When you have 3 kids you'd like to take to the park to ride their bikes, but no easy way to get their bikes there, and need a truck for other reasons (like home improvement reasons) you start evaluating things and putting them into perspective. Especially once you become a believer in God's word...
It sold the day before I posted this. It's now on yhe southern end of the state. (GA)It's new owner already had a DSM that was more drag car than street. He bought mine for a street car. Apparently plans to keep it mostly as is far as stock cams, balance shafts in place and MHI EVO III 16g.
35 now.little tribute thread with pic's from bone stock when I got it with 75,000 miles to when I sold it with 127,000 miles on it. It was fun, but wife, three kids and a father in law, and a house that needs a lot of work, demand a truck. and the car was just sitting in my shop most of last...
Mahle pistons, they use a different alloy. The pistons don't expand as much so you can run tighter piston to wall clearances which is better for a street car, but they're still a forged piston that's stronger than the OEM's and lighter weight than most all the other forgings that use the other...
Thanks for that.About half of the bushings have been replaced with poly, but yeah that does leave half (mostly the rear) with the original ones... which probably is at a minimum contributing to that. Also you say it's easy to go to SD and EBC... and it may be for someone who knows what...
No I have short route aluminum piping, 2.5" I.D. if memory serves me correct. I put some heat reflective tape around the J pipe where it's near the exhaust. The FMIC is a pretty large bar and plate core but still allows me to get the fog lights. It's the VRSF kit. 3.5" thick core that's 24x8" So...
Yes well 1G's don't have as many inputs available, and I'm hesitant to mess with the car at this point as getting it tuned as well as it is now was a PITA... plus there's other priorities right now with house repair and kids so spending on the toy isn't really in the budget. So I have to make do...
If I ever switch to speed density I absolutely will do that. But being on a 1G it's a bit more of a PITA, I have to switch to simulating the narrow band though my EGT temp input that's logging my WB02 sensor, which I have to relocate from the down pipe to the O2 housing. And then I guess wire in...
I'm going to try to get some dryer ducting and see if I can do just that. But also start looking at gathering some 24ga galvanized sheet metal (or aluminum) from work for making ducting. as I kind of want to build a duct from the radiator out the hood..... But yes also something for the intake.
Lifting the rear of the hood and or doing anything the removes that seal at the rear of the hood hurts cooling. That area is a high pressure area at speed, so it increases under hood air pressure, which makes it harder for air to flow through the FMIC/Radiator/ anything else. I had to make an...
Well, when you're at 15* ignition timing on pump 93 @ 22psi it seems to be the difference in .7* ignition retard and 15*. So I'm trying to get it down to ambient. It's that or back down the ignition timing to 14*Also when I can just raise the pop ups and watch IAT instantly start to drop from...
Anyone know of a hood vent that wouldn't look horrible on a 1Ga???You used to be able to find extractor vents that looked a bit like a long 3-4" wide vent with a raised lip at the front or sort of like a rearward facing scoop but designed for extraction. Can't seem to find anything like that...
Like the title asks, it would seem a lot of the old vendors from a decade ago aren't doing half of what they used to for the DSM platform (I get it) but is there any that are still doing assembled short blocks and head packages that are worth trusting your hard earned money too?
I made this a while back, haven't tried installing it yet. So it has 3 chambers, and the top two are filled with stainless steel wool, then with a divider down the middle to separate the inlet and outlets, with a chamber at the bottom for the oil/waste to collect.Mostly I need to figure...
I as well, at the time the sport comp matched up with my AEM UEGO wide band pretty well.Giving some consideration to an electronic / digital AEM unit since it's "only" $165... and a mechanical Autometer sport comp II is basically $100...Mechanical gauges sure went up in price....I remember...
So my old electronic autometer sport comp 30-0-30 boost gauge committed suicide, wiring and MAP are still good but the gauge is apparently dead as the MAP is transmitting a signal and it's reaching the plug to the gauge.Going to try to log the MAP through the factory narrow band 02 sensor and...
Well, finally had the time to really check everything, sensor is getting power, and so is the gauge. Sensor is giving a signal of 1.51v at atmospheric pressure. And the signal is getting to the back side of the connector. So I guess the gauge just up and died for no apparent reason. The peak and...
Depends, is the real unit just a cheapo unit or has it been tweaked / customized to the vendors specs. If it is the MAP sensor that's faulty, I know what the normal vacuum looks like and peak boost numbers etc. So actually, kind of...yeah.
DMM? Digital multi-meter?Thanks, it's been so long I have to dig out the instructions and figure out which wire is which. I'll just start the engine and look for a signal from the manifold vacuum. Oh and yes it's plastic.
So apparently Autometer thinks their 3 bar MAP sensor is worth $100... it looks pretty generic. My gauge just randomly stopped working and I haven't found a fault with the gauges wiring. I don't know of a way to check the sensor... but it looks like there's replacements for $27 from advance...
The mention of the possibility id a hybrid system is concerning...I like light weight vehicles. Hybrid systems add complexity, cost and weight. I don't like that.
Fine, but I'd encourage anyone who thinks I'm mistaken to look into the findings of the top Christian and Muslim scholars. To be clear though, I'm not saying they're ignorant because of the religion they practice, I'm saying they're ignorant of what they're own religious text states.I won't...
They have bought into a lot of lies, if you believed what they do, and were brought up in a Muslim family, can you say you wouldn't?The good thing is most believe what they do out of ignorance, they have been lied to massively, start showing them what's in their own source material and many of...
Ugh, why in the would would you bring race into it? There's Muslims of all skin colors. Maybe thou dust protests to much? Race literally has next to nothing to do with a religion. This is the Hangout right? I was just mentioning what had taken place.
Well, if they don't allow criticism then I kind of agree. But those seeking truth I'd say can hold such discussions. I find it normally the ignorant and arrogant are the most unwilling to look or consider a different perspective. Which is an enigma onto itself, is man perfect? Nope, so why are...
I think I'll start it up and let it warm up...haven't done that in about a month. I hardly drive it right now. Only thing wrong is the boost gauge quit working for some reason (electric). But no reason to put miles on it going to work and back when I have a v6 Camry for that...with cold A/C.
What got me banned for 420hrs though was a reposting of a controversial YT apologetics video. David wood, Sam Shamoun (i think that's spelled right) and a few other brothers in Christ do a bit of a unconventional engagement method. See, typically in eastern countries especially, Muslims don't...
There take on it seems to be keep it internal, in the sense no cross criticism from one religious group to another, which is ridiculous imo. Are we after truth or blind indoctrination you know?
Ar15.com doesn't like it when you point out historic facts about Islam, from their own material...so i'm on a 420hr suspension.Sooo anyway, still got the Talon, but money' been tight so I haven't done anything with it, mostly it sits, but I think things may change soon. If they do I may start...
