Changed my VC gasket since it was leaking badly. Degreased the whole thing twice and while it was off I painted the VC copper with blue and white speckles.
When I had my massive wheel hop problem I replaced all but the rear one with OEM mounts with poly inserts. I'll just skip straight to all solid mounts this time.
I recently noticed that my car has been leaking oil more than usual so I decided to pull the engine/trans sometime next month to reseal it and clean it up from all the leaks. Also, while the engine is out I figure it's the best time to go ahead and do any and all preventative and past due...
I agree with all the anti-posts.I had a DDMTuning 5k 35w kit for my lows for about a month and I absolutely hated them. They weren't the right color and they had hot spots of light and actually performed worse than a el-cheapo halogen buld in the same housing. I've never really been happy with...
No, it was operating temp form a 300 mile drive. It didn't sound like normal dsm lifter tick. This one would start softer the get louder and louder then get real soft and do it again.
Did a full pull outside Goliad, Tx when the car bucked harder then usual started to smell funny... Made it home and car was making a random ticking noise from under the valve cover around the third cylinder... Friend says possible collapsed lifter, anyone else had this problem? Now wtf is this...
Recently I've noticed when I try to fill the car it seems like the vent to the tank is messed up because it sprays back and makes the handle click off. It's rather annoying and makes it very difficult to fill the car. Has anyone ever had this problem before. I've searched here but the only...
To remove the amber lenses you have to split the headlights using heat around the seam and a good deal of patience. Some people prefer to cook them in an oven but I prefer a buddy and a heatgun.I had a set of shrouds painted white to match but I ended up not using them because it looked too...
I'm looking to build an autocross car and I can get my hands on a 300zxTT z32 for a really good price. Does anyone know how well these would fare in autoX? I've always loved them and I don't want to build my dizzy seeing as it's my DD. DOes anyone have experience racing in or against these cars?
I'm paying real close attention to this thread as I'm deciding on what to do with my street/autocross motor build.I want a 94 or 100mm crank but I also want it as light and free-revving as possible with a 9.5:1 86mm piston.Subcrib'd.
FFWDconnection edges their butcher cranks like airplane wings, rounded on the cutting edge and tapered on the backside.
ReadAlso, they use YOUR crank to cut on so if you send them an OEM unit they'll send you back a cut, balanced, and polished OEM unit, so I don't see what the problem is...
I have a muffler delete with stock size pipe and factory cat and I like the way it sounds. It gets me buy intil I get my 3in DP and have someone 3in straight pipe it.
So if you left all the axles in place it would be an even 50/50 split front and rear? The reason I ask is I've never really liked the FWD biased AWD systems, an even 50/50 split all the time seems like it could eliminate what few traction problems high HP AWDs have.Isn't welding it up...
Not to necropost but I've been having all the same problems and it's recently been getting worse. The car will start bucking HARD under full boost. Only while loaded and only under full boost. The car also seems to be running rich under boost as well judging by the ridiculous amount soot all...
Polished aluminum handles would fit my color scheme perfectly.Has anyone tried to put an electric popper with a pressure switch a la the c6 vettes in these cars? That would solve the handle problem with a quickness.
+1 on this. You can also have the vinyl clear coated to it matches the shinyness of the hood/hatch. or have the hatch and hood wrapped. I'm one of those people that things have to match or it drives me crazy.
Also, HIDs make you stand out from traffic A LOT so if your going for sleeper/undercover they are not the way to go, I'm reverting to stock for this reason alone.AND, the HID fogs emit enough heat to crack the glass lens of the projector if water hits them so keep that in mind as well.
I'm running a 35w 5k DDM kit in my lows and a 3k 35w DDM kit in my fogs. IMHO the purchase was not worth it, the beam is all messed up and has hotspots. Also, the 5k kit was much bluer than expected and the 3k kit was much whiter than expected. The kit was of much less quality than the DDM kit I...
I talked to a rep from a wheel repair company here in houston a while back and he told me that it would be close to $300 a wheel to have mine replated.
I love that all the people saying to ditch it live in northern states or are used to not having it.I bought mine in december and replaced the belts without putting the compressor one back on thinking I could take it. First heat wave over 90* I quickly put it back on. Ac is a gift if you live...
I tore down a cattle fence trying do drift my old '01 Intrepid down a dirt road. Did $400 worth of damage to the fence and $1200 in damage to my 300m suspension.Best part, when I finally stopped and got out there was a prize show longhorn standing not even 3 ft from my car staring at me like...
THIS.Check or just replace the crank/cam sensors. Also check the sprockets that the sensors read, I've seen sprockets lose a tooth somehow and wreak havoc. It's one of those things you'd never find if you weren't looking for it.
WHICH second o2 sensor do you mean? It seems to me you're adding one that came with the wideband and counting it in with the OEM units. If your referring to the OEM upstream sensor, I'd say leave it in and connected. Are you using the wideband somehow for AFR input to DSMlink? If you're...
Yeah, the video really didn't help. This next question is going to sound really stupid but I promise I'm going somewhere with this...Are you sure you're using the correct bulbs? And if so are they installed correctly?I ask because I've seen Chevys that people put in the wrong bulbs and they...
If the problem is in the switch or linkage head to your local boneyard of choice and pick up a unit out of any car from the same family. If it's in the tumbler, just order a new ignition tumbler from your parts supplier of choice. You could get a junkyard unit but I wouldn't risk it. These...
I've been looking to recolor my interior as well. I can't decide if I want to go with a black and tan or throw some splashes of blue suede around STi style. How's the dye holding up?
I'm gonna hafta +1 the projector discussion.I put a crappy bulb only 5000k kit from DDMTuning in mine and TBH other than the beam color matching my exterior leds, I see no gain from using them. They hotspot really bad and have a horrible beam pattern. I'll be putting in the TRS retro kit in 3k...
I've seen this show.I don't really see what the deal is with fighting the tickets or getting mad about the deal.If you aren't speeding or messing up and you get a bogus ticket, yeah, by all means. THIS is what the court system is there for.BUT, if you ARE speeding or doing something...
The only two times I've ever gotten speeding tickets the PDs differed them because I didn't have any other violations on my record. If I paid the ticket and didn't get pulled over in 90 days they didn't report it.65 in a 55 - $250 - Aug 2006
85 in a 70 - $375 - Feb 2009 I was probably doing...
That's nuts. Who woulda thunk it? If it works I guess. Anytime I ever install anything I never tap into lines like that, Never would have guess it was factory. It still seems there is a loose connection somewhere. I know electrical diag is a PITA which is why our shop doesn't have a maximum...
Wouldn't an exhaust leak only make a difference if it's within earshot of the o2? I don't see how a downstream leak could affect AFRs. Say if you had a dumped downpipe or side exit setup...
What is that picture of the spliced together wires? You say its coming from the A/C fan fuse?I'm pretty sure that's not what its supposed to look like, I can't imagine that came from the factory that way.Perhaps whatever that other random wire is connected to is backfeeding current somewhere...
I agree, if this is your one and only daily driver you may want to slow your roll a bit and have an experienced tuner help you along. Especially if you've never tuned anything before.I'm all for learning hands on but you can seriously damage your motor by messing up the tuning. If you have...
If you're already in the tranny doing work it makes sense. Any increase in mileage is better than no increase. Some of us that drive the dog crap out of the highway can make use of it. I drive 600 miles a week to and from work on the highway at 75mph. Even though I get between 30-35 mpg at...
