I got this and never used it due to me going with the 2g tstat housing on my 6/7 bolt combo. It was dented I was previously told for using a HX35. I didn't use it but it looks to be in good shape with minimal rust.100 shipped to the lower 48.
I have a 1g Koyo with an fittings welded. Used in my 6/7 bolt combo with no leaks.I will removed the fan in the picture this is just for the radiator.250 shipped to the lower 48
Cleaning up a head for assembly and just wanted to get some opinions on if people are installing their valve stem seals with oil, dry, or a special tool?
I have a MR2 power steering set up that was on a 1999 gsx. It has welded bungs on the stock power steering reservoir. It as the high pressure lines that were built and ran through the frame rail. The pump was mounted where the ABS was located (ABS was removed from this car). One end that was...
I had to port mine. 90+ psi at 2.5k rpms. If your highest pressure is less than 85 you could try swapping the spring. If its more than that I would make a larger port.
Just wanted to post some of the many pictures I have from the build. Breaking in the motor now and have been driving so tested all of my wiring and working out most of those issues. I am in the process of tearing down some things to add the 3" stainless exhaust and external waste gate. The...
I am having the same issue but I have it appears oil pouring out of the seal behind the sprocket. I am tearing mine down this weekend to fix. I just rebuilt the motor and put on a used sprocket and didn't check for wear. I did have all new seals and gears for the pump and font case.
I am about two weeks away from start up. I have a lot of photos of the progress I will update to the thread. Going to take some time getting them all together.
Update on progress that has slowed a bit.Front suspension is in after deciding to depower the power steering rack instead of hunting down a 1.8 manual rack. I took apart the entire rack and removed the ring on the shaft. While I was in there I sanded and polished the parts to reduce any...
Just going to update with some progress photos.Lost of cleaning/striping, priming, and painting for all the parts going back on the car. Assembly has started but working through how items are going to be ran (brake lines and fuel).Installed the wheel bearings, ES bushings in, ball...
Came to my house on a tow truck 9 months ago. I have since stripped it down and just got the engine bay finished and painted. The plans for the engine bay are:Fuse box and battery relocation, wire tuck starting by moving the harness to come from the middle if the firewall, welded all...
A lot depends on your budget and power goals. I would figure those out while getting into the engine and seeing how bad it is. Once you know what you want to do you can start a parts list and figure out what ya need.
I think with 5 k you should be well on your way. I just got a local guy to quote me a build for 3k with eagle rods, and cp pistons. I ended up finding a guy parting out a built motor which helped me reduce cost quite a bit.
building a 6 bolt myself and when I started I went the rout thinking I was going to do the 90 big rods I have two sets. But when I factored in the cost to get the 2g or evo pistons machining and rod bolts I just figured to go with after market.
Thats an idea that I have not thought of. I may look at that just depends on if im going to go for a super smooth look in the bay. I won't know for sure till I get everything out and bare.
Hi everyone. Just got my motor out, wires and cleaning up my engine bay to paint. I plan to relocate the battery, fuse box, and do a wire tuck. Just wanted to get some other 1g owners opinions on what holes etc in the engine bay are unnecessary to keep. I was thinking about welding up...
Hey everyone. I have a head I am considering using for my engine build. The issue I am having is its going to cost me 500+ to get it rebuilt back to stock. The valve guides are all cracked. Just wanted to see what do people think would it be worth just finding another 1g head?
I like the idea of smooth lines on the car so my thought was to get rid of the wiper and antenna. I was thinking about fiberglass on the inside and bondo to fill the holes.
Should not have a problem but if that clutch is going to last I would keep that person away from the car or hills. I know a friend his step dad used to do that and now he has the car as a beater and the clutch is shot.
Check for boost leaks but if you are wanting to really solve the problem go dsmlink v3 or standalone. I am going with V3 and my friends that use it are getting some great results. I am building a 1g now and will not even consider running the car without V3 light or full. Just my thoughts.
Thanks guys. Not sure how many miles were on the motor I am getting the block and other parts from different motors. As far as the build I will be having someone helping me out that will look at the old components. I just wanted to get an idea where even if the parts look to be ok and within...
Doing a rebuild on a 6 bolt motor. Just wanted to see what peoples thoughts were on what to re-use on the old motor. I am trying to determine what timing components can be re used and which ones should be just thrown out even if they look to be ok.
