Just finishing up my motor, transmission, driveshaft, axles, small brake kit and a few other small things. Should be done in 2 months or so, I will post some more pics shortly.
Are you sure? When I asked him what he recommends for my rear diff he said they use an Evo 8 rear diff using Evo 8 inner axle cups and the rest is a stock 2g axle.
Thanks! I'm going to replace as much as I can on the car with light weight parts and hack the rest off. It's really easy to push around by myself already and that's with the stock suspension still on.
Not yet, I wont be weighing it until its finished.Thanks. The CF doors have no crash beam but do have all the mounting points and threaded holes for all the oem window stuff. I got them for $800 from a kid in california that bought them from a local company.
thanks. My plan is to have it running by August but I'm not sure if I'll have enough time. I have the major stuff done just have a lot of time consuming things left to do. As soon as its done this will be the first place I post a video. Thanks!
I think for this year I'm going to stick with this turbo to see what it can do, I also have nitrous which will help out a little if I need it beyond the 60ft. mark.I'm sorry I haven't updated this thread much, I got a new job a few months ago where I have to travel 6 months out of the year so...
My plan is to finish the car, plug everything in I need and delete anything I don't need. I want to do a full wire tuck but don't know if I'll have time before the season starts here.
Quick update: The tubular front end has been modified so that my 4 inch downpipe and twin wastegate dumptubes can exit straight out the side of the bumper. Also had the front cross member made which bolts to the stock location. The roll stop is being replaced by a solid plate that mounts to the...
Small Update: Picked up a GT4202R locally and got it installed on a spare longblock to see how the fitment is. Also took my car over to my friends house so he can modify a few things on the manifold, install a swing out on the roll cage, weld up the holes in the firewall, modify the tubular...
Haven't been able to work on it much because of work but will be finishing the manifold, tubular front end, wastegate dumps, tubular cross member, new roll stops and a few other things this weekend and next. I'm hoping to have it up and running before the end of march.
I'd at least do a shift kit, maybe get the valve body worked on, end clutches, and for sure do the converter. Check out this place for parts/services: Mitsubishi DSM Hyundai Auto Trans Parts
Looks sick! What thickness carbon fiber did you use for your gauge cluster? I'm trying to find something I can use for my cluster, fog light covers and the rear where the license plate was.
Got any recent pics? I always wondered what happened to his car. I'm really not sure what turbo he was running. I sold him a 6765 right before he ran for the first time, he was running a 42r and then supposedly switched to a 6262 when he ran that 9.3. You're guess is as good as mine.
ok, I'll turn my boost down to 12psi for you this season...ROFLThanks! I love red 1g's, I was going to buy a red caged shell locally but someone on here got it before I could. It was Casey Baretts red one that went 9.3@153 with a 6262.
I am going to use a lightweight 1/4" piece to replace that, I'll post up some pics next weekend. I am going to do a chromoly cross member with a new roll stop as well.
Ha ha thanks Boosted240^I am going to make a new cross member and roll stop so that it bolts to the tubular front end just like the stock one bolted to the front end. In the next week or two the front end, manifold, downpipe, wastegate dump tubes, and cross member should be complete.
And all of this coming from the guy chasing the 14b record. That's like winning the special olympics buddy. I'll take all of your advice into consideration.Finished the fuel cell cover this weekend, just need to take it to get powder coated. The holes for the return and breather/tip over valve...
It's actually pretty strong for how thin it is, you couldn't bend it if you wanted to. Thank man I'm just glad I have the majority of it done, I can't wait to get the motor and drivetrain in.
I bought it from a local who made it. You don't need a pipe bender just some straight pipe and a few 45 degree pieces. I'm going to do a custom bar with roll stop next weekend.
S375 is next on my list of things to get, hopefully it's not too big for underneath the headlight.
Quick update: Thanks to Eeeeky (Aeryk) I am now 2 months ahead of schedule. Just picked up a custom tubular forward facing manifold, tubular front end, 4 inch intercooler, wastegate, intercooler piping, and some AN fuel lines from him, thanks again Aeryk.
And what I chopped off a few...
I'm still removing a lot, hopefully I can remove another 100-200 lbs of material. 2,000 lbs is just a goal not a set number. All I do know is that I've taken out 3 truck loads of stuff and replaced a lot of heavy stuff with some lightweight parts. I'll have a final weight of the complete chassis...
Yeah I just didn't feel like paying $7,000+ for a Dogbox and a twin disc clutch. After watching this 2g I made up my mind:

I can make you one if you send me a template of your stock window. 1/8" lexan is so flexible that it doesn't need to be formed like the drivers/passenger door windows. Send me a PM if you are interested. As for installation, I use 3M windshield adhesive. Rivets can be used as an extra precaution...
That has actually crossed my mind. What all is needed to run straight methanol besides huge injectors and two pumps? My plan was 2200cc injectors and twin Bosch 044 pumps on C16 fuel.
