Nothing yet. It's pretty cold outside and the dsm lives in a non heated garage. I havent forgotten about you guys. I'm just looking for that one day with 50 degree temps
What up, tuners! Over the past month or 2 ago , flatout suspension was introduced to this forum. I personally have never ever heard of this particular company and my natural reaction would be to proceed with caution. After about 5 ish weeks of placing my order, they arrived at my door and these...
I'm located in Passaic County NJ as well. Like you I almost never see any dsms on the road. She becomes more of a garage queen in the winter but I drive her the other 8 months.
I run an hy35 with a turbonetics T3 cast mani at 28 psi on 93 pump. I dynoed 408whp on a mustang dyno. Just to put it in perspective, my hy has a 54mm comp wheel, while the hx40 I believe has a 60mm wheel. So your power level would be attainable with reasonable boost levels on pump. Both turbos...
I already have a front mount on my car, but I definetly would prefer to have a side mount. Does anyone know how much power a bigger sidemount would be efficient for? Currently pushing 400whp with no intentions to go higher.
Those hubs are made by exedy, it's stamped on the face somewhere. On flip side, I've ran my southbend clutch for 20k miles of pretty aggressive driving and then it started to slip. I sent it back to southbend, they relined my old clutch with a new material and send it back to me. Another 2k...
So I stumbled upon this piston/rod combohttps://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/152776634526I know the scat Rods are decent but I have no idea npr made full floating pistons. Anybody have feedback on the pistons? I'm currently at 400awhp and will be staying there...
Just an FYI, this post will be little long
Alright so I'm battling a CEL with my 2g and it all started about a week ago. Last week I went out for a quick spin and did a 2,3,4 gear pull on the car. All was fine, I then drove the car home and parked it. About 10 minutes later I go out to my car to...
I'm trying to either go for feal coilovers or go the koni ground control sleeves route. However before I do anything I'm trying to find the proper spherical tops I need for the fronts on my 2g. Feals bring em standard so I'm not so concerned about that, more so with the potential koni setup...
Just as a reminder, off the shelf feals are not customizable anymore. You will need to go with the 441+ kit for custom springs rates. 441+ includes the swift springs. The regular kit does not
So I ended up calling feal and they said they made the change around June of 2018. They said for a daily driver, the "feal" springs shouldn't be any different versus the swift springs. Its when your heavily tracking the car is when you want the swift springs. I feel the swift springs less coils...
Ive been eye balling some feal 441s for quite some time now. I went on to their website before and couldn't help but notice something. The 441 kit is now standard with some white "feal" springs, while the swift springs are now part of the 441+ kit that costs 200$ more. Back then the swift...
Ive had my clutch on my car for almost 3 years, so this will be more of a long term review than most of the short term reviews in this thread.*Specific model used
---Pressure plate type:
-->SS- 2200---Disk type:
-->TZ/B-Series Kevlar / Ceramic dual friction*Specific model flywheel used...
Alright guys, the new power steering bottle is in and bled. After i finished, i went for a little drive. Cold start was fine and warm cruising was great until i decided to hit some boost. After i went into some boost, the car bucked, it didnt like it at all. I turn right on a side street and the...
Some bad luck lol. In my attempt to locate the power steering leak, the lower nipple on the reservoir snapped. I ordered a new bottle so it should be arriving soon. After that's done, I'll post a log for everyone to see.
Im definetly going to look into that as well. My apologies for not listening. After I fix this leaking power steering line I'll try to get a log on dsmlink and post it on here. Thanks everyone so far!
Coolant temp sensor was reading fine in my car when it runs. It could still be faulty. I'll run the scanner through the car to see if I get anything. When I hooked up ecmlink fuel pressure seemed fine. I have fuel pressure hooked up to record in dsmlink so I can see what's happening. Mdp sensor...
Hey all, heres the scoop, post might be a little long so I apologize for that now. Last Friday, not yesterday, I drove my car to the store. It ran completely fine. I was in the store for a little while, long enough for the car to cool down. I then drove to a restaurant that was a short distance...
So I know Koni yellows are the go to strut for our cars. I also know to stay away from kyb agx and tokicos. I got some really old tokico whites on my car, which are still fine but are atleast 10 years old. I came across these Koni str.t and wonder if anyone has any input on them? I can get a set...
Search for Justmx141 on this website. Justin rebuild turbos and he might have something in stock for you at a much more reasonable price. He can also recommend you something for your goals that you have for your car as well.
FYI, I've been running a a rebuilt 20g from Justin for almost 2 years...
Check out aem's x line wideband kit. Supposedly much faster read times. I'm not convincing you to go that route, just want to make you aware of all the options out there. Cheers and good luck!
I recently installed an mtx-l back in December and my sensor failed in February. Since mine failed within 2 months (which is unacceptable), reading horror stories about others, and sensors costing 60$ each, I decided to go back with my trusty aem wideband. I've run an aem in multiple cars that I...
Selling my 3 inch gm maf that came off my car. Maf is in great shape and performed on my car flawlessly until it was removed. It will come with the ecmlink plug and play harness for a 2g. I'm asking 50$ shipped, text me if you want pictures.

First let me apologize if this thread is in the wrong spot. Not sure if to put it here or in another section of the forum. So there is something strange going on with my car and i want you guys to take a look at this log if you can. Recently the car has been acting strange when it was building...
Quick update. I reinstalled the previous radio and took the infinity deck and amp out. Speakers sound much better but tweeters don't work. I'm going to hardwire them with some bass blockers and call it a day
Hey all, here's a quick rundown on the situation. Car is a 97 gsx that I bought from someone over 2 years ago. The sound system on this car has always been pretty sucky. All the speakers worked but I thought the gsx's came with the infinity sound from the get go. So I look under my passenger...
Update to the problem. So ever since, the car drove fine until this morning when I was cruising on the same highway . The car again sputtered and had no power and It of course died again. However this time I managed to keep it idling for a little while. The car started smoking and when I look...
Hey guys so I'm in a little bit of a debate with myself here. I recently sold my daily driver, which was a 2015 wrx. That has forced me to daily drive my dsm. I don't really mind it but it has made me realized that my braking is terrible in comparison. Even though my wrx had 2 piston rotors with...
So yesterday in the dsm, I'm cruising down the highway and I feel a little thump. The thump then proceeded with the engine nearly stalling while going 60 mph, no biggie I pull over and turn off the car. I check for any holes in the block, we are good. So I try to turn the car on again and it...
It's a little more difficult to find a split thrust bearing motor. However I have one sitting in my garage that I purchased from DACOWGOD. He actually has a long block in good shape as we speak. I personally refuse to ever go 6 bolt so I will be sticking with the 7 bolt motor.
Anyone else have input on these pumps? Acl oil pump is priced at 150$ vs 362$ for a new oem 7 bolt pump. People say they have had no issues at various power levels and high rpm revving. Future motor will be holding at least 400whp to the wheels so I don't want to make the wrong choice.
Try these Facebook pages : DSM classifieds (20k members) 1g dsm parts trader, eat sleep dsm (9k members), strictly modified dsm and evo used parts (30k members). I'm sure you will find something. I have found many of my parts over FB. Goodluck!
So best bet would be to buy a wheel and mock fit with a brembo caliper? Is there any distance that's not ideal? For example is anything less than 1mm to little? Great to see some brembos on the stock 2g knuckle.
Before we get started here I don't want anyone to bash in these wheels. I know what I'm purchasing and I'm fully aware of that. Now here goes. In the near future I plan on running evo 8/9 brembo. I don't want to run the usual evo 8/9 enkei or bbs. I tried looking at an evo forum but they run a...
16g came on my car when I bought it. Reasonably it's the cheapest and most effective way to gain power (in terms of turbo) from the t25. I have since upgraded to a tdo5h 20g and haven't looked back.
Mine broke at some point as well. Bought an oem one and painted it for about 60$. What I do now is just use the lever to pop open the door, then I just grab the door to put less stress on the handle assembly. Small hands will work wonders when doing this job. Regardless, your hands will get cut up
Did you measure the step height in the flywheel before installation? Southbend clutches tend to have a slightly fatter disc material making the clutch drag. Did you do a clutch drag test?
Actually shimming is just a band aid fix to a worn out pivot ball and or clutch fork. However, that looks normal to me. When you apply pressure to the left, the fork looks to be centered in the window, which is good. That "free play" will be taken up with the slave cylinder, so no need to...
I would take the vacuum line running from the MBC to the boost sourc(J pipe maybe) and connect it directly to the wga. This will tell you if the wga is bad or the MBC is bad. Also check for leaks as previously noted
The life expentency of any turbo will come down to a few factors:#1: how you drive the car. If you beat the piss out if it, no turbo is going to last.#2: type of oil used. Fp has an oil recommendation guide that should be religiously followed. Using any other oil can lead to premature wear...
It definitely is cheaper. I paid 650$ for my flywheel clutch combo. As far as my understand goes, there has been 2 different versionsof the 68hta.Version one is essentially a 20 compressor wheel stuffed into a 16g (rated for 47 lbs per min) and was built using an existing Mitsubishi 16g...
Twin disc Is overkill I feel for your power level. Grab yourself a southbend ssx b series clutch will handle that no problem. I know someone who makes 433 whp/382 wtq on said clutch. Pretty light pedal as well. If you want to talk turbos talk to Justin (aka jusmx141) on here.
