Don't buy aftermarket body parts unless they're oem replacement. There is a reason you see very few dsms with body kits on them. For one the factory body kit is perfect. And two fiberglass parts are junk . They require a lot of time to make fit and then alot if time to make them paint worthy ...
Just do the 90th between maple and fort sonic good central location too. Will anyone even show up? I'm out all the time and hardly ever see any DSM's. I'm Austin Puckett btw if you don't know who I am look me up on Facebook and follow my build should be done with the next few weeks
I'm thinking about doing this also. I am running a tru boost controller and I'm also running speed density. So your saying that I can use the 5 bar map sensor to my ecu and tap the signal wire to ecu with the input wire to the gauge and not cause any issues? Saving me from spending another...
A cheap quick fix o suggest is that you use a line flaring tool and flare both metal ends and then connect the two using the appropriate size heater hose and clamps
If you have anything using the pea for a vacuum source the rtv will cause problems because it will likely find itself clogging the ports once you tighten down the bolts
I personally get the timing belt pretty damn tight by prying up carefully on the hydraulic tensioner body and using the correct tool to rotate the idler pulley to remove all slack in the belt. So the plunger should barely move when the pin is pulled leaving room for belt stretching
^^^^^ What he said . I would also recommend using marine grade heat shrink tubing to insulate your soldered wires instead of electrical tape way better and cleaner
First off as far as recommendations for your build I would highly suggest manley turbo tuff rods and crank. Unless your a straight baller then do some grp aluminum rods and a winberg crank. For some super high-quality high rpm revs. On another note with link run it on speed density and...
With all the stuff I have broken over the years I have personally never experienced this one. I would say that it's highly highly unlikely that's a broken cv axle would be the cause for no reverse. Did it make any usual noises while attempting to use reverse . Or nothing at all?
You said that the car is a 2g but your asking about a 1g belt? I take it that your 6 bolt swapped that's why your asking. But when you 6 bolt swap a 2g you run the 2g pulleys because 1g's use a v belt on the power steering instead of the ribbed style on the 2g s . So if that answers your...
Have you performed a boost leak test? Compression test? Leak down test? Try all of these and see if you discover anything. Also you might have jumped time check that out also.
I got your pm. Trace the single 14 gauge signal wire coming off the starter it's black in color. Follow it back through the harness and you will find the junction harness. Its hard to give you an exact location of the plug because it sits in the middle of the harness next to the head above the...
Honestly if you're familiar with wiring , I recommend just hard wiring in the gm maf pigtail to your factory harness . And if your really concerned about being able to reverse this modification then just loom the wires in the harness and leave enough wire off the 2g maf connector so your able to...
You might have accidentally unplugged the starter signal wire at its junction in the harness or off the connector on the solenoid. Check this first before you start to get into more complicated scenarios

Flyineagletsi thanks for your support. I believe I have found the setup that will work effectively with no issues. I have noticed that on the current setup that the rotor is offset to the caliper centerline by maybe an 1/8 of an inch. This is the last issue I'm running into for perfecting this...
Update guys . I've done some more research and figured I would try the 05 06 mitsubushi outlander front rotors . I went and got one from the parts store and test fitted it on the car and come to find out they fit perfectly. They allow full contact between the pads and rotor and clear the...
Dsmspick idk the exact details of these calipers I just know it's an upgrade to my stock gsx breaks and it didn't cost me hardly anything. I can get some more detailed pictures tomorrow.
Yes o elongated one of the holes on my spindle . And it's perfectly safe. The other hole remains the same and there is no play up and down or side to side because the hole that is elongated is to narrow the space between the bolts, it cannot and will not move and then tightened down securely...
Miliman13 what I meant by accident was my buddy had these calipers laying around his garage, and I borrowed them to see if I could make a bracket to use these on my 2g. When I took my oem caliper and bracket off I lined the two mounting surfaces up and noticed that the brembos were only off by...
Did some research and the cobalt rotors are 290mm (11.6") so it looks like I could use those as long as they're not too different from the dsm hub. I'll try a set from the parts store and see what happens.
Hmm? Idk if I'm going to be able to fit the evo rotors on there but I do have a guy that could machine down the diameter of the rotor to make it fit . I'll keep you posted on the outcome
I definitely will. Does anyone know the diameter of the evo rotors and 2g rotors? Because I have another 5/8 of an inch clearance between the calipers and rotors which will allow me another inch diameter of rotor
Evileagleawd thank you for your advice. I didn't know that I just figured to point them downward to keep from getting fluid on the finish. But now thinking mechanically that makes perfect sense because all the air would sit at the top......duh! Lol thanks

So yeah guys thought I would share this with you. Cobalt ss turbo brembo monoblock calipers 30 minute upgrade. All you need is the calipers bolts and a die grinder with a small diameter metal bit. These calipers almost bolt directly on the 2g front spindles . You need to awl out one of the...
Late 97-99 7 bolt long block. Manley stroker kit with knifed and balanced crank. Turbo tuff rods, and custom 10:1 pistons. Balance shaft delete. Custom crank ventilation in block. Arp custom age head studs. All other arp hardware. Ported and polished head. Gasket matched to 6 bolt on intake...
Hi guys I've been a member for a while now and been into DSM's for quite some time. I'm still a probationary member due to the fact that I don't spend a lot of time on here , mainly for research and viewing the classifieds for my build. Originally my car was intended to be a sleeper hints my...
if your not getting spark after replacing all those ignition components you probably have a bad crank sensor. try replacing that its located on the back of the block. there is one bolt that holds it in place and you got to pull and twist for it to slide out. ive run into this problem before. if...
check your tps make sure its putting out the correct voltage. also make sure you have good gaskets and a good tight seal on the throttle body and intake manifold. also check the seal on the injector grommets to the cylinder head.:thumb:
iac is what helps a factory car maintain a smooth idle. if there is a error in this system it will throw off your afr at idle which in turn would effect fuel economy . directly city mileage due to the fact that the iac isnt used during cruise conditions (highway driving). if you have replaced...
Hi everyone. Like the title says im a new member but ive been a dsmer for quite some time now. going on 4 years actually. i just wanted to introduce myself and i plan on starting a build thread shortly. My newest DSM is a 95 gsx. i bought it super cheap from a guy who didnt know what it was 2800...
