ok first, a question. are the clutch kits or a 94 and the 99 gst the same?the reason why i ask is because i have to change the clutch. when i was replacing the starter i got one for a 99gst because thats what i have . but when i tried the starter it was too big. i went back and traded it...
Anyone have any experience with these? I have a pretty stock gst spyder and I need the clutch replaced. If not local parts store where can I get one for a reasonable price?
i hve to replace the drivers side door handle on my 99gst. its turning out to be such a in in the ass so far that metal tab on the door that secures the handle gets in the way when trying to reinstall the handle and i dont know how to get to the linkages with the widow in the way. am i supposed...
ok, do you know what thread those bolts are ? and sorry for the stupid question but did you put them in like in the picture first or did u put the bumper in place then screw them in. did u have to get under the car to gain access to those bolts? or is there a way to do it through the wheel wells?
theres no bracket on the bumper whatsoever. can anyone give me some ideas of what i can fab up from the hardware store? if i went with the bolts and washer combos should the bolt go down from the quarter panel or up from the bumper? and what can i do to keep the bolt and nut to keep it from...
my car is missing whatever hardware that is necessary to attach the end of the front bumper to the bottom of the quarter panel. is this hardware only obtainable from the dealer or am i going to be able to fabricate something from autozone or local parts store? id really not have to wait 2 weeks...
Ok it sounded like you meant the one directly under the battery tray itself. If it's not too much trouble can you snap a quick pick of where it is exactly so I have a better idea?
Joe that mount you are describing seems to be ok. It seems there is one on the bottom rear of the transmission that needs attention. Can anyone give me a part number to this mount? Sometimes these guys at the part store are fkn clueless when it comes to looking up stuff.
Ok. At first someone said under the manifold and I was confused. Is the rear trans one hard to get to? Or do I need a lift to get to it? ANd what's a vss?
How many motor mounts does my 99gst have ? I just replaced the.bottom front one (the roll stop mount) the other day and sometimes I still get a clunk when going from 1-2nd gear.
went and got a mount from autozone. waited all day for one parts store to order the wrong one then went to two stores to get it from autozone. i spent more time running around than i did actually replacing the part. smh...thanx for all the advice guys.
i need to replace the front lower transmission mount. the one that keeps the engine from rolling back when u get on the gas. is this easy to replace? can i do this in my driveway or is this something i need to take to the shop for some special attention?and when i go buy this mount is does...
can anyone please help me and show me what the correct bolts look like or am i just going to have to run to mitsu dealer and buy them? are there any online mitsu parts places where i can find a schematic and buy them?
I'll check the scanner for any kind of readines monitor menu .I checked this morning and don't remember seeing any such rhing.Yeah I see you're in fishkill.i don't take the car out much.who do you take your car to to get worked on?
how do i tell if the computers are ready to be inspected? i have a scanner that i use to reset the check engine light . where in that scanners menu does it show if the ecu is ready or not? that way i dont waste my time taking it to be inspected and it still not be ready
When I first got the car I had an issue with the alternator wiring and 2as getting a code that cpuld have been a bad computer so I bought another to try out and never switched it back. Ill try switching it back again to the original computer and see what happens. How many miles does it...
i have an extra ecu. are u saying i should take the car or the ecu itself to the dealer? sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but sometimes things need to be spelled out in order for me not to make a mistake and misunderstand what u are trying to get me to do .the ecu thats in there is...
none of them were ready after all those miles. is there any way with a obd2 reader to tell if they are ready before i take it back in so i dont waste my time?
i just recently put in a starter and had to disconnect the battery . the computer was reset because of this. i have since put in almost 300 miles on the car and i went to take it in to be inspected and they told me the computer isnt ready yet. anyone know how long it usually takes to be ready?
comes on and goes away most of the time. i did notice that the two bolts that hold down the turbo come loose a lot and when they do i usually get the code and sometimes if i have the idle set too high it comes back too with some other codes
ok, so i replaced my starter recently and i discovered that my engine is a 1st gen. i think thats a good thing right? any who, ive been having this nagging fuel pressure regulator up check engine light and its really annoying me. i was wondering if the 1st gen motor and electrics play well with...
The last guy that worked on my car said I had a smaller turbo than normal on my 99 gst spyder.he said it looked like the turbo from an automatic. What I wanted to know was will there be any negative effects to the car from running this turbo? Are there any adjustments that have to be made?
I did take the measurements with the probes as shown but after you told me I redid it and got the same numbers. I have to Make sure that line has current all the way thru and worst case scenario I have to run a new line from the alt straight to the ecu to see if it gets rid of that code. (p1500)
Yes but at the plug coming from the alt I'm getting 8.7 ish volts down by the ecu I'm only getting 3.5 or so. Is there any place in the wiring loom that the green wire is spliced and might have a bad connection ?Is there any place on the car I can draw from to get the required voltage to the...
thanx dsm. now the reason why im doing all of this is because im trying to diagnose a check engine code. i was only getting 3.5ish volts at the ecu from the green wire coming from the alt. when i check the alternator wire up top im getting 7.5ish volts. should there be such a difference ? im...
Thanx for the info. I think I'm looking for something like 9volts without accessories and s lil less with the. Running. Is that correct? Also would I use that same setting if I were just testing the battery and alternator itself ? Or would I leave the black terminal where it is?
on the multimeter unit pictured in this message which setting do i put it on to test pin 41 to try n diagnose why im getting that generator terminal code ?
What should my voltage be at that point. I took a measurement there and it was 4volts if its low does that mean its the alternator?P.s. its for my 99gst
Ok so I just had my alternator replaced. As soon as I get home the belt is squeeling. I take a look and tugbon the belt and I see the alternator move. I know ota not supposed to do that. I look underneath and the pivot boot is gone. Upon looking atbthe alternator. I see that the pivot bolt hole...
Can someone please post a pic of this relay in the headlight area? I'm also having this code and changed computers and alternators. There are a lot of cut wires in my car in that area and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with this code I'm getting.
i think im going to go with putting in longer bolts for the two holes i drilled out. i kiind of have to because if i even tried to rethread them its going to come out crooked. the challenge is going to be the hole closest to the firewall becuase getting a nut to go underneath the platform to...
ok, its not pretty by any means but i got the bolts drilled out. a lil crooked and nowhere near straight but they are out. now what kind of bolts can i put back in these holes? anyone know what thread the original ones are ? one hole i have has the original threads so i would like to get the...
my problem is that the circle the bit made is crooked and i need to grind down the metal on the other side of the hole.i would love to replace the mount bracket but it doesnt look possible without removing the engine to get it out
ok so i gave it a shot and it didnt turn out well at all. i center punched as best as i could then i tried to drill and put a puller in there but the drill went sideways and nothing came our right. so now i have the front hole all the way through so now i have to even out the hole so i can try...
