geez i haven't posted on here in a while, been kinda depressed with the ol dsm, back in feb got in a heated race with my friends new camaro ss, and kinda blew some stuff up lol, thought it was just a head gasket at the time and kinda put it on the back burner but i took it last week to get...
yep thats what it read, and i'll check all my timing tomorrow when the sun is up, now the timing marks on the cam gears they are suppose to point at each other correct?
ok here is a quick video i took tonight of my car cranking over, y'all tell me what y'all think just by listening too it. after tonight i'm thinking head gasket but idk..... gonna do another compression test tomorrow since i can't find where i wrote down my compression numbers at.trying to...
the gauge and controller really are kinda up to you and how much you wanna spend, personally i don't like the electronic controllers i think they are over priced and from what i read aren't very reliable but i could be wrong on that. the hard intake tube you could buy it if you want but there...
the 255 with out a external fuel pressure regulator will do you more harm then good. also do some shopping around and some research before you just buy stuff, or you will end up with all kinds of extra parts laying around that are pointless. the boost guage and controller are a great start. if...
:D lol unless the fuel guage just went out then yep it has a 1/4 tank in her.also while im thinking about it, the ecu does it have to be bolted back into place to work properly? i mean do the bolts act as a ground or anything to that sort.
i did change the ecu out with the 91-94 ecu, now i did get the car to start tonight and drove it down the street, it was kinda crappy on power on the low end till it starts building boost, then it ran like a beast for about a mile then all of a sudden it killed over and would barely run back to...
I have checked pretty much everything I can think of and done everything suggested so far. Still no start. I tried starting fluid today still nothing. Im starting to think the ecu I replaced mine with is bad also.
agggggghhhhhhhhhhh help.......... so now i've replaced the ignition control modual (spelling) the coolant temp sensor, the cas, swaped the computer, new plugs, and still no start. i don't know which way to turn from here.
alot of people are going to say right off the bat get a wideband o2 that way you can see how your car is, then you can dial the fuel in a little better with what you have, next will come, get dsmlink so you can really get the most out of it. as for the idle, mine didn't have that problem when i...
ok so i have a extra computer from a 93 tsi awd, now could i swap it in my car just to see if that fixes the problem with out haveing to change the pins out. and if it does just have my ecu fixed then. i also pulled the ignition module off and it failed the light test but from what i read that...
the ecu seemed fine, i pulled it apart and didn't see any leaky caps or bad connections. i wrote down my compression numbers somewhere i'll have to find them but they were good. i'll check some of the others.
i did i went down the list thats where i got the idea for the coolant temp sensor, but on that list it didn't say anything about fuel pump not coming on with the cas in but will come on if you spin the cas by hand.
before you ask yes i used the search function :) i drove my car the other night, then came out the other day to start it and it just cranks and trys to fire but it won't, i replaced the coolant temp switch still nothing, well i noticed the fuel pump wasn't kicking out and didn't seem like i was...
my turbo car did this last night, drove home just fine, then got up this morning to go start it and all it would do was turn over but wouldn't fire, y'all think that could be the ecu on it too? actually after reading alittle more i think mine is due to the Coolant Temp Sensor
which yellow wire are you talking about? are you talking about the one the grounds the relay? or the one that splices in and goes to the cars side of the wiring? i can see where that would confuse someone since they used 2 yellow wires there.
that is a good question. i would assume they are there for a reason you might try to reattach them and see if it helps worse case your out about 5 min worth of time.
From what I read and what others say, if you run a 255 fuel pump you need a fuel pressure regulator because to over loads the stock one. Not sure that will fix your problem though.
lol so now your saying i could technically still run the safc since i have the maft, but i would be better off with ECMlink? how much difference is there in the ecmlink and the safc? what all is different tunable wise?
is there a particular wideband out there that people prefer?the ecmlink looks to be the way i'm thinking about going but if i read correct then i need to have a ecu thats socketed correct? and if not the i have to buy the ecmlink and have my ecu sent of to be socketed correct?
fist let me start off by saying hi to everyone, i have been kinda trolling around reading alot and trying to figure some things out on my own. well now i'm at the point that i figure i'll just ask some questions and hope i don't get flamed too bad. I have read alot on site so i have used the...
there use to be a tulsa dsm forums page i think it was okdsm.com but it doesn't get used anymore i believe. has any of y'all hooked up a s-afc before? just a random question lol
