I had a focus that would do the same thing, left rear shock was blown and spring was busted up by the perch. Hitting a bump at highway speeds used to scare the shit outa me.
Nothing wrong with getting a probe, as above said really fun to drive and a pain to work on. If I could find a turbo 1g gt probe I would be all over it. 2g not so much. There isn't much for aftermarket parts for those cars but bolt on stuff wont net much if any gains. If you really want a probe...
I would get faint burning electronics every once in a while. Just a little burn smell, so little I was the only one to ever smell it. I pulled the ecu because it was something I haven't done yet. What exactly does that power transister go to, like what sensors is it there for.I haven't done...
I'm just wondering what this used to control, and what could i have done to make this happen. No one knows what it is that's burnt or what would cause this? Really want to get this figgured out before I go looking to get this ecu fixed or find a replacement
not to be rude but I don't get why everyone is afraid of running a mechanical oil pressure gauge. my grandfather has had the same sunpro triple gauge set in his galaxy 500 since as long as I can remember (at least 25yrs) and not once have I ever heard him say I hope it don't start leaking. hell...
dunlop graspic d3's are great snow tires. when I had my focus I went from I can't get my car over 35mph on the highway to gtf outa my way. really was a night and day difference. in a heavy ass car like a dsm I would imagine they would be a dream in the snow. tirerack has them for $101 each
back when i used to pc million dollar cranes for grove crane intl we used a semi truck carwash setup to get the parts cleaned. really was just a good soap with a light acid added to it. the green plastic tape and silicone plugs are great for keeping the powder out places it shouldnt be.i...
looks like windshield washer fluid low light from the pic. I've yet to have mine come on and don't have my car with me atm to give it a look. check under your spair tire and see if the tank took any damage when you got rear ended
stay away from the junk infinity speakers that mitsu/dodge used in these or any car. my wifes 01 stratus rt has blown every single one of them with the stock 4 disk indash. she also had a 99 jeep gcl with the infinity set up and all of those were also blown with the stock headunit. just because...
nice thing about the 2g. if you have the parts a friend or two few cases of beer (or soda depending on your age) and a weekend you can do a fwd to awd. something to think about if your dsm search comes up all fwd
there is a button that sets off the alarm when you open the hood. its down by drivers side head light. its prob toast and just decided to randomly work for you. my passenger side door switch is like that, most times interior lights don't work. some times they do
+1
but want to add don't use toothpaste with baking soda. it will scratch the lenses. the toothpaste just cleans the road grit out of the plastic. used to do this once a month or two back when I had my 1gb talon
you check your local p&p? I've found a few in my area with tops in good condition(not sure about the bows cause I didn't check them). one place told me $350 for the whole top if they pull it, $150 if I pull it. might be used but atleast you would know that it fit
check your battery and alt. if voltage output is low it will mess with your gauges and make your car run like crap. could be why you see the temp gauge fluctuate with rpm.
if the stock 1g auto trans was bulletproof there would be no need for venders to sell an upgraded end clutch kit. that being said they are not junk if maintained / properly rebuilt. my 1gb had 103k on the clock when the trans took a crap. got all the correct parts needed from IPT (great ppl btw)...
the clunk you hear when shifting reverse > drive or drive > reverse is probably your u-joints. I've never heard a wheel bearing squeak or fart, they usually sound like the rumble strips you hit before a set of train tracks in the middle of no where or along the shoulder of the highway. if you...
yeah, was going a bit faster than I should have. put my 1gb in the grass coming out of the keyhole and they pulled me off the track. at the time I was having a blast, looking back all I can think is man I was a dumb kid lol
Idk about the track in Cleveland, but mid Ohio is a blast! I've done a few parade laps between races, only got kicked off the track once lol. very nice layout and very technical track. few laps will definitely tell you if your lacking in driver skill lol
when you put it back togeather make sure you red loc tight the oil filter bolt and torque it to 35lbs. having to deal with that sucker backing out going down the road is no fun/dangerous depending on how fast you're going when it lets go.
ok well tan won't hide anything dirt/stain wise. unless you like to clean religiously and don't eat/drink/smoke or do anything other than drive it when its nice outside it will look bad fast. light grey is a little better at hiding dirt/stains but not by much. dark grey imo is best for looking...
you would be fine running n/t cams in a Turbo head. only difference between n/t and Turbo cams is the exhaust side has little more duration. so you might not see full boost till few 100 rpm later than normal.
