Thanks! Just got the end of the tie rod taken off and have the parts on order. It looks like the ball joint seized and caused the rod to snap when I turned the wheel.
You should be able to swap all the interior panels and seats into your RS. The only exception may be the stock speakers from the GST.As far as turbo parts go.. You could use them in the future if you plan to turbo your 420a. If you have a place to store them I would definitely keep them.
The stock headlights are 9006 and 9005. With the fog lights being size H3.You are definitely going to want to upgrade the headlights to a projector headlight to avoid blinding oncoming drivers. You can find HID kits from our supporting vendor, SharpHID: http://www.sharphid.com/.Whatever...
Same thing happened to me.The car would take forever to crank and it would horrifically sputter at random intervals on the highway. I got a camshaft position sensor (NOT to be confused with a crankshaft angle/position sensor) from my local parts store for $40.After a 5-minute install...
I would stick with conventional 5w-30. How long did you run the car on 10w-30?
As stated above, synthetic does open up more opportunities for oil leaks. It wouldn't hurt to flush the radiator and re-fill with a 50/50 coolant mix. A 50/50 mix should be good down to around -37F.Does the engine...
Ball joint snapped Friday night, busting the driver CV axle. Got the new suspension in Saturday (control arms, ball joints, CV axle), added some transmission fluid, and drove to work Sunday morning.Next up is to replace the passenger side suspension and get the new dent out of the driverside...
I say if you can find a GSX, jump on it. Stick isn't that hard:cool:As far as the transmission goes, you will probably be better off buying a used one and swapping it in.
Those are the chromium 527s? My DSM is that same silver and I've been looking into getting these wheels. The price isn't even that bad on them! Also, what kind of camera are you using?
The .028 gap is for the 4g63. A proper 420a gap should be more like .050 or .048.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/420a-bolt-tech/351739-proper-420a-spark-plug-gap.htmlYour next step should be to head to AutoZone and let them check the code for you.
Got for LEDs off amazon for about $3.
Bad picture, but I also changed the headlights to whighter bulbs. Then plasti-dipped my aging drip-moldings.Took maybe an hour and the result was excellent.
I haven't got a chance to view the video yet, but have you tried replacing the respective relays and fuses? Also, check the connectors to make sure they are clean then check them with a multimeter.
Thanks, man. Those anti-rattle clips are in place, but I'll double check to make sure they're not running against the rotor.I'm really betting on the piston or caliper getting stuck. I'll inspect and test it par your instructions and regrease the caliper pins.
For a while now my brakes have made a chirping or squeaking noise. I believe it is the front driver's side making the noise.I have replaced pads all around: Wagner TQ in the front and Duralast in the rear. Yesterday I got the front rotors turned, but it still sounds like the chirping coming...
This is very good advice. When I search I through Google I like to add "2g DSM" to the search words so it searches sites like dsmtuners and dsmtalk for posts pertaining to second generation DSMs.Back the the window rattle, from that article it seems you just have to bend the pieces with a...
He's just looking for the plastic cover for the reverse lights, not the entire housing.I'm also in search of a pair and I can't seem to find a new pair anywhere.
You can use the Torque application to check and clear codes as well as do some other logging and whatnot, but it requires a Bluetooth ODB2 adapter and the app can only be used with OBD2.
The Helix brand smoked lights are $30 on eBay.It would probably cost about the same to buy and smoke some clears.http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=190808516005&index=4&nav=SEARCH&nid=53464669939
Thankfully, you don't need DSMLink to check codes.Just go to any auto parts chain and they will check the code for you for free. You can also fine code readers on Amazon and eBay for cheap.
In the Fall I'm going to be going for either Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or both.I always wanted to be an Aerospace Engineer though.
I take two tool sets with me :pThey include two ratchet sets (metric and standard), every size wrench, extender, spark plug sockets, screwdrivers both long and short, pliers and vice grips, spark plug gap tool, and jumper wires. All I need is a portable jack and a lug wrench to complete the...
If I'm correct, synthetic oil is a lot thinner. While this is what makes it better than conventional oil, it also makes it more susceptible to leaks.Instead of swapping to conventional, go ahead and fix the leak. Also, there are some additives like Lucas that can either make the oil much...
Definitely replace or check plugs and wires, check plug gap.Test the coil pack. A fuel injector cleaner/gas water remover might help. Also, change the fuel filter.I think that sums up the (cheapest) things that could be causing the code.
My Megan racing has worked well so far, I don't see any issues with it.While you're replacing the shifter, go ahead and replace the shifter bushings too.
