I never realized I was missing a horn on my bov. I always assumed it was threaded for a hose to recirculate. Maybe one day I'll have a real greddy bov. Also I'm considering changing my needles to yellow. What you think? I got some yellow needle paint. The new after market gauges are great but...
I update to instagram to keep track of my progress. It's simpler to upload photos and content. I've always wanted to keep this thread updated, so maybe this way will help. If this works, I might go and update my progress backwards on my build this way. Let me know what you think of doing it this...
Fp 3065 turbo
Sent the hotside to Morrison fab to redo the wastegate flange for a 44mm.
Missing 1 bolt for the compressor housing.
I never ran it, but everything looks clean. See video clip to see compressor spin. Very little to no shaft play. Will need to be reassembled. I'm sure it doesnt need...
Im not sure what I'm looking at but I'm always interested in lighting upgrades/modifications for my car. I'll be on the look out for updates on this. Thanks.
Selling these refurbished 2g eclipse/talon drip rails. I've done my best to bring these to like new condition. There is only one flaw in these and you can see it in the picture/or not, cause it's so tiny. Used SEM trim paint as that was what I felt looked best and I tried various black paints...
Thanks! I have a post on my instagram on how I did this with some pics.
Essentially, drl lights from ebay, pvc pipe fiberglass bondo'd to the back of the bumper and smoothed to match the bumper, primed and painted.Yes, Acura tlx jeweleyes retrofit into 2g oem housing. @s2k_sama on instagram...
Ah yes, good point. If you have a facebook account then no need to register. Just click the link and click the little yellow star to vote. It normally automatically logs you in with your facebook account. If not then yes, you probably do need to register. Either way, thank you!
Hey whats up everyone. I hope this is the correct spot for this post. My car made it into the Tuner Battlegrounds competition. I'd appreciate the help if you voted for me. Thank you for all the support, in this and all the other help this website has given me over the years...
When I he did my center differential, is was a bit difficult to communicate with him, and this was back in July. The work and price was good. I woudn't doubt the dudes' swamped and i'm sure the holidays just add to that. Email him with whatever info yall discussed but I think the best way, for...
Wow, Congrats on the new car. One thing i found out recently that might be helpful. I've noticed with the aftermarket headlights, the fitment isn't always perfect. I've purchased 2-3 sets. I haven't tried this but one thing I'd like to try next time that I suggest is keeping the stock...
On some old gasket sealant the scotch and plastic razors arent enough for me. I normally take a clean new metal razor and hold it perpendicular to the surface and drag it along the surface to clean away the old gasket. Just being careful. If you try and do it at an angle you're more likely to...
My advice would be to buy an engine from a junk yard and swap it. This of course is dependent on if you have a good junk yard around and a work area to do it in. If you have a daily to drive and a place to keep your car while you work on it, then doing an engine build can be done. You'll be able...
Sounds like you're trying to create a software program. Like mentioned above, there's so many variables to consider. Plus some of the parts would be forever changing when new parts come out. It would be helpful maybe in getting a baseline to know how much a certain kind of build would be if say...
My center differential went out on me. I took my transmission apart and while getting to the center differential I found this piece inside the transmission. The car ran fine until the center diff went out so my guess is this has been inside for a while. Can anyone take a guess or know what this...
Wow, thanks 007jimmy, This is just the answer I was looking for. Yeah i've seen their work. It's very nice. I'm gonna work my way towards installing this thing next. Appreciate it!
So i unknowingly bought a buschur racing fp3065. My question is, I should be able to just get someone to cut the wastegate flange and weld it back to the original spot right? That's the only thing i need to worry about to run this? Aside from the other missing components to mount and such. I...
I always go with automotivetouchup for spray cans. For areas like engine bay or small spots i've used autozone chrysler paint. I found one that is basically the same color just different paint code. I'll have to go look to find the name. But sinse the 2g are half chrysler in my mind it's...
Thank you, gave him a call. Wasn't good news. Parts have gone up in price. Gonna be a pretty penny to get a built center diff. That or buy used. Still waiting on replies from other venders but probably the same news.
Hi, I'm looking to replace my mangled center diff off my Manual 98 GSX.Can I replace it with a awd manual center diff from 92-99 years? Will they all just drop in and go?Also what is this part and part number if possible? It is the washer under the bottom gear inside the center diff. I...
Continuing my transmission repair here from a drivetrain thread.
After accelerating from a light a ended up hearing something break and hearing a clicking sounds coming from the transmission. I figured the clutch broke. I ended up pulling the engine and trans together as I wanted to repair the...
Ok, Took off the transfer case and did some tests. Started the car and it'll go into first and second without pressing the clutch. Also the front wheels dont turn. Reverse works fine, wheels go in reverse. If i put it into first gear and rev it a little the front wheels will turn slightly. Based...
So someone mentioned lifting the drivers tire while leaving the passenger down and trying to turn the wheel and if it turns the center diff is bad. I tried that and the drivers wheel wouldn't turn. Didn't know what to think of that because...
When i lifted the car on jacks and put it into first...
Thank you, yes this is what i was looking for. Didn't know what to consider.
After searching center diff topics I think that could be the issue. I have a friend coming over hopefully to get a second opinion before I tear the trans apart. But thanks!
Gonna continue this thread. So I sent off the clutch pressure plate, disk and flywheel to ACT to have them inspected and to see if they were within spec. They all came back with no issues. Act guy said they're all in "like new" spec. Which makes sense since they only have 4k miles. They went...
My first guess would be timing might have skipped. I'd check timing on all the sprockets and make sure they're correct. It sounds like it wants to cut off so maybe another thing could be not all pistons are firing. I'd pull each spark plug wire off one at a time and see if it gets worse or stays...
I read this in an old post on another dsm forum, but maybe someone that's experienced this before can chime in. Would a flywheel thats stepped improperly cause this. I mean, if a new clutch is installed, it would run fine in the beginning until it wore enough to start slipping. Either the...
Pictures are from last month. This is what the flywheels looked like when it was first resurfaced. So perhaps the flywheel is the problem? Thanks, I replaced the tob with oem when I installed the new clutch components.
Hi all,
Im hoping I can get some feedback on where to start in solving my clutch issue. So my clutch is slipping. In november 2019 coming back from driving my car, leaving a stop light accelerating hard the clutch started slipping and it was making a clicking sound at idle when i got back to the...
Looking at the video it appears the transfer case is whats making the sound banging against drivers axle perhaps? It looks like its pivoting up and down. Does it have all the mounting bolts (any fall out?) and are they all tightened down to spec?
Someone else with more experience can confirm, but as long as you keep it stock boost settings (7-10psi) and are able to monitor (which you say you can and will) I don't see a problem with installing it and running it, to daily it. I'd keep it super low just to be on the safe side, seeing as how...
