You probably already did this, but make sure power steering fluid correct.

If all drives ok after your rebuild, I would check something easy and maybe a coincidence unrelated to suspension. Check you power steering fluid level.

Did you check your master cylinder. I recently upgraded my clutch to comp 3 and the clutch would work for a short time then suddenly not have enough pressure to get into gear. Once I replaced the master cylinder all was good.
