Facebook's negative impact on car culture and tech info

I couldn't agree with this any more. I left almost all the car groups on Facebook because of the disrespect and lack of knowledge. I asked a simple tuning question in a group that I was part of for like 4 years, and I got ripped apart. It was actually bad enough, I've lost a lot of motivation...

    2G W4A33 Auto Transmission Fluid

Amsoil everything in my vehicles. I use Amsoil Signature Series ATF in the truck trans (4L60E, very few mods), and my F4A33. Alto Red Eagle Kit, shift kit, etc. Both run great.

General Evo 8 ECU in auto 2g

But the stock TCU reads off the ECU. So if it doesn’t have all of the reguraly fed data to it, it’s gonna get weird, or upset and not shift properly.

General Evo 8 ECU in auto 2g

I have the 3g ECU with Tephra v7 in mine. It shifts some of the time from what I noticed. Then I think it stops shifting and goes into limp mode. From what I did notice any ways. Not 100% sure. I haven’t driven in her while.

2G Part/PNC Number Diagrams For Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder 1997

This should have something you can use. I recently got ASA from it. So much easier than trying to go through the 3si page for it. It gives you the instructions as you go. Also, has lots of great links and manuals to pick from.http://mitsubishilinks.com/

General Cleaning Wideband Sensor for Recalibration?

I've tried cleaning a factory 02 sensor using seafoam. From what I've read, it's suppose to be easier on the sensitive parts of the sensor. Don't know if there was an improvement or not.

    Where to buy a VSS

I'd email and ask first before ordering just to make sure, but JNZ shows both of them for sale. Go under their oem parts page and search for it. Pretty sure the oem part of their website doesn't come up in google. And I'd link it, but I don't remember if I can link to other websites.

2G Eclipse Spyder Speakers - Sony Replacements That Fit Easily

I have 6x9 kickers in mine. Had to kind of massage them in there. Nothing crazy, just didn't understand why a 6x9 speaker wouldn't fit in a 6x9 hole. Lol

Why did you choose a DSM?

Really, I fell in love with evo's first.I remember that night too. We were sitting at Jack in the Box, in a booth next to the drive thru. Dude rolled up, clean evo (I actually didn't know it was an evo then). I think I know what he probably said, " watch this kids reaction." So he revved...

    2G Diagnosing the diagnostic port

I actually had an issue with obd2 devices staying physically connected. I popped out the ob2 port (just clipped into the bracket), and wrapped a couple layers of electrical tape around it. Trimmed up what ever was in the way of the pins. And everything is staying comnected. Use to be i...

    thoughts on buying used parts.

I have no isssue buying used parts. My brake upgrades, was all used parts. And ive pulled plenty of used parts from pick a part yards over the years. Its not bad to do it that way at all. Especially when the parts you're getting are all in decent shape.

Choosing a Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool

I've had a cheaper one that would make the gauges go crazy. Bought this, and haven't looked back. It works. I've had zero issues with this on my spyder or the truck. Though, this one looks different from the one I had. Probably an updated one.

2G Engine bay is getting too hot

I have issues here in vegas. I took out the weather stripping in front of the windshield, and raise the back of the hood up by adding washers underneath the hood hinges. It's been working great for me. Heat wrap would help.

    Las Vegas

Like he said. There's a few of us. Buddy of mine is in henderson with a couple of 2g's. We all run into each other every once in a while on the streets. Easy way to connect is to get on the facebook.

    General OBDII Logging Apps (Android)

There's a couple of them. All gotta pay for them. None of them worked for me anymore. On any device. I believe it was an update with Torque, but never got around to actually digging for an answer. I know Torque is planning to actually be able to see all the Mut stuff from just the app...

    General OBDII Logging Apps (Android)

I had issues with torque the last year or so. When I got it, it would log Mut-II stuff perfectly. Everything too. But someone updated something that, and it all stopped working. Couldn't get it to read any Mut-II. Would read whatever came over the odb2 just fine. Frustrated, I moved up to a...

    ECMlink ECM Link vs EVOScan/ECUFlash

If you want easy, almost every one will say get ecmlink. I, myself have never used ecmlink. Plenty of friends have shown me, and I've seen enough videos to know, its way easier than ecuflash.I'm currently using ecuflash with ceddymods and all that. It's fine for me, and I really enjoy it...

Spyder 1999 Spyder GS 4g64 idle problem

For the IAC, your kinda stuck. I have a Spyder GS too. Your best bet, if you suspect the IAC, test and it make sure it is bad, then see if Miller Import Parts can get you one. I think I got the whole throttle body from them for $55. TPS and IAC included. Need a good cleaning though.The...

Which TPS do I need, S90 Throttle Body EVO 4-6

Spyder GS has a completely different tps from other 2G's. Ask me how I know. I broke my old one. The only other cars it was on was mirages and montero's. Most of the difference is size. The 2g turbo tps is way bigger than a spyder gs. I imagine is the same for the evo's as well. Since...

    tuning question

Yes. Wait till you can tune. Although handy to for troubleshooting, ELM327, and basic logging, there isn't too much you can do with aside from pull codes and clean them. Aside from that, you would be better off with Link or some other tuning ability.

    power door lock problem

Sounds like an issue I had with my locks. I don't know the name of it, but there is a plastic clip over the lock cylinder, check that it is still there. It senses the when the key is entered and turned to lock or unlock the door. If it's not sitting right, or broken off (it's thin plastic)...

    how to empty the freon?

It's against Federal law (in the US) to let that be release into the air. And buy the time you buy all the tools to do that, you could have had a shop do it. I think Firestone (again, in the US) charges around $130 for a flush and refill with dye to find leaks. If you do do it yourself...

I'm 5'11" and 300lbs (it fits). I fit nicely. But, my door panels are out. Gives me extra room. Plenty of it. We had a guy in our group that was like 6'4" and skinny that fit in his GST quite comfortably.

    ebay exhaust systems?

I love my SR-S I got off of ebay. Not that bad of an exhaust. The resonator is a bit big, I've bottomed out on it on stock suspension. It sounds good too. It was a good price too. No issues yet, and I'm on 8 months with it. Pretty sure Benjyc32 can vouch for the sound. Haha.

    Compression arm replacement time?

Probably. I have the same issue for my lower control arm. The outer bushing is totally gone. So I get knocks/pops over bumps and while turning. It's also throwing everything else out of alignment, so my brakes squeal under certain pressure. Can't wait for my tax return to come in.
