@TKI know. Time flies man. :(@FullSendya. It had been making the noise for a couple years before I even made the original post. At this point I have accepted that it’ll be with me until the end. Lol
update(8/2020);I got a comment on my youtube channel asking if I ever figured out this sound.Sadly, No. I disconnected the A/C belt and the noise still persisted.
I am running with the A/C still (it can get hot here in So Cal), so I will definitely look into that. As far as I can tell, the A/C unit is still the original one.And based on your thoughts, and the thoughts of other replies in the thread, that’s where I’ll start my search. Thanks everyone...
Interesting. I do know the guy who did the swap. I’ll have to double check with him.Edit; I’m pretty sure the balance shafts were removed durning the 6 bolt swap.
Hey guys.I’m hoping someone here can help me pin down a noise.Edit; new links - WITH SOUND!!https://imgur.com/gallery/qxHhPZUhttps://imgur.com/gallery/fsJfaJ3It comes on at about 2700rpms and stays till redline.Motor is a 6Bolt. Has made this sound since the swap. Things I can tell...
So, a little update. It turns out that I didn't have ecmlink setup correctly (I know, I know). The issue was that after I installed the BCS, I opened up ecmlink and went straight to the WGS tab and started tweaking values straight away. What I didn't know was that I had to be logging certain...
Thanks for verifying that it's set up correctly.I believe that the male electrical plug on the car side isn't making a good connection. I'm gonna hard wire the BCS straight to the car.Thabks again for all the help guys.
Unfortunately no. He just links back to wiki article. The stock setup has a "T" that connects the turbo to the waste gate, and the to the factory BCS. I'm wondering if i should use that setup instead of what I have now. Thanks for replying tho!
Can someone verify the boost line setup on a stock 2g using the 3 port ingersoll rand please? Ive read and reread the ecmlink wiki on the install, but I think I still have it set up wrong, as I'm not building more than 10psi at 85% duty cycle. Is this the correct way to run the boost lines...
Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone has any leads on where to buy a VSS and, more importantly, a gear for a 97 AWD M/T.Extreme PSI has the VSS, but no gear.I searched the google for MD749150, but no success. So now I figure I'd ask you gurus. Thanks
So I did the skateboard mod on the linkage under the hood, and the noise still persists. Also, while I was driving I started twisting the rubber grommets and sleeves, and the noise got louder...Is there some kind of adjustment that can made here, or do you guys think new linkage is in...
I haven't done the skate board bearings yet, that on the to do list tho.As to where there sound is coming from, it seems to be coming from directly beneath the radio, and in "front" of the shifter. Unfortunately I've been in the drivers seat, so I haven't gotten my ear too far down there yet...
So I'm wondering if you guys can help chase down an annoying noise.I have a 97 gsx manual with a 6 bolt swap and a rebuilt transmission. Over the course of driving this car, there's always been various wind/air leak noises. For example, close a vent when the heaters on and it starts...
Does installing a preamp with an iPhone charger/adapter count?Sadly it took me longer than it should've. Turns out the previous owners after market radio harness' ground wire wasn't really attached to anything. Smh.
Thanks for the replies guys.I have a 120k X with a 6bolt swap, but a stock turbo ATM.I know that the motor can handle some boost, but I'm a lil concerned about the rest of the drivetrain.350 - 400 torque is the goal. Just wanted some second opinions.
Before you flame me, here me out.How much hp can the 2g CAR handle?Specifically a GSX.At what point does the tranny give out?Clutch, axles, transfer case?Basically, how much HP were you at when you had your first compnet failer?
