Just as you thought, the logger just reads sensor data from the ecu. The most common and cheapest method of tuning is with a logger and SAFC to adjust fuel. 95's cannot log knock directly, but can monitor timing advance which is indicative of knock when timing gets pulled.

Don't forget that 90 cams are actually worse than 2G cams. Get 93-94 cams if you can. I've had 3 pairs of cams on my car, stock 2G, 90 1G, and now HKS 264/272 and I will tell you from experience you can tell the difference between 90 cams and 2G cams, they are worse.

You can't damage anything by setting the timing wrong at idle. You can swing from full advance to full retard. Just don't go boosting hard if you feel like advancing the timing for fun unless you log and tune or have racegas.

You can break em loose at 45 (2nd gear) and spin hard with only a 16g. Traction mods for my car are quaife lsd, tein coilovers, and 225 series tires. Of course cams help you spin much harder. To spin 3rd and at a higher speed you probabaly need a 50trim or 20g.

An awd 4g eclipse would also be a tank. What is the GT rated at now 3500lbs? With awd it would probably tip the scales at 3700+ which is ugly.

Why would it be harder to tune?? If the cams on the mivec 4g63 actually use an aggressive profile for the top end, it could possibly mean there would be one less thing to worry about, ie getting HKS cams for top end power. It would be akin to how H guys don't have to change their vtec cams...

Sound like the belts to me, check those first. Have someone turn on the car while you chill under the hood listening for the noise. If it's coming fromt he drivers side you probably need to tighten the belts a bit.

ehh, not saying a quiafe is a bad idea, but it won't help you out as much as some people think, especially if you make decent power. My friend kills me on the 60ft when I run street tires with the quaife vs his open diff/ BFG DR combo.

I've had a quaife for about two years now. If you have enough power to trap around 110mph then lsd doesn't make much of a difference. It's still spin city for me 1st and 2nd gear. You're better off getting DRs or slicks if you want extra traction at the track. The only reason I got an lsd...
