Update again: the issue is back with the same weird symptoms. Drive fine to class and was super tight when I came back. Is it possible that it’s a sticky cylinder combined with cold temperatures? Or something else?
Update: Left the bolt on the clutch pedal loose overnight and the pressure dissipated. I tightened it down before I went to class this morning and on my short drive it didn't seem to be building anymore pressure.
Earlier this year, probably 8-9 months ago at this point, I had my master and slave cylinder replaced and when that happened the shop didn't adjust the clutch pedal correctly resulting in the "build up." I got under the dash and adjusted it to the point where it may not have been perfect but it...
I can attest, the rit dye method works. I dyed my carpets with Rit Dye for around 8-10 hours, rinsed them off, let them dry, then touched up some areas with black fabric paint from the auto parts store and almost 2 months later they still look great.
Either way good luck. Was jealous when you found the rust bucket GSX and was sad when you sold the Spyder. Hopefully this GSX is nicer to you, best of luck to ya.
I took it to this place locally
https://rodscustom.com/
It cost about $1250-$1500 I can't remember exactly but they bought and installed the new top and it's been great. The only leak I've had has been where the top meets the top of the windshield because my windshield seal has dry rotted so...
Still not much to update, recently dyed my carpets using Rit Dye method and some fabric paint and painted my center console lit. Not sure how I feel about the lid because it came out a lot shinier than I had anticipated. I'm mostly trying to focus on my interior right now since I can't afford...
Not a fan of most of the body kits for our cars, but I actually don't mind the front bumper. Not a big fan of the side skirts or rear bumper but the front one isn't bad.
Like stated above, make sure nothing is dripping on you alternator. I had a crack in my valve cover that was dripping oil all the way down to the top of my alternator and eventually fried one of them. After that, make sure there is nothing shorting out, I had an LED break while installing new...
Not trying to hijack the thread, but if someone got an evo X radio and steering wheel, is there any way to make the wheel controls work to control the radio?
Personally I think 18"-19" is perfect for 2G. Also remember that if you go bigger, if you have stock brakes they're gonna look tiny behind all that rim.
Yea this is just a temporary fix, my original plan was to get the spoiler around the time I wanted to paint the car but then I got a great deal on the spoiler that I couldn't pass up before I was ready to paint so I'm just going to have the body shop weld the holes before I have the car painted.
In my spyder I have a 12 inch PowerBass truck sub underneath my convertible top. I don't know the exact power output of the sub but it sounds pretty good with minimal rattling unless I turn the volume up to like 20. It was really easy install since the came in a shallow box that was just wide...
Really not much to update just figured I'd let y'all know I'm not dead or anything. So I finally tracked down the loose ground wire that would cause my radio to cut out intermittently. On a much more noticeable front, a few cosmetic things. For starters, while making a turn I cut it a little...
I'm currently removing my low rise spoiler to install a turbo spoiler and I've run into a small snag. I bought round 5/16" rubber plugs to fill the holes but I didn't realize some of the holes were square or rectangular as well. Does anyone know where to buy these plugs?
The first one looks like an aftermarket boost controller and the second one looks like the bracket for the battery tray but I could be wrong on that one. I'm not sure on the other 2.
That's why I said "somewhat correctly." I plan to monitor it and adjust it as needed until I can get it to the right point described in the Jack's video.
Another update, hit it with some PB Blaster and that didn't do anything or so I thought. I tried turning the nut and again the rod turned with the nut. Started driving a short way to get some food and randomly my clutch went extremely soft, not undrivably soft but no longer experiencing the pump...
Just an update on this thread, I am trying to loosen the nut on the rod but the rod turns with the nut. I can turn it either way clockwise or counter clockwise and it doesn't affect my pedal at all. I can't seem to get anything with enough grip to hold the rod while I turn the nut either. Any ideas?
I've seen the jacks video. Is the nut I have to break loose the one on the front of the silver thing? If so, that not won't move. I turn it and turn it and it doesn't move on the threads. I can't see anything else turning that I'd have to hold in place while I turn to break it loose.
I know this has been beaten to death but I am experiencing some issues adjusting my master cylinder. I am experiencing the 2G pump up in the clutch. I had my clutch replaced last summer and the master and slave cylinders replaced about 2 weeks ago. I went out of town so I didn't get to drive the...
I've been searching for the better part of 30 minutes and I've seen a lot of threads from 2004-2005 about 19 inch rims and from what I've found is them talking about 19x8 or 19x9.5 rims. I am just wondering if 2011 mustang GT Brembo rims would fit with no rubbing on an eclipse with no lowering...
If anyone wants another way to do this they could do it like me as far as keeping the lettering.
1.Sand outside leaving letters on.
2.Paint body color.
3.Wait for paint to dry and set completely them apply plastidip over the paint
4. Once plastidip is dry, carefully cut out/off the letters...
Oh ok. I'm not really an electrical guy so I wasn't sure. Your reverse lights may be getting power from somewhere else. One of my friends in high school had a lexus and he bought aftermarket LED tail lights and while wiring them up accidentally spliced his reverse lights into his brake lights so...
I know you said you checked the reverse switch. Did you replace it? Mine didn't work at all and fixed my problem after completely replacing the switch. The only other thing I can think of is maybe something is loose in the transmission. I'm not 100% sure how the reverse switch works, but my...
Yea I saw those in the massive OEM seats from other cars thread and that's why I got the Celica seats:thumb: That and they were the first to become available to me between Rx8, S2000, Celica, and RSX seats.
I haven't mounted them yet. I am currently looking for information about what would be needed. If I find anything or get them mounted I'll let you know but it is looking like I'll either need custom brackets or modification to the stock ones.
So I recently got a set of seats from a 2002 Celica from the local yard. After looking at the seats and mounting points they are anywhere between .5"-1" off. The brackets look like they're held on by steel rivets. I know nothing about seat mounting and a little bit about fabrication. I am...
So I haven't updated in a while and there's still not much to report right now. Since my last update I tracked down my boost leak to a tear in my UPIC pipe. I also installed solid shifter bushings on the tranny end and solid shift plate bushings. I've also painted my windshield wiper arms and...
So I got a valve cover off a N/A 92 Talon from a local yard with intentions of painting it. I was looking at it on my shelf along with the other parts waiting to be put on my car when it hit me. It doesn't have the thread for the PCV at the top of the valve cover. Is it possible to tap the valve...
No I don't mean a bushing for that. I mean the 2 bushings that are not on the tranny side. The 2 bushings under the center console. I reread and I see the confusion. But yea I mean the ones right next to the shifter on the shifter cables.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone sell aluminum or not rubber bearings for that end? Like I said I replaced all of the other ones with aluminum so a solid bushing would be preferred.
