Pins 6 and 14 have to be swapped in the harness, and the power transistor has to be changed also.. If your car is a turbo car, then the non turbo ecu doesn't have a knock board in it.. The car will run on it, but it's not smart because knock on a forced induction car can be catastrophic..
You can use a non turbo EPROM ecu and when you send it to link they will add the knock board.. When I contacted them about this, it was cheaper to do it that way than to have had a non EPROM board socketed
Not trying to resurrect an old thread, but there was never an answer to the flow bench test on head comparison.z I'm cuerious to how the flow bench results came out.. Did anyone ever get the results?
Too bad you guys don't live in Kentucky.. We don't have any emissions tests or inspections here.. I know someone with their exhaust ran out their front bumper and they got their car tagged...lol... Good luck guys!!!
Have you tried finding and pulling the fuse to the alarm? If horn lights ect ect ect is on the same fuse, try removing the relay.. I'm not much on a 2g but that would be the steps I would take..
There's a lot to think about, but the most important this is matenence.. You just can jump in and run high boost on stock internals.. What are your goals?
When you say 2g are you talking about the 95+ 7bolt, or the 92 1/2-94 7 bolt? More info will be needed, is the car that its going in already a turbo car? The more we know the more we can tell you..
I don't know about a 2g, but on my fwd 1g I have pulled both engine and trans at the same time.. It wasn't hard at all to do it that way, it slid in and out with no clearance issues.. I changed my trans once without pulling the engine and it made it harder..
Are you talking about the trans cooler, or an oil cooler? On a 90 model it was oil to air, with no coolant lines.. As for the trans cooler I wouldn't know..
You definitely want to change the timing belt and maybe look into removing the balance shafts.. Removing the balance shafts is like a cheap insurance policy, you would be eliminating a weak point..
Aside from the obvous engine and transmission. You're going to need the tcu and wiring harness, shifter, shifter cables, shifter linkage you might need the axels, that I'm not sure of. You'll need the trans cooler if its running one. Oh, and there's a cable that runs to the break pedal that only...
I don't know if your issue was resolved, but I have a tcu that was purchased from the dealer and was in my car for around 6months before I did a engine and trans swap.. It wasn't in the list of tcu part numbers, but its part number MD737019 and it came out of a 1991 na eagle talon and its the...
