the zip file from DGajre777 to my site on Amazon Web Services.. I don't think that will retire any time soon.http://haxors.us/dsm1000/A lot of the images from the original site are still hard linked to http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q, but I will spend some...

I have no idea how many horsepower it has now but I do agree that I am no longer as excited about finishing my DSM!

2G sometimes it pulls, sometimes not

The stock gauge doesn't exactly measure manifold pressure, it is a calculated value based on airflow entering the engine through the MAF... so no, I don't think it would appropriately show what you are experiencing, and I would expect it to read the same in both pulls even if you had a boost or...

Bottom line on 14B to 20G TDO6SL2 upgrade?

Appreciate the detailed response. I will take it all in to account. Probably won't make a move until spring, I have some maintenance/reliability work to do before I start upgrading the turbo.

    1G Cruise control issue

    1G Cruise control issue

Might have spoken too soon, it seems after closer inspection that part # is for non-turbo cars... I will see if I can confirm this.Either way, the location should be the same.

Is this EPROM ECU worth saving?

@steve I meant to put this in the post RE: knock board: Is it okay that the gooey black crap seems to be missing? There is still kind of a clear goo there, but its not like my working ECU which has a black film over it.

Bottom line on 14B to 20G TDO6SL2 upgrade?

Good input thanks. @GST Jeremy , they quoted me $550 for the rebuild plus upgrade (I think that included the billet 20G wheel, but I need to clarify). The prices are so reasonable, I would not dream of outright buying a 16G. They can pretty much put any wheel in there, so I am not married to...

Is this EPROM ECU worth saving?

This ECU came with my car, I know it doesn't work because I had to bring a working ECU just to drive the thing home. I know the guy had some ebay ECU repair shop do work on it to try to get it working, and I can tell it is a pretty terrible job.I know it is impossible to completely tell...

EBC / Brembo Blank rotor comparison

Brilliant! ROFLI do agree that for occasional back road twisties and DD, this question is probably pointless... the design was just different enough that I wanted to see what people thought.I have the Brembos mounted right now, but the car is nowhere near driving anytime soon.

EBC / Brembo Blank rotor comparison

So by chance, I have ended up with two sets of rotors for my 1Gb and I am trying to decide which ones to use. There is no financial incentive to keep one over the other. I am hoping to get a good discussion on the technical merit of each, while avoiding any brand loyalty.I think the main...

Coolant pooling on top of exhaust valves?

Thanks, I hope you are right. I did notice a bit of a flat spot in the upper RPMs at WOT, but it felt a little intermittent, kind of like a slipping clutch, but then it "catches" again after a second. Kind of strange. This car is driving me crazy already ROFL

Coolant pooling on top of exhaust valves?

I thought about a BHG obviously, but could that really allow coolant to get to the outside of the exhaust valves? It almost has to be a cracked head right? Maybe I am thinking about it wrong. In my 600 mile drive back to Nashville, I had zero temperature problems, noticed zero smoke from the...

    1g talon tsi clutch upgrade

I wouldn't do it for a street car. The 4 puck is for drag racing mainly.. very on/off, you can't really feather it like you would on the street for normal driving situations. It does sort of depend on HP requirements (you don't mention that) but I would stick to the standard clutches. If you...
